The Aeolos Beach Hotel, a spacious holiday complex with double rooms and bungalows, is built in the traditional style of the Greek island architecture directly on the long sandy beach of the Aegean Sea. The resort is characterised by facilities in a traditional style, which are complemented by the welcoming Greek hospitality, and offers comfortable accommodation in both the main building and in the surrounding bungalows. The relaxing ambience of the Aeolos Beach Hotel reflects the pleasant comforts of home. In May ‘18, we opened the new Wing with 45 Premium Sea View Beach Front Rooms and Pool. These 30 m2 adults-friendly rooms for max. 3 persons offer: 24 hours A/C, Wi-Fi, kettle, slippers, bathrobes (RQ, with deposit), mini-fridge with 2 small water bottles daily, 1 reserved sunbed on the pool per person, 1 bottle of red, white or rose wine per room (on guest's request). The bathrooms have rain showers and a separate toilet. Premium guests have their meals at Tranquillo Restaurant.

Just returned from a very relaxing 10night break at this hotel. We only booked a few days before travel after our original travel plans were cancelled due to Coronavirus. We stayed in a premium bungalow which I’d highly recommend. They’re newly built, modern, spacious, comfortable and have a beautiful outlook. They have a separate pool area with designated sun beds to enable social distancing. This is all alongside the beach looking towards Kalymnos in 1direction & Bodrum in Turkey to the other. After reading other recent reviews I would agree the other rooms (not premium) appear tired & in need of modernising in comparison with the premium bungalows. I’m reluctant to be very critical in my review as I feel it’s unfair in these very difficult & unprecedented times & the hotel are doing their best. But there were some things that due to restrictions we weren’t happy with. We had a very warm welcome from the hotel on arrival & very pleased with our room. However the meal times are not relaxing. A big part of your holiday would be based around the dining experience. There should be more staff serving meals in the restaurant to shorten the queues. It was all a rush at the counter & difficult to go up again due to so many people waiting. Although the food choice is limited from what I imagine would normally be available, it was still tasty & enjoyable. But we had finished our meal in just 15mins so it was such a shame. Only the main pool bar is open & the limited staff throughout the hotel are extremely hard working. Wasn’t a fan of any of the drinks on offer in the all inclusive package. Definitely watered down & chemical tasting. So we used the €2 bus that stops outside the hotel to pop into Kos town only 10mns away for the atmosphere & fabulous Greek restaurants. We hired bikes from the hotel to get there too which was a lovely easy coastal ride. So many shops, bars & restaurants there. Definitely explore the whole island if you’re there. We hired a beach buggy but there’s other options. We were so grateful to visit Kos & were very happy to be based here. The staff were doing their best in these crazy times. Yes it could be so much better but we’re not in a normal situation & travel is a privilege right now. It was a lovely trip & don’t miss the wonderful sunsets from this lovely location.

Dear Guests Thank you very much for having selected the Aeolos Beach Hotel for your holiday and for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. We are happy to see that you enjoyed your 10-night break here despite some of the restrictions due to Covid 19, and that you particularly liked our location with the lovely views. Regarding the restaurant, because of the special regulations this year, it can get a little busy and noisy at peak times, which we apologize for. Thank you very much, too, for your kind words for our staff, which we highly appreciate. They give us the strength to go on providing the best possible service to our guests. It would be a pleasure if we could welcome you back to the beautiful island of Kos sometime soon. Kind regards, Christos Papadimitriou Hotel Manager

The hotel is very peaceful and not at all busy, the pool area is lovely and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. The beach area is gorgeous, quiet, and really relaxing. There is nowhere to walk to from the hotel, you have to get the bus to Kos Town which is cheap and easy or you can hire bikes and vehicles which we did if you want to explore the island a bit more.

The hotel is really perfect if you want somewhere tranquil to relax and aren't too bothered about nightlife.

