We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages while working in the area. It was super comfortable with all our needs. We especially love the tranquil shady gardens. It is also hard to find such quality at such a great price

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at this lodge.
Everything was so clean and if anything was left around by us it was tidied up shortly afterward by very thorough cleaning staff.
We loved the braai and pool area and the friendliness of everyone who works there.
Could not have asked for better accommodation.

The accommodation is well kept & clean. It's also spacious with a large kitchen table where we enjoyed our dinners and breakfast.It's a great place to stay if you're looking to visit cathedral peak or Central Drakensberg as it's about 45km away. It's convenient and 600m away from shops.

1. On arrival we confirmed about the breakfast which my wife paid R200 for. The owners told us they were not allowed to serve breakfast. On departure, we asked for our R200 back and we were told it only R60 to claim back as the prices we were quoted were wrong.

We arrived after dark and later than planned, but Susan was welcoming and recommended a good place for supper. The gardens are beautiful. We took lots of photos in the morning. We especially appreciated the emergency lighting during load shedding. I highly recommend Lilac Lodge!

Very nice & cozy place, owners are very friendly and chatty. Easy to find too, with easy access to the main roads. Also walking distance from the local town. I found the rooms to be well appointed with all the facitlities needed for a self catering room. Very clean too.

A pleasant little guest house.
We had incredible service from Susan - she went the extra mile to make sure we had everything. Well priced and situated. Rooms were clean and serviced the next day

Well situated, easy to find. Very affordable.Friendly staff , the owner was friendly and welcoming.She informed us about all possible activities.My kids enjoyed the pool and playing with Zulu the roaster.Our cottage spacious with well equipped kitchen. I booked a room for my husband and son for a fishing weekend at Spioenkop dam. Susan was very kind and made them both very welcome. They enjoyed their short stay in Winterton. We will certainly book again on future fishing trips.
