I was looking forward to a sunny hotel after 2 years stuck at home. My son and I are exempt from wearing face masks and in preparation for the holiday I got a letter from my Dr confirming this. I told Tui at the time of booking and also emailed the hotel to find out if it would be an issue (no answer). I booked an all inclusive package with my son looking forward to the all you can eat buffets and me and my friend looking forwards to the cocktails. On arrival we were told that regardless of our Drs letter they would not let us into the buffet restaurant and were Alejandro the guest relations manager was quite rude about it and made me cry. I'd been travelling all day, it was 9pm and my 15 year old son and i were starving. Eventually we were allowed to go in if my friend dished out our food but we were told that we would not be allowed in after that. The Tui representative called them and reminded them that the Spanish law is similar to the UK law in that we don't have to wear masks but when I spoke to the guest relations manager again he said we could use room service or eat at the a la carte restaurants. You may think this is great but the restaurants were booked up most nights and "fine dining" isn't enough for teenagers with constant hunger. The room service menu did not have a choice of vegetarian meals unless you like pasta in tomato sauce. the room service took 30-75 mins to arrive, there was usually something missing and it was luke warm at best. We were on holiday with friends and when you go away with friends you want to eat together in the evenings but this wasn't possible most nights. I was not impressed at all and it ruined our holiday. On the plus side, the hotel is a lovely place, spotlessly clean. We had a 2 storey room which was really comfortable (apart from the electrics throwing a hissy fit at 3.30am one morning and everything flashing on and off every few seconds like a disco). There were some very grumpy staff but also some lovely ones. A big shout out to Adelaide on reception who was more than very helpful every time we saw her. I don't remember the names of all the others but the staff in the Barbacoa restaurant (esp the Italian gentleman and the one working in Poseidon in the evenings as well) and Antonio in the bar were also helpful. I will not travel again until the mask situation is over and probably not back to this hotel as i have bad memories of it now. We didn't feel welcome.

I just returned from my second trip to the Anthelia in a month's time. My first trip was a girls' weekend in September, and we had such a brilliant time, I brought my family back for a long weekend a month later - we all loved it! The Anthelia is an all-around winner in my eyes: - Easy to get to from Tenerife Sur airport: 15 - 20 minutes in a taxi; easy-peasy - Situation/Location: The Anthelia sits pretty much in the middle of Costa Adeje, and has incredible views of the coastline. The grounds are isolated and private, but has a gate that leads directly on to the promenade from which you can walk to the beach and loads of restaurants and bars. The promenade itself is actually a 10 km stretch which stretches from from Los Cristianos to Caleta - completely lit and safe to run/walk even in the early hours, when I did my morning runs. Lots of locals our early walking their dogs and running/walking. - Quality: The hotel is generally very modern and clean. I have stayed in two different types of rooms now, and both were very clean with modern showers and sinks. The beds are very comfortable; much better than many hotels. I also applaud the environmental efforts Iberostar has taken by doing away with single use plastic bottles for shampoos and conditioners - these were still available but in di

We stayed at the Anthelia for a week at the end of September. This was our first visit to Tenerife and we were so impressed. The hotel is ideally situated … the back gate took you immediately on to the promenade and shops and restaurants were nearby. Costa Adeje is so clean and has a beautiful coastline. The hotel was spotless and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We were HB and the choice of food each day was unbelievable and cooked to perfection. (We never ate anywhere else) . We would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to be back again next year.

We stayed at The Anthelia on the 8th October for 10 nights and what a pleasure it was from start to finish. Spotless hotel great food and drinks all served with a smile, a very special mention to Mihaela what a credit she is to the hotel and herself went above and beyond to help make our holiday a memorable one. She is a very special person so just give her a pay rise. Weather was great very comfortable sun lounger’s warm and cold pool and no need to reserve beds. Great Elton John tribute act , and the pool aerobics team were brilliant. All in all great hotel great staff great time, ps thanks Mihaela xx.
