Love Mgoza, I have been here many times with my family and we have stayed in all the rooms available (for family's). Alan the owner is very involved with the local community. He works with the village Chiefs and other lodge owners to make sure...More
For a few nights we experienced Mgoza lodge and we were not disappointed. Alan and his team make it their number one priority to look after you and make sure you see the real Malawi Lake experience. The facilities are great here and so is...More
We stayed for two nights in September for the Triathlon weekend. We stayed in a two bed dorm- which was basically our own chalet which was right on the beach. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. The food was good, although the service was sometimes incredibly...More

Thanks for the great review . Sorry about the speed of service, the triathlon weekend is one of the busiest of the year and occasionally the kitchen got a bit overrun with orders.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in Sep-Oct 2017.
The lodge is situation very much in the village, but there is a lovely private lawn and swimming pool to relax in with a great view of Lake Malawi. I think within the...More

Allt he rooms we saw were double rooms in thatched huts, they put in a camp bed for our friend's little boy. The rooms are basic in style, they are thatched huts rather than rooms in a large buildings. The bed is large and very comfortable, the mosquito nets are in good repair, the shower and the plumbing work fine, power is a bit unreliable (that's malawi, not the lodge) and lighting is very low. Furnishings are basic, there's no mini bar, no safe, no carpets, and shelves rather than wardrobe or chest of drawers. But there was plenty of space in our room, the setting is glorious, we loved it and we'd go again.
