Just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel. I will start with the pros:- • There were always sun beds available up on the roof (adults only). Although the hotel has a ‘no reserving beds policy’, we did see people putting towels down early in the morning. The rooftop area is very relaxing, has two plunge pools, a bar and the views are great. • Inflatables are allowed in the main pool. We have stayed in hotels before where inflatables weren’t allowed and it created a very boring atmosphere, so we were pleased to see people actually enjoying themselves in the pool. There’s a shop inside the hotel just beside the pool that sells inflatables and pool noodles. • All the staff are friendly and attentive, especially the bar/restaurant staff, Lorenzo, Sara, Alfredo. • The day/night entertainment was pretty good. Live music until late outside at the front of the hotel. Plenty going on in the pool, e.g. aqua aerobics, water polo, and at the pool bar was bingo at 4pm and a show on every night around 9:30pm. I enjoyed watching Caday the acrobatic duo. • Getting a taxi was no problem at all, we asked for one at reception and it was outside within 2 minutes. It was €9 to Siam Park if you’re wanting a day out, always an amazing time there! • Location is great, just a 5 minute walk to the beach front where you’ll find a strip of bars/restaurants. There’s a market on a Thursday which is just around the corner from the hotel. For quality clothing brands there is The Duke Shops and Plaza Del Duque just a short walk away. • The hotel itself is very nice and modern. Our room was clean, good air conditioning, beds made & fresh towels every day, and the WiFi worked well with our Nintendo Switch console. Cons:- • Our only issue with the room was that the sealant on the bath/shower had come away and left us with a flood after each use. This must’ve been the case for the room above too as our bathroom ceiling was starting to crack. • All inclusive - Compared to other 4 star hotels we have stayed in before, there wasn’t much choice for AI food and drink. We were offered a discount on branded drinks and the ‘decent’ food. At the pool bar, we were limited to a small burger (most definitely didn’t look or taste like 100% meat), a piece of cheese & tomato pizza, a hotdog or some chips. If we wanted a branded ice cream, chicken tenders, onion rings or 100% beef on our burger, we had to pay extra towards it. • The food in the restaurant was ok, but the choice was hit and miss. I did manage to find something every day, and there was a good selection of cake, jelly, mousse and ice cream for dessert. I would suggest making sure the food is cooked properly as we had raw bacon for breakfast and undercooked meat at times, but thankfully we didn’t get sick from this. Overall, a good hotel. Personally, I would rate it 3.5 stars as the main letdown for us was the food quality and choice available to all inclusive. The rooms are looking a little bit tired, beds weren’t very comfy and we had an issue with leaking water. A refurb in the near future may be a good idea. Other than that, you can’t fault the staff, they really are the biggest asset to the hotel. Unless the above issues are resolved, I don’t think we’ll be returning, but nonetheless we did have a great holiday.…
Your experience at this hotel will very much depend on which room you are given. As an older couple travelling with our daughter, son in law and three year old granddaughter we were allocated adjoins rooms in a quiet area of the hotel (above the childrens play park). Our other daughter and son in law had booked separately and had a room directly above the outdoor entertainment. As a result, their room was very noisy until the entertainment finished at about 11pm every night. They didn’t mind, we would have hated it. Having made that distinction let me say that the rooms were spotless , the food selections were really excellent (we had not expected this because it was all inclusive) and I really can’t see what a person would want if they didn’t enjoy the variety available. The staff with very few exceptions were lovely. Always a smile and friendly word especially for our three year old who was treated like a princess. This is a very comfortable hotel with lovely pool facilities , ideal for groups of varied ages as there is something for everyone.…
Stayed at the GF fanabe 1st week of June 2022. 4 star hotel well worth its grading. Originally given an outside room but I asked for a change for a pool view and late sun. No problem. Immediately swapped by the reception staff who all spoke excellent English. Pool was busy with kids as it was half term but we went to the roof for the adults only ares which has 2 small pools and a bar . Drinks were reasonably priced. 3€ for a pint. The bars don't accept cash so you charge it to your room or pay by bankcard . The kids were well looked after by the entertainment team . There are two var areas . One around the main pool area where families with kids gather for the kids show and the other is outside of the entrance. A large section of tables and chairs and plenty of staff taking your drink orders. There was entertainment every night and for the week we were there the entertainment was laid back but quality. Food wise the resteraunt was quality although there was a few repeated meals but there was something for everyone and special menus for the kids ie pizza chips nuggets fish fingers . Breakfast was very busy at 9am and we queued for about 10 minutes to get in on a couple of occasions but on the whole I thought the food was great. The hotel is in the fanabe area of Costa adeji. This area is more up market than the main area of costa adeji. A right turn out of the hotel and head down a short hill and there is a strip of various bars. Two decent bars we went in was the Winchester for a drink and football and the mister sister show bar which was hilarious. The beach has various sections all with sunbeds and shades for €10. Public toilets dotted along the beach are well kept and clean. A safe Promenade runs all the way to Los christianos should you want a stroll . In conclusion we loved the gf fanabe hotel and the area and would return …
This year we noticed a lot of new furniture all throughout the hotel and on the roof garden however the new large furniture on the roof was hardly used and we think more sunbeds would have been better, having said that there was never a shortage. The food was very good and well displayed, the addition of the table cards was good because there is nothing worse than choosing a table getting a meal only to find someone else at your chosen table regardless of leaving personal items on it. The dress code is very relaxed and only was directed at the men (see pic) but unfortunately there was the odd disregard to this notice.
