I had an excellent one week staying at Leonidas Hotel and Studios in Kos. I really loved and enjoyed the swimming pool, which was always kept clean and it is a nice place to meet new people.
The location of the hotel is pretty nice, about 8 minutes by foot from a popular sandy beach and 12 minutes from the center of the town. The staff was interesting and willing to help if they need to.
My room was modern and fully equipped with an air-con, a fridge and a flat TV. Surely great value for money and recommended.

Overall, I 100% recommend this hotel if you’re looking for some quiet time 15min walk away from the city center of Kos, looking for a nice hotel, clean rooms, big pool and good breakfast.
You don’t go there to find luxury, you go there to enjoy the pool and have quiet and comfortable nights. Indeed the hotel could use a fresh coat of paint here and there but the most important is here: a cheap hotel away from the crowded and noisy center, with good room amenities (AC and a nice hot shower), very nice Greek breakfast with fresh products, cute kitties hanging by the garden (official residents of the hotel) and most of all, very friendly and cheerful staff!

We stayed here for 6 nights in late September 2020. The hotel is very nice, small and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our room was a superior one, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our room had a full sized fridge and a small balcony. There were no coffee of tea making facilities within the room, so if you like a hot drink first thing in the morning I would suggest taking a travel kettle and some cups with you. The breakfast is quite light , offering foods such as boiled eggs, toast, fruits, coffee, tea, yogurt, cooked meats and cheese. We travelled during the pandemic and the hotel was covid secure with plenty of hand sanitisers around. The pool is not heated, but never very cold and the pool area is very quiet with plenty of sunbeds always available. The area around the hotel is rural, but very close walking distance to the main Kos town. We hired bikes during our stay and used those to get around. All in all a lovely hotel and I would stay here again.

The location is a little out from the centre of town, but we didn't mind, as we like walking and the exercise did us good. The area around the hotel felt quite rural which was nice. We'd greet the local residents on our way into town each day. Cats are a feature here (I like, you may not). Along with ourselves, the other visiting tourist 'cat people' would help in feeding them every day.

Some of the rooms are basic. That's okay with us though, as we don't require much and it's not expensive. Our room was a 'basement' (slightly below ground level) one with a separate bedroom with good air-con, a tiny bathroom (no complaints) and a kitchen/living area. An unused hotel was at the back of the room. The cats were the first to greet us in the morning. They'd arrive at the front door and patio.

Breakfast was a simple, adequate and tasty affair, i.e. traditional Greek. We were content with what we received. This was self-served in a bright clean dining room at the front of the hotel. An outdoor patio spilled out from there and could be used for eating. We met and chatted to so many people from all around Europe. A Dutch couple and a Belgian/French family were repeat guests.

Bicycles can be cheaply rented from the owner/manager, a quiet yet friendly gentleman. Cycling is a pleasure here due to the relative flat terrain of Kos town. There were a couple of ladies working at the hotel. I think one was the man's wife (co-owner) and the other, the assistant manager? And of course, the cleaning ladies. I can't remember any names, but all were very nice and made us feel welcome.

I've been to Zakynthos and Crete (twice), but so far, Kos and particularly Kos town, is my favourite. The Leonidas Hotel didn't disappoint either. I found the immediate surrounding area, the hotel itself and the accommodating staff all very charming.

Can’t fault the staff or management who are very friendly and accommodating. The air conditioned rooms are serviced daily and kept nice and clean and there is a very large swimming pool at the front of the hotel. The rooms are not 100% self catering as there was no kettle or microwave in our room just a mini fridge and two glasses, breakfast was adequate and served 8am-9:30am.
Unfortunately what I did find is this place is extremely noisy and I did battle to sleep at night but I’m a light sleeper so this may not affect everyone. We had assumed that being a bit further out of town it would be quiet but there is a public basketball court alongside the hotel and this is used almost daily in the evenings for a few hours. Also there were dogs in the distance which were barking the entire night and some lunatic rooster going at it at the same time so couldn’t sleep with the doors open at night. Lots of cows and goats in the field can be seen and heard and lots of cats at the hotel which I like but unfortunately we’re fighting at times.

We have just returned from a 3 week holiday at this hotel, lovely peaceful pool area no problem getting a bed we had the pool to ourselves some days, good pool bar with a good selection of snacks, nice bar area and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated on a quite busy road with no footpath which you have to walk down to get to the main road which is about 10 minutes walk it is another 5 minutes to the nearest supermarket, beach, bars and restaurants about another 5 minutes away. The cleaners came in every day to clean but really may as well not have bothered the bins were emptied and floors swept,Sunday only the bins were emptied. The floor was washed twice in three weeks, beds were changed 3 times and towels were changed four times although one time it was just the bath towels changed. The free air conditioning was a bonus.