My only criticisms are:
1. The beach restaurant was closed. Pictures of this were posted on the hotel's instagram and I was super excited to eat there as it looked beautiful. I didn't see anywhere online that said it was closed so this was disappointing
2. The main restaurant was a bit rubbish. Of course due to covid we couldn't serve ourselves at the buffet so it did feel a bit like going to the school canteen. We found breakfast really disappointing - no fresh fruit, only tinned pineapple and apricot, no toaster/slices of bread, bacon wasn't very nice and the general selection was just rather poor for a 4 star hotel. There was also no fresh juice, just watered down stuff you get in cheap cartons from the supermarket. Although dinners tasted nice, the selection was poor and the general atmosphere in the restaurant was not somewhere you would want to enjoy a nice meal, felt very much like they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible and it felt like a school canteen. They needed to play some nice music or something.
3. The rooms - we stayed in the main building with a sea view. The view was absolutely stunning but the room was very run down and in need of a good refurbishment. There was only one plug socket which we found odd and annoying as my friend and I both had phones to charge regularly. The hair dryer was useless, toiletries were rubbish so take your own shampoo etc and the whole room/bathroom just felt a bit grubby and tacky. Also there is not much sound proofing so we got woken up a lot by people coming in late, slamming doors and being generally noisy.
4. We didn't realise at the time of booking that you can go premium which means you can use the second swimming pool which is quieter and comes with much better sunbeds. If you are going to this hotel I really recommend you upgrade as you'll get access to more facilities and probably a nicer room which would just make the whole experience a lot nicer.

Overall I would say this hotel is ok for a peaceful get away and great for people who love beaches but I wouldn't give it 4 stars especially if you are looking for somewhere with good Greek food and fresh produce. We did eat out a couple of times because we got bored of the limited selection. Definitely go premium so you have the choice of pools and get a nicer room.

The staff weren't wearing face masks properly either. Almost all of them did not have their noses covered especially in the restaurant.

Dear Ms Sophie We thank you very much for having chosen our hotel and for taking the time to write some feedback on TripAdvisor. We are happy that you liked the hotel premises, the quiet location and the beautiful views. The Aeolos Beach Hotel offers a variety of room types, with different rates. Due to the special health protocols for this season, the Tranquillo beach restaurant is not open this year, as its set-up is not compatible with the Covid 19 regulations. On the Covid 19 section on our website, we mention that it will remain closed; and all the travel agents have been informed accordingly. Our main restaurant is available with fewer tables / less capacity due to the Covid measures. Therefore at peak times, it can get a little busy. We hope to be able to welcome you back to our hotel one day soon. Kind regards, Christos Papadimitriou Hotel Manager.

We loved our premium bungalow at this resort! Well designed very comfortable (except the bedding is just a bed sheet and all the towels were marked or had holes in them) The room had everything you need for a good 4 star hotel. Including a very good mattress. The only caveats we’re the safe has to be paid extra for use (shouldn’t be the case in a 4 star resort) and the ac turned off every time a door opened for even a second.

The other parts of the hotel are pretty gruesome as we stayed in a basic bungalow for a few hours due to a late flight and it was not habitable at all! Gaps under the door so insects roamed freely and dirt flew in plus the smell was awful!!!!! I feel so bad for anyone arriving for a well deserved break and getting one of these rooms!

The views and location are spectacular! The sea was beautiful and the premium pool reserved sun beds were comfortable and all had set umbrellas. You really couldn’t get much better then the views you get here. The pool was always pristine and clean. With a nice cool temperate to cool you off from the hot sun.

Now for the other bad part the all inclusive though they don’t charge much for this service… the food was dire! Just not good. The staff were friendly and helpful but if you wanted a drink during the day you had to go to the other pool. The “award winning” beach restaurant was just a buffet which was carried over in a buggy and set out on a table. It was usually cold and barely edible. I’ve never had stale fries before this hotel. It had amazing views though and nice desserts. I never got ill from the food as they did an excellent job on cleaning and health and safety, it just never had anything that tasted that good or tasted like pasta and sauce from a can. Also there’s nothing to do after your quick uneventful dinner so bring movies or own pass times.

Luckily there is a bus outside the hotel which takes you to kos town for 2 euro each way which has some brilliant restaurants.

All in all I would recommend this resort as long as your are in a premium or superior room. The staff were helpful, the location is amazing.