It does what it says on the tin. Nothing outstanding. We chose half board as we wanted to use some of the local restaurants, the food available is plentyful, but basic. Good for families. Offered the choice of swapping our evening meal for lunch which was really useful. No kettle in the room only a fridge, bit disappointing when they offer half board. Staff can be a bit militant at meal times with regards to paying for drinks! Meal times are also restricted, and you have to book a slot, which we didn't like being tied to. Also security around pool area was a bit much, guard on patrol with baton wasn't very reassuring! Our room was noisy early morning as situated above the facilities area who were receiving deliveries. Very clean, despite the balcony overlooking the rear of the hotel I was concerned it may smell due to bins etc, this was not the case at all. Roof top terrace was adults only, nice area for sun bathing, access to a plunge pool there too, water was cool but clean. Main pool area feels very built up, bit like sitting in a concrete city, sun beds are not plentyful, people try to reserve them early morning, but security remove the towels. However, if you manage to keep your sunbed past breakfast it seems no one cares after that and you can leave your towel there all day without question while you pop to the local market!! And no staff is around when guests are screaming and banging on doors during the early hours. Rather inconsistent behaviour! Good Central location.…
Our first visit to the GF FANABE both myself and my partner really enjoyed our stay! Upon arrival hotel had a lovely smell and was clean! Friendly lady checked us in at reception, room was nice and clean and the beds are also really comfy to sleep on. Only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the air con some nights getting ready for dinner and trying to sleep the room Was very hot and air con didn’t seem to be doing much could definitely do with upgrading as it seems very dated. We did have a cockroach In the bathroom one night and it made myself & my partner feel a little uneasy. Have to get down to main pool area pretty early to be able to get a sun bed as everyone leaves towels down to secure their sun beds ! I’ve never liked doing this but we both felt if we never by the time we’d had breakfast and gone back to room to get ready to chill by the pool all sun beds are gone !! Staff are all very friendly & attentive which is nice ! Food on occasions a little repetitive but there was never a time where we struggled to find something to eat. My partner did have undercooked chicken skewers one lunch time so make sure to check if cooked properly ! Drinks were really good and a nice selection of cocktails with all inclusive! We both definitely got our moneys worth. Entertainment was a little hit and miss some nights the guy with long hair and guitar was very boring and sending us both to sleep. We would definitely both return to hotel we really enjoyed our stay ! And would recommend it to family & friends.…
Second time staying here. This hotel is clean and friendly. Good selection of food and snacks. The only downfall is the entertainment. That’s a bit rubbish if you have kids. Would definitely return. Lovely part of the island. We went b&b but upgraded to all inclusive. Worth it.
We stayed in this hotel for one week with our daughter she is 6years old we really enjoyed our hotel !!! Is the best ! Beds is so soft better then ours in the house staff is so frendly cleaners doing their great job !! There so much fun for the kids in this hotel we will be back again ! :)
4th visit to this hotel with 2 children food was not as good as it had been as we were on half board, but can put that to 1 side and we had another great holiday in gf fanabe returning in Oct see u all then thanks gf.... 😁😁😁😁😁
We have been at the GF Fanabe twice before and enjoyed our holiday,We did find this year was okay. The hotel is clean and the staff are very nice but we did notice there are some repairs need sorted and in the restaurant children were running all over the place no fault of the hotel but the parents had no control. The food was okay but not up to the standard of before,
