Danforth Yachting on Lake Malawi......A MUST!!! My stay with owners Michelle & Howard was a highlight on my trip to Africa. Way off the tourist radar, this small property has the feel of visiting friends at their home rather than staying at a hotel. From the moment I arrived it felt as if I was being welcomed by friends who...

Our entire family (and freinds) had a fantastic experience. In just 3 days the kids (age 12 and 10) learnt to ski, sail, snorkle and of course to play Bawo! The accompdation was excellent - and the staff so discreet at keeping the rooms immaculate. All our meals were superb and especially the lovely birthday cake they made especially for...

We made a fleeting visit to the lake which turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit to Malawi. This is a beautiful resort, equipped with everything you need to have fun on the lake. The food was amazing, as was the hospitality.

An excellent lodge run by a couple who are not only friendly and welcoming, but who go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. The food, accommodation and water activities combine to make any dream holiday come true.

Everyone coming to Malawi should spend some time at "the Lake", and this resort is a great choice. It is clearly the most upscale and most expensive option, so those looking for savings or a more rustic experience should look elsewhere. Located on the beach on Cape Maclear, it's about a 4 hour ride from Blantyre (the last 40 minutes...

My wife and I had a very memorable stay with Howard, Michelle and their great team. We sailed to the Eastern shore of the lake on the catamaran Mufasa, dining extremely well and being thoroughly spoilt. Having anchored ofshore overnight we then explored the coastline on foot the next morning. Howard and Michelle have the ability to make you feel...

Although slightly chintzy the setting for Danforth is as spectacular as the sunsets. Although I was the only visitor there the staff really made an effort to make me feel welcome and at home, even joining me for meals each day. Expensive by Malawi standards at USD150/night but this was fully inclusive and sitting by the pool watching the sun...

We spent 5 nights at Danforth Yachting, in Malawi, arranged by Audley Travel. The setting was lovely, and with just 4 rooms, the atmosphere was light years away from a normal hotel. We all sat and ate together, with good wine and interesting conversation. Michelle, Howard and their unobtrusive staff produced three delicious meals a day, afternoon cake, sundowner snacks...