Dear Guests Thank you very much for choosing the Aeolos Beach Hotel and for taking the time to write a review. We are happy to read that you liked the location and the Premium and Superior rooms. Our bungalow rooms are located in large garden areas with meadows, which is why at times some insects might appear. Our housekeeping staff cleans carefully and also tackles any such problem with special sprays if the guests request that. Our buffet offers twelve hot plates, a salad bar and a dessert station. Your comments regarding the food have been forwarded to the respective departments for further improvement. Thank you very much for your kind words for our staff, which are highly appreciated. We would be very pleased to welcome you back to the lovely island of Kos one day. Kind regards, Christos Papadimitriou Hotel Manager

There were 7 of us in our party one pensioner one baby and one servilely disabled lady . On arrival and the hotel at 11.30pm 18th sept we were swiftly checked in and taken to our rooms 454 and 487 . So bearing in mind we had a 78 year old with us and not steady on his feet we were taken to our room/ bungalow on the first floor . Once we seen the room we realised this was not what we had paid for . After going back to reception , the kind lady asked if we would stay in there for the night and the manager would move us in the morning.
Once we returned to reception in the morning we were moved directly downstairs to room 486 ,as we had booked a bungalow I Noah’s a rule bungalows do not have an upstairs, so basically we had a room. This was not again what we had requested and paid for .
So on with the holiday, beautiful clean grounds clean rooms and lovely pool area. Nice views but not the sea view requested.
On the first night at dinner we ordered drinks they waiter brought the over and by the end my husband ended up wearing a whole glass of drink where it had fell from the tray all
Over his top and trousers . There was no apology, just concerned with cleaning up the spillage on the floor. We were left with drink all over the table cloth and my husbands dinner.
Entertainment wasn’t the best 3 nights a week singing songs from 50 /60 years ago .
So as the holiday progressed things didn’t really get much better the food was repetitive. Pasta every night and on Italian night seven different pastas of which one had meat on it . So we decided to take ourselves in to Koz for something that we could actually eat. 10 euros there and 10 euros back . You can’t walk into Koz as it’s about three and a half miles away . And the nearest shop is about 2 miles.
We decided it was time to mention our issues with the rep , told her about the food in the restaurant where we told a waiter about hair in the bacon 🥓 he pulled the hair out dropped it on the floor and left the bacon for everyone to help there selves to . Kiosk by the pool was hot if you got there when it opened otherwise it was cold , and the alcohol by the pool was great to start with then fizzy pop tasted watered down and beer tasted oh chemicals.
As we were leaving to come home on the 28th September the manager come over and apologised for what was wrong while we were there and hoped we had a good holiday.

Have just returned from a week here which we have enjoyed. The positives are: the room - we booked the premium sea view bungalow. This faced the pool which overlooked the sea, a view you could never tire of. The room was cleaned every day and two water bottles were left as well as fresh towels every day. The staff were all lovely, very helpful and all very friendly. I don’t know what they’re paid but I’d imagine it’s not enough for the long hours they do.
The negatives: the food…it was plentiful and you’d never go hungry however, bar the lovely salads and baklava, the evening meals were mainly a daily supply of Luke warm pasta, fries, cheese pies and not particularly nice looking meat. It’s a shame as a couple of nights were great. Thanos the evening chef did fresh chicken casadeos which everyone was raving about and a lovely seafood pasta another night, then the next night there were brussel sprouts on the menu and not much else if you are vegetarian. As said, we never went hungry (I’m vegetarian and my husband only eats chicken) but the normal evening for me was cheese pie, salad and fries. We ate out a couple of times in Kos which cost around £35 per head with wine, highlighted how good Greek food can be. Another negative was in the premium area the beach bar area was very lacking. The bartender (Konstantinos) was charming and a great company, however his job was made much harder by him only having limited drinks and having to keep going into the kitchen to get mixer drinks. Getting a few drinks for our group was often a very slow experience! But we were on holiday so were in no rush, luckily!
Kos was easy to get to by using the bus which was 2 euros each way and the bus stop was only a couple of minutes walk away. They were very regular and took about 15 minutes.
Overall this is a nice hotel and really not as bad as some of the moans on here. My husband is fussy and he found it ok so that’s praise indeed! We would definitely return but a week is long enough.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week at Aeolos. We had a room in the premium area and the whole set up was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were really spacious and it was fab how the pool was so close to the sea. Allocated sun-beds just made the holiday so much better than having to rush out in the mornings.

