The accommodation at Champagne Valley Resort was everything that was hoped for. Three bedroom, three bathrooms and loads of space - all clean and well maintained with everything available for a home away from home. Activities could be planned according to the weather as brochures were received when booking in and eating out was as easy as taking a stroll to the next door resort. For the energetic, tennis courts, pool, a games room and putt-putt is available on site and golf can be played next door. Staff is friendly and very helpful.
Absolutely wonderful weekend away at Champagne Valley Resort. The accommodation is excellent with all the required furniture, fittings and appliances. The resort is situated close to all the necessary sites, walks and outdoor experiences.
This is a clean, spacious, green, quiet, exclusive and beautiful place to holiday. The owners and workers are very friendly and helpful. Clean two swimming pools. Tennis court and a lot more. This is a reasonably priced luxury well worth it
We stay there one winter & it was great it started to snow & it was amazing just to see it. the staff would come in the mornings & sort out the the fire place & make i nice warm fire for the rest of the day
Plenty to do. Went horse back riding and white water rafting.they have many more fun activities to do. Peaceful and beautiful place. The chalets are clean and cosy. Also have a camping area for you to bring your own caravans and tents of you prefer not to stay in the chalets.
We stayed at this hotel twice. The first time we really enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful and the hotel facilities were adequate. The food was amazing and the kids were kept entertained by the rabbits on the property. The communal lounges with the log fireplaces were great especially on a cold winter evening. However on our second visit, we stayed for 3 nights and did not enjoy dinner during our stay. The food was not flavourful and there was not a great selection. Would still recommend this hotel for its location and facilities but sincerely hope that there is much improvement in the dining.
Timeshare self catering accommodation swop. Lovely unit. Be sure to ask for a unit with a shower, that is if you shower. Buffet restaurant available. Many restaurants in the area. Particularly good value Monks Cowl Resort - specials on certain days, and Dragon Peaks Restaurant (caravan park) also specials on certain days. Lots of walks. Excellent golf course, a number of swimming pools, bowling green, spa, etc.
At first after I booked our accommodation at CVR I was a little worried as so little appeared on the internet in the form of reviews.......well after booking in and staying here it soon became very apparent why? It is a piece of Eden that few wish to share. WOW! We hit on a luck here - BIG TIME! In all honesty out of all the timeshare and other establishments we visited in the central Drakensberg, CVR is rated TOP OF THE CLASS. Our 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom chalet was spacious, well equipped and well maintained. The grounds and gardens are extremely well maintained and look colourful and lush. The chalets are well spaced so one is not on top of your neighbour and you wonder if someone is really next to you as the peace and tranquility is out of the top drawer and just what we…
Our group of eight adults stayed here for 7 nights over New Year. We were delighted to find accommodation available as it was only booked mid December! We were more than happy with our 3 bedroom 3 bathroom unit. Not luxury but clean comfortable and above all spacious and had everything we needed. Sleeper couch not the most comfortable however. Our unit wasn't overlooked by neighbouring units so felt very private. Scenery breathtaking in the area. Great hiking in the area and great golf at Champagne Sports. We will definitely return when next visiting SA.
CVR is a well appointed timeshare complex in the Drakensberg that I have been going to for the past 25 years. We like the point that it is away from the madding crowds. My kids have learned to play on the adjacent golf course, but now that they are older they prefer to play at the more upmarket Champagne Sports. Walks and bike rides keep the family active, or we spend the days lazing and watching sport on the small flat screen TV. The resort is comfortable and very well maintained and there is always enough in the valley to keep a family busy. Sadly there is very poor cellular internet in the valley, and there is wireless limited to the reception area. For those of us that need to keep in contact for work purposes or a traveler that is planning their next leg, this is a…
