Wonderfully situated resort , just on the hill above the Sports resort. There are beautiful views of the Drakensberg , and easy access to the rest of the Drakensberg. The chalets are well built. The rooms are neat and well maintained. The restaurant is reasonably priced, with a good varied menu.
Situated off the main road and adjacent to Monks Cowl golf course is this small resort with 21 units. The units are well spaced so you are not on top of your neighbors. The units are well equipped with all the basic necessities, they are clean but a bit on the tired side. They could certainly do with a spruce up. Having said that it was comfortable and relaxing. You need to take your own towels if you want to swim which was not mentioned on the booking info. There is no shop or restaurant on the premises and you have to drive to buy supplies. All in all it was pleasant and I would be back
Chalets are large with 3 separate bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The view of the mountains is spectacular and you are able to use the facilities of the Monks CowlGolf Resort. The resort itself has much to occupy children during winter or summer.
Champagne Valley Resort has wonderful views of the mountains We had a very relaxing time at the resort and the area around The units... More like houses is very spacious... With separate loung and dinning room, lovely patio Clean and neat Only negative - no shop... Will have to go to nearby small supermarket to buy Bread, milk or even icecream or sweets
I have visited this resort many times since 1988 and have never been dissapointed. There is so much to do at the resort and the surrounding areas that one week stay only just gives you enough time to explore this beautiful part of the Central Drakensburg. It has a kids play room and is connected to the Monks Cowl Country Club which has a fine golf course.
Excellent place. Beautiful, well equiped spacious units. 3 bed, 3 bath. Beautiful, well kept gardens. No stairs makes it accesable for the elderly. Great view of The Berg from the stoep and all the rooms. Only drawback, and the resort can do nothing about it: veld fires has caused so much smoke that you can hardly make out the Berg.
Quite resort with lots to do for kids, and would be great in summer months to catch some sun and use the pool! Driving range is a big plus and can kill a few hours in no time! Units are spacious, clean and well equipped! Very centralized and close to most things to do in the area! Friendly and helpful staff!!
We have just came back from a lovely family holiday at Champagne Valley Resort! We have been to many other resorts in the area, but never to Champagne Valley Resort and were initially aprehensive to book. But were were NOT disappointed at all! The views were awesome and facilities were lovely. The staff was VERY accommodating. They organised that our two units were next to each other so that our family could be together. The cleaning staff were very friendly. We had tyre issues and the maintenance team were helpful! Can't wait for our next visit!
We were here for 5 days (Monday through Friday) as the base from which we could explore the Valley and its attractions. The weather was cool but clear which allowed us to explore the outside attractions as well. The Champagne Valley facilities are very good--the cottage was big enough for 6 people and very appropriately equipped for that number. The cottage was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. we looked out onto a large lawn with a view of the dam on the neighbouring property. We will be very happy to visit again if the opportunity arises.
Excellent resort set in the Drakensberg Mountains. Peaceful getaway from the city life. Very comfortable timeshare units & child friendly. Well maintained, spacious & well equipped chalets which can sleep 6 people. Staff at the resort are friendly & very accommodating. Many amenities in & around the resort.