The sea was choppy most days and great fun. The beach had a few pebbles and then it was gently shelving beautiful sand and so clear. You didn’t need sun-beds on the beach as it was so close to the premium pool.

We mostly had breakfast at the tranquillo which had a great selection and the food was always piping hot. The bar near the premium pool opened around 4.30pm which was fine as the other pool bar was close enough.

We travelled with our 13 year old daughter who absolutely loved it. She is vegetarian and was able to find enough choice to eat. The staff at the gyros grill were fantastic as they always made her a vegetarian option. We ate at the hotel every night and again the food was piping hot. A lovely selection of meats, potatoes, pastas, salads, fruit and desserts. Pretty much the same as any all inclusive we have been to.

We enjoyed the entertainment and so did our daughter. Greek night got everyone on their feet, the singer was really good, the saxophonist was very talented and lots of people dancing on DJ night. I can’t comment on cocktails because we didn’t have any but the beer was good and in a pint glass which made a nice change.

We caught the bus to Kos town which was really easy and went on the 3 island boat trip on the Christina boat which I highly recommend.

There are cats at the hotel which all look very healthy.

Cycle and car hire is available from the hotel.

I can honestly say all staff were very friendly and there are also staff constantly maintaining the grounds.

Sandwiches and cake were provided for our late arrival which we appreciated.

It was lovely and quiet at night which also made a refreshing change as we usually hear doors banging and furniture scraping above our heads at other hotels we have been to.

Everyone has the own likes and dislikes but for us, all in all it was a beautiful place, really calm and relaxing. We would definitely like to return in the future and we would definitely book the premium bungalows again.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

We are a family of 4, and we spent a week here all inclusive in the middle of May. First impressions were that the hotel is nice, clean, in a very quiet location with the Aegean Sea on the doorstep. We arrived just as lunch was finishing so the lady on reception kindly asked us to go through to the Tranquillo beach bar to grab something to eat, before we checked in. Upon check in we paid the tourist tax which was 21 euros and we (along with our luggage) were driven to our bungalow. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of wine and four bottles of water waiting for us. We were pleased to discover that the safe was free.

The main restaurant is closed until 25th May as it is the start of the season, so the hotel wasn’t very busy. However, unless you are going Premium, you need to be up early to secure a sunbed. Especially around the kids pool.

The pool bar is very disappointing. The plastic cups in which they serve your drinks are tiny, and the lager mostly froth. Constantly asking the bar staff to fill our cups was tiresome after a while. They didn’t serve any ice cream at the pool bar which was disappointing, and the snacks were tiny salad sandwiches wrapped in clingfilm, and a plate of biscuits.

The food in the beach front restaurant was very bland “samey” and lukewarm. It was a typical all inclusive buffet, and nothing to suggest it was a four star hotel.

The room was basic, which is fine. However, we had a kettle and coffee/tea but no cups to put it in, and we didn’t have any blankets on our beds. This was rectified quickly by reception staff. The maid made up our room every day and supplied clean towels and toiletries as required, but I’m not sure how often our room was cleaned. There were ants everywhere. Particularly around the bathroom.

The entertainment program is non existent, which doesn’t leave much to do after your evening meal. On one evening there was a Greek band and dancers which was good, but nothing else. The children’s park looks very tired and could do with upgrading. The giant chess game is probably the most random thing I’ve ever seen. Fortunately our children were happy enough playing in the pool during the day time, because there wasn’t anything else for them to do.

I wouldn’t stay here again, simply because I know there is better value for money elsewhere. The staff were great, as was the weather, but it is certainly not a 4 star hotel. If you are travelling with children, I would look elsewhere. If you have already booked here, I would definitely recommend upgrading to Premium.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Aeolos Beach hotel. We stayed for 2 weeks in a party of 8. 4 adults and 4 children; a 17 month old, 2 five year olds and a ten year old. We had two superior bungalows.

