We have just returned from a week at the Alexandra beach. We loved it. Our room was lovely and modern and clean , the best room we have had in all our Greek holidays, the bathroom was lovely , great shower .we stayed in the new part of the hotel facing towards the pool but had lovely trees in front for privacy. The staff are lovely and friendly and the areas are beautiful and clean. We loved that there was grass areas to sunbathe under trees.
We admit though the breakfast isn’t great but jam and toast was enough for me in the morning, some people added their own bits to the breakfast from the local shop like musli and different cheeses , but we ate out lunch and tea so it didn’t bother us.
We loved pisaldi , it’s lovely and quiet away from the busy kos town. Lovely tavernas on the beach and the cocktail bar was fab, they were really friendly and the cocktails tasted delicious. We enjoyed our walks into kos every other night so we had a choice of different restaurants , we ate at Petrino in the old town on our last night , wow amazing that is a must go, it’s so pretty and the food was lovely.
We used the beaches in Kos attached to the sun burnet arms , yannis the owner was so helpful and friendly and his food is amazing. You can use his beds for free and he supply’s you with a bottle of free water when you arrive and leave. He s as also gives you a free drink after your meal, we chose Ozo and lemonade lovely. We also used the beach up from the hotel , it has a lovely restaurant attached but is only open to 6 , the food there is gorgeous too and they are really friendly, that beach is a nice quiet beach but you pay a few euros for that one.
We done the 3 island trip on the princess Diana , I could t reckons d the trip enough , what a day. It’s not to packed on the boat but get there a bit earlier so you can reserve the sun mats to sunbathe , we saw dolphins had lovely meal in a restaurant and lots of swimming , that was my best day ever. We also done the turkey trip but would t bother again , queues for passport control were a pain and while the shops were fab you were pestered to a point that it was uncomfortable so was t for me. We hired a quad and went up to the springs and tikigi beach which was paradise.
We have had a amazing time and although have been busy all week we are planning on booking the Alexandra next year and hoping to spend more time on pool days too . It’s just a perfect location out of the busy but you can still access it . You won’t be disappointed.

Room was okay, did get infested by ants but they moved us straight away. All staff very friendly especially DORA. She normally works reception but did some bar work to cover staff who were off. She learns your name and room number, makes you feel more than just a guest.

Location isn't too bad you are on the edge of kos town where restaurants get a bit thin but Cafe Classic is great for cheap drinks and good quality ones too. C Food and Mood is a lovely place for food but a bit expensive. The town is a walk-able distance but in the full heat of day may be bit much for some.

There as a water sports facility 5 minutes from the hotel called atonis or something like that. Not bad prices and a lot of fun

Stayed here mid June and cannot really fault it. Breakfast is okay with some variety but can get repetitive. Plenty of sunbeds and if you are not keen on going on holiday with loads of Brits then come here as it is mainly Germans and some other nationalities. Wi fi is excellent and our room picked it up no issues. Location is good for the beach and the main road with the hotel renting out bikes for about 20 Euro for the week. The one issue was the bar which pumped out generic dance music all day for what is predominantly and older crowd which they were not into. Someone must have had a word as the music changed to MOR. Excellent value.

I visited with my teenage daughter for a girls mini break and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff were polite and helpful and our studio room was perfect for what we needed. We had read a few negative reviews but arrived with an open mind and would definitely return.
There is a lovely clean pool and plenty of sunbeds. It was extremely hot during our stay and we were thankful for a number of shaded areas around the pool and under the array of stunning trees.
Our studio room had an adequately equipped kitchen area with 2 of everything we needed. We only made lunches, but there was plenty of space to cook a larger meal if you chose. The bathroom was clean and quite spacious, although the shower was a little small. We had a balcony overlooking the local football pitch which was relatively quiet, and whilst it may not have been a pool view it was fun watching early morning and late night footy. There are an abundance of bikes to hire and a cycle path that makes it easy to cycle into Kos town and enjoy all the sights and great restaurants there. Due to the heat we decided to walk iater in the evening, once it was a little cooler, but the bikes were very popular and only 4 euros a day to hire.
We had booked including breakfast. This was fairy basic. But a typical continental breakfast. I think we've all got too used to the all inclusive massive meals! There was bread, rolls and cake. Cereal, yogurt and fruit as well as ham, cheese, tomatoes and boiled eggs. So actually plenty. The fresh Greek yogurt and fruit was fine - although more fresh fruit would have been nice. If you would rather a more substantial breakfast the supermarket across the road offered a wide choice of goods and you could easily make it yourself. In the evenings we ate at the local tavernas on the beach with stunning sunset views across the sea to the coastline of Turkey. It was beautiful. Having travelled to many of the Greek islands this was a first trip to Kos, and I'm already looking at when we can return!
If you are looking for a comfortable hotel within easy reach of the beach, restaurants and then the busier Kos town and harbour then this is perfect. It is not a massive all inclusive resort, with back to back entertainment and activities, more food than can possibly be good for you and lots of fellow Brits. It is a lovely pleasant hotel with a multi- European client base and ideal for our short relaxing break.

