Detailed Reviews
We really enjoyed our one night at the Pension Wendelstein. We would recommend it highly to those, like us, who seek the out of the ordinary. Small, personal, friendly, and a great value. Not to be compared to some cookie-cutter hotel chain.

We stayed at Pension Wendelstein numerous times and we are always looking forward to our next stay at this lovely family run place. Comfortable and charming rooms! Good breakfast, too. Good location for excursion to Schliersee and Tegernsee.

An excellent accommodation surrounding with a good service and friendly house owners. Very clean, and in a good location. Everything is pretty close as an area but the location also helps a lot because it's in front of the main street. Pretty quite and silent rooms tho, that definitely will help you to let off some steam and relax. According with the prices of the area and from friends staying around in a bigger hotels and accommodations, I can say that it was a bit overpriced, same price as the big ones.

In January I booked two rooms here for 3 nights in July. This was part of a 3 week tour of Germany.
The Hotel is on the main road but surprisingly quiet. The first room was comfortable and had a balcony which overlooked the garden and a neighbour’s property. There is no aircon so I shut the windows at night because of the endless bell ringing from a nearby field of cows. The breakfast experience is a very strange experience. The owner brings out a few yoghurts and bread rolls at a time. I think he wants to stop people taking food out for snacks in the day but in my view he has gone over the top. A good example of this is the bread basket. It is odd trying to pick a roll from a large wicker basket with only 4 rolls to choose from. The stainless steel pots used for tea and coffee will only fill at best two very small cups. You are not offered refills. I was disappointed with the breakfast as there seemed to be a selection but deliberately limited in quantity so you felt greedy if you went up to the bar more than once.
There is a small car park is in the front of the property. My hire car had been damaged from a previous hire so I was keen to protect it from further damage so I reversed the car into a car space. The owner did not like this and asked me to forward park the car which I did. So, do not reverse park your vehicle even if it is more sensible to do so. I do not think the hotel has the right number of car park spaces to match the number of rooms and the owner’s vehicles so during busy times it may be very awkward to park your car.
However for the second room it is a very different story. 9 days prior to checkin I had to cancel this room (and all the other second rooms for the other hotels in this tour). That is when the shock came. This hotel has a 60 DAY cancellation period when a booking can be cancelled at no cost, so there was a cancellation charge of 70% of the entire booking. The other hotels on the tour allowed cancellation at no cost. So, even though this is an ok hotel, the 2 MONTH free cancellation period needs to be considered.

Our stay was the third time at Pension Wendelstein. It is a nice pension with very pleasent owner. The breakfast is perfect with many delicious salats, buns, cereals, jams etc. The location is quite perfect at all seasons. you get to various funiculars and lakes in less than 15 minutes.
Surely this was not our last stay :)

Very nice and comfortable place. We liked our spacious room (Nr.10), which I would describe as rustic modern-Bavarian. Breakfast is great and very good value for the price (€8). It is buffet only, with plenty of cold cuts, jams, cereals, sweets, yoghurt, large range of teas, and so on. You can order boiled eggs, but no fried or scrambled eggs. We slept very well in our comfortable bed. Noise level is low (despite the location next to the main road). Cute "gift shop".

I went at this adress by total random, after my car broke on the highway 2 days before christmas with my 2 years old daughter, and lost in Miesbach. I wasn't on the best mood, but I found this amazing place, very nice owners who take care of you as a member of the family, comfy room... and I felt already much better. The breakfast was exceptional, really high quality food, prepared with care... one of the best breakfast I had in years. I highly recommend this place, and not only if your car break on the highway ;)