The bungalows were gorgeous, spacious, modern and constantly cleaned. Fresh bottled water was delivered to the room each day.
All the staff were attentive, kind and very hard working.
The food was excellent with a wide range for all our party; we especially loved the fresh Gyros!!
Entertainment was perfect our favourite was the Greek dancers!
The grounds were constantly maintained throughout our whole stay and the cleanliness was exemplary.
The swimming pools are gorgeous, big, clean and well maintained. The main pool had a lifeguard on poolside at all times- great for little ones learning to swim.
Each night we ate at the beach bar and had our evening meal watching the sunset- just stunning.
The shop was very reasonably priced with a good variety of merchandise.
The manager was always available and approachable, walking around the complex making sure everything and everyone was ok.
Kos Town is a lovely place to visit and just a short bus ride away. The bus times are available from reception and the bus stop is right outside the hotel.

What was upsetting at times was over hearing people staying at the hotel who had read the negative reviews conspiring to get money back from the holiday.

Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful stay, one we will never forget!

Booked the hotel through Jet2. Photos of pool and rooms misleading as taken from the VIP area of the site. Main pool and poolside are adequate but they are less appealing to look at apart from when lit at night.
Very clean all around the site.
Toilets in communal areas not well signposted, but very clean.
Showers available in pool area toilets.
Superior room with garden view had two single beds, with a pull out sofa bed. TV, plenty of plug sockets with USB aswell! Very clean, nothing special.
Very close to the beach but as it was rather windy we didn’t get the chance to swim in it.
Tranquillo restaurant closed on 1st Oct, so we could only eat there once; again, nothing special.
Scrambled eggs like lumpy very runny custard.
Interesting choice of vegetables for breakfast!
Main restaurant had one two slice toaster for whole hotel which kept setting the trip off on our last morning.
Consistently running out of cups and glasses for coffee and juice. Guests resorting to paper cups.
Once Tranquillo restaurant was closed all guests ate in main restaurant which was inadequately staffed and had insufficient tables.
Guests were standing a very long time waiting for a table and when one became free (quite often a guess at which one was free) guests often had to clear the table themselves.
Evening food very poor. Same thing every night. Great if you like Greek salad. We were there for a week and ate out 4 times.
Pool snacks ok,something different every day, but no choice on each day.
Beer cheap and nasty.
Wine worse.
2 x 500ml bottles of water in the room each day which can be refilled at the pool bar as frequently as you need.
One barman very grumpy but on the whole, staff friendly.

6.4 km to town centre, not 4.6 km.
Bus ticket €2 if bought on bus, €1.50 if bought in kiosk or hotel.

Shower head fell off and despite our request wasn’t repaired so we did a bodge job ourselves.

Beach/pool towels available to hire for a refundable deposit of €10 each.

Hotel arranged car hire who were very honest when we left a bag in the car when we returned it!

Booked this hotel thinking it was a nice hotel in greece, turned out just to be rubbish, photos were a lie. Lets start off with the room. They gave us the wrong one (ergo the one we paid £2000 for). Then blamed Coronavirus on it. We were sent to the room and the sheets werent on, the mattress was stained, chewing gum on the floor. We then complained and got a different one ( still just as bad as the other one ) . You only get a certain time of air conditioning, no WiFi, no 4G, 3G or 2G in the room. If your planning on doing bussiness dont go there. The food was decent and the pool was nice, but the beach was mediocre. There was an adorable kitten, gave it some water then the owner throws the water on the grass and walks off. Service is horrible, front desk was rude and talked bad about us in greek. would not recommend it to anyone especially don’t be fooled if you are offered a bungalow because they are rubbish (inhabitable)
overall this hotel should be maximum 2 star how on earth is sold four 4 star dont know
AVOID
good luck people if you go there

Premium and superior bungalows have their own sun beds reserved. I’m not sure about other guests who haven’t booked those specific rooms
