Cayley lodge is absolutely beautiful. The chalet was clean and very comfortable. Wifi was good. Theres a generator during certain hours of loadshedding. ( we however couldn't find any candle holders when needing the candles) There is a variety of activities which was great. However...the road there is horrendous. Lots of potholes and frankly, not even a road. I will not advise if your vehicle is not an SUV or 4×4 . Sadly ...we will never return unless the road is fixed. It is a better option to stay in the Drakensberg Sun area.

The road to the resort was terrible. The service was not up to standard. The room had no wifi at all. A sense of racism was noticed on several occasions. On the positive side the rooms were clean and comfortable. Don't go if you don't have a suitable vehicle for the gravel road.

Hi G7918KUyasminh, thank you for your review. We are terribly sorry for the aspects that negatively impacted your stay, and reiterate that our Resort does not condone nor entertain racism or discrimination in any form. Regarding the Wi-Fi, guests are urged to report such to us while on-site, so that we can assist in rectifying this. We also understand that the access road can be tricky to navigate, however we remain in communication with local authorities to have this resolved. We deeply regret falling short of your expectations, but look forward to providing you with the kind of exceptional holiday experience that we are known for, in the future.

The resort is nice .However , on arrival my room wasn’t cleaned (this was at 17:00) . The receptionist was kind and accommodated us in another room for the night . The next day the same thing happened. We went out in the morning and when we got back at 14:30 my room wasn’t clean.

We arrived at 16:30 on 15 December 2023 at Cayley Lodge from Pretoria as the booking-in is allowed only from 15:00. The reception personnel was friendly and professional as allways and informative. We received the information and the key of our Unit 6 for the week. However, the Unit 6 was not ready when we arrived to offload our luggage. We took it up with Reception and received a complimentary coffee from Cayley Lodge. Soon thereafter, Unit 6 was ready for us as guests for the week not even 20 minutes later.

This is a very beautiful destination with the most spectacular views of the Drakensburg. There is also a lot of activities for everyone at the lodge. The only bad part is the road to reach the Lodge is very bad with more potholes than road. The units is beautiful.

Hi Dirk, thank you for trusting us with your holiday. We are thrilled to know that you enjoyed the stunning accommodation and spectacular views at the resort. We do understand the pesky state of the public road, and this is mostly due to the remote location of our resort. Likewise, it was a pleasure hosting you, and we'd love to welcome you back soon 😍

I have been to Caley Lodge for many years. It has stunning views, modern homes and wonderful activities. This was my first bad experience with the lodge. House no. 4 had flies all over the kitchen and lounge. We had requested for us to move to another home but according to the receptionist there was no availability. She suggest an insect spray. It was a cold weekend and I was looking forward to the splash pool. Unfortunately it was not working. The outside table was burnt at certain points. It looked as if someone had placed a 3 legged pot on the table cause there was 3 holes in a triangular shape on the table. The bathrooms were not in good condition as per the pic. The sofa was torn on the corner. Believe me caley has some of the best holiday homes but this one needs some serious repairs and maintenance.

Hi Mobile08217238051, thank you for your valued feedback. It is always a pleasure hosting you, but we are terribly sorry that your most recent stay fell below the kind of fantastic experience you have come to expect. Regrettably, when the resort is at full capacity, it is a little difficult to accommodate a unit change. We have taken note of all your concerns, which are currently being investigated and addressed both by housekeeping and maintenance. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention, and we look forward to exceeding your expectations during your next visit!

Beautiful, serene place to be. We enjoyed each and every moment there. It was our second time there. I always look forward to visit the area. We went for massages, a lovely experience. Thankfully very much for the warm welcome, the competent staff always available to assist with the cleaning and everything.

A Beutiful resort with great views and a couple of things to do and see in the area. There is also nice eateries in the area. The only negative is that the Resort Restaurant did not have steak, ribs, trout, youghurt and pork sausages for the first two days of our stay. The Manager recons he cannot make a plan as they depend on Bidfood deliveries. We will be back as we enjoyed the stay.

What a pleasant surprise . After reading all the reviews we were a bit concerned. But the only truly bad part is the last two kilometres of road before the entrance to the Resort . The place is well maintained , staff are attentive and any issues we had with our Villa was sorted out in a few minutes . The villas are spacious , modern in design and most have amazing views . We enjoyed the Spa and a da mom cruise .Loud neighbours were dealt with ( without us saying a word !! ) . Well done to management and staff - let the council sort the road out and all will be fine .

Hi Godfrey, thank you for pleasant feedback! We're so happy to have exceeded your expectations, and that our team was able to take great care of you during your relaxing mountain retreat 😃. Our guests deserve the best in comfort, complete with serenity and we're glad that staff members were able to resolve any slight issues for you immediately. The access road can be a bit pesky due to our remote location, and we are still in appeal with the local municipality to have this resolved. We loved hosting you and cannot wait for your next memorable getaway with us!

Cayley Lodge is an awesome place. A few Things that need attention, No fire blanket in the kitchen, the open shower caused the towels on the rack to get wet and the floor tiles were very slippery. If not careful water from the shower could affect the bedroom carpet. Pity that the road to Cayley is so bad.

Hi dlangsford1955, thanks so much for leaving us this valuable feedback! We are super pleased that our gorgeous resort provided an enjoyable holiday for you, and have communicated your suggestions with the relevant management teams. Unfortunately, the pesky state of the road is largely due to our resort's remote location, and we do regret any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your support and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back real soon!