We were last at the Leonidas back in 2019 but have stayed many times over the years. It was great to get back. Firstly, I’d like to point out that this IS a budget hotel, you do get what you pay for. However, every time we visit, there have been improvements. This year, the pool bar was up and running. Katrina does a great job, providing really nicely cooked snacks and cold drinks at a great price and the wi fi now works around the pool, so another bonus.
As always, the hotel is spotlessly clean. The lovely Sofia works very hard all day. We were never short of clean sheets and towels and the stairs and reception areas gleamed.
All the staff are very friendly and kind, a big thumbs up to Leo for his patience with me and my inability to unlock my safety deposit box lol.
This hotel is a little out of town, which we like. The walk into town and to the beach is flat and no hardship, with plenty to look at along the way. We are older travellers and we find the walk very pleasant. There are lots of good tavernas within a very short distance.
We always upgrade to a superior room in the front of the hotel. We did do self catering once, many years ago, so I can’t comment on those now. The breakfast is continental but we always enjoy it.
There have been comments made about the busy road which I fail to recognise to be honest. It’s not very busy at all and does not impact on the hotel and pool areas. When walking into town, we just face any on coming traffic, as you would at home. The cars are few and far between so please don’t let this put you off.
All in all, this hotel is great value for money and if you’re on a budget, you won’t go far wrong staying here.

Considering how little we paid for our holiday here, we have absolutely no cause for complaint. The place is absolutely spotless, beds are comfortable, rooms are serviced regularly and the owners and staff are kind and friendly.
We paid extra to include breakfast, however it ended at 09:30, which was too early for us, so we only made it once. But the day that we did it was lovely. Plenty of variety, nice and fresh and constantly replenished.
The pool area is very pleasant and was never crowded while we were there, although it is very early in the season. It looked as thought there is a small poolside bar area which the owner was painting and tidying up to open, which must be lovely in the evening and we would have certainly used had it been open.
Lots of lovely tavernas close by, every single meal we ate was delicious.

we arrived at the hotel at lunchtime. We were promptly shown to our room. We were shocked that when we were told the air con was free of charge . Our room was basic but thats a norm for greece. We were on first floor nice balcony area. Our room was cleaned every day, bedding and towels was changed 5 times on our 2 week stay. the only problem we had was one night we went onto the balcony and closed the glass inner door. The latch dropped and we were locked out. So Partner had to climb over balcony to the steps down to the lower level to go to reception so we could get back in room.. thank goodness it was 24 hour reception. Or we would of been out there till the following morning.
The hotel was in a good location 10/15 min walk to beach. 25/30 min walk down to the harbour. Supermarket was AB chain of markets only 3/5 mins walk. doesnt open on a Sunday.
We only stayed around pool for one day. Was a lovely area. Small snack bar opens at 12 noon closes at 5. Sunbeds were a little hard got used to the ones down on the beach which had thick mattresses pool area very quiet.
Staff were very friendly.
We had b&b. The breakfast was continental style. consisted of Ham Cheese Boiled eggs bread (toaster) marmalade jam greek honey greek yogurt tinned peaches fruit cereal coffee tea orange juice .
But all in all i will return.

Stayed here for a week in July, very very basic, one socket in room with everything plugged In to it. ( bit dangerous if you ask me) the room is advertised as a self catering studio apartment. This made me laugh two plates two bowls two cups, a hand full of mixed cutlery, no cooking utensils no pots or pans, one frying pan, ( don't know what we were supposed to make) small kettle enough to squeeze maybe two cups out of it, the bathroom was very small, the shower you got scalded or freezing no Happy medium, they also say they provide an iron and a hairdryer, ( you don't get any). The view we had was looking our to what can only be described as a derelict hotel, where under the cover of darkness the youngsters hang out drinking inside it, pretty noisy, the hotel is only a 2 star but I'd rate it a 1 star. It just wasn't for me, no atmosphere at all, no music very limited alcohol at the bar, also a bit of a walk to actually get to the town, down a long dusty road, where you pass the coos, the bulls the chickens, and the fields are littered with rubbish, first visit to Kos, and probably my last, but if you like being a bit out of town and relax all day by a pool then this is definitely the holiday for you, and you also like cats, there's hunners of them. Enjoy.