A last minute booking through a travel agent , old school !
Hotel is up a fairly non descript dusty road with some scrubby wasteland at the side. There was some litter present particularly near the main road. Back of the hotel overlooks a car park or a sports club. Psilidi is really just a series of hotels along the main road with beach bars and tavernas on the beach side. There’s a classic Greek mini mart across the road, well stocked and reasonable prices . It was a 25 minute walk to Kos town . Hired bikes from “ safe bikes” promoted at hotel. Bikes were not in great condition and other bike rentals nearby may have been better. Small pebbly beach at the end of the road water was clear and beach was clean. .

Hotel is spotless as was the pool area. Room tidied every day with laundry twice in 7 days. Cleaning ladies smiley and polite . Guests mainly Dutch or German with a very few Brits thrown in . Didn’t book breakfast but it looked nice , dining area spacious and large.
Pool area was lovely , beautiful gardens . No issues with sun loungers, these looked fairly new and which were tidied up every evening. Small outdoor eating area , for drinks and snacks ( gyros was perfect.)
There were no groups of young people and the guests were predominantly older, this may change in the school holidays ? The only criticism to make was that there was music played during the day , volume was fine but one day it was 70s rock , think thin lizzy ! Great for 1 or 2 plays but not all day . We positioned ourselves far enough away but a minor annoyance . If you’re looking for a bit of sun in a clean smaller hotel then this will do you just fine .

The hotel was very nice for the price we paid. The staff were very friendly. We didn't get the best room but it was clean every day, new sheets and towels. It only issue we had a family room but the air conditioner was only in one side of the room i.e. the main bedroom. Our children sleeping in the other room it was very hot and uncomfortable. That said the pool area, breakfasts, bar area were all brilliant. There was mixed groups families 18 to 25s over 50s etc mixed nationalities but all very friendly and respectful of each other. And no rush for the sun loungers there is plenty. Our family would definitely go again and location wise it was ideal.

We’ve just had a lovely week here. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, and a lovely pool area. Gorgeous gardens with fruit trees. We were self- catering and there is a well-stocked supermarket opposite the hotel. We walked into Kos town every night which was about 20 mins and chose restaurants for our evening meal. It was good to feel ‘normal’ again!!

Me and 3 other friends just got back from the loveliest trip to Kos staying at the Alexandra Beach hotel. The staff were incredible and so helpful to us when we had to stay another night due to flight cancellations (letting us come back to our room at 3am). A lovely location just outside the town with insane restaurants nearby, especially for seafood. The hotel has a diverse age range, with our group being 19-21, but there were plenty of families and more mature people. We really really loved our stay here and will definitely be back at some point. Thank you again!

My wife and I have stayed at The Alexandra Hotel in Kos Town four times and are booked for a further visit later this year.

It might be useful to first say who the hotel will not suit. If you have hoards of screaming kids who demand all manner of amusements and activities to occupy them for the day, or teenage sons and daughters looking for in house entertainment with pounding pop, rap or house music, then this is NOT the place for you, so please don’t go.

However, if you are a couple, perhaps with small children or even older ones who can quietly occupy themselves or a business person, and you are looking for an exceptionally well appointed centrally located quiet hotel in Kos Town then The Alexandra Hotel is THE place to stay.

The facilities and services are all described on the hotel web site and in the Expedia.com main write up. Those that we have personally used have all been provided to a very high standard. The hotel is privately owned and both the management and the staff take a genuine pride in the hotel and in ensuring that a guests needs are met if it is at all within their power. All staff from the room maids to the manager are very friendly and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean at all times. The rooms and bath / shower rooms are very well fitted out and are larger than in most Greek hotels we have experience of.

Many of the rooms on one side of the hotel have stunning views over the Old Kos Town Harbour and castle, and then over the sea to the mountains of Turkey in the far distance. The rooms on the other side mostly have views over Kos Town to the islands own central Dikeos mountain range.

The location of the Alexandra is absolutely perfect, and particularly so if one is unable to walk long distances. Walk straight ahead out the door for 200 metres and you will find yourself in the main Kazouli Square with its fruit & spice market and the towns museum (Well worth a visit for it’s exquisite collection of statues). Walk out and turn left through an archaeological site and after 200 metres you will be on the harbour side lined with palms and tavernas and from where you may catch a boat to many of the other Dodecanese islands or those more distant, or to the historic Turkish city of Bodrum. Many of the local buses are also depart from here. Turn right out of the hotel and 200 meters in that direction will bring you into the winding streets of shops and tavernas leading up to Diagora Square on the hilltop surrounded again by tavernas.

For those wanting a beach, the Town and Lambi beaches are approximately five to six hundred metres away and the local buses will take you to those more distant ones.

The Alexandra Hotel is not the largest on Kos or the newest on Kos but it is by far the most conveniently located hotel on the island and this fact linked to the excellent standard of the hotel and the welcoming and genuine caring attitude of its management and staff make it THE NUMBER ONE HOTEL ON KOS for us.
