Lovely Guesthouse close to the centre of Caledon. In a beautiful garden setting with swimming pool. Surrounded by grape vines and chickens. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was awesome. Free parking in a secure area. Will stay here again. The cottage has a fire place which was a bonus in the evening.

The service and staff in general are really friendly and try their best to assist, however hotel is old and needs upgrading. Hotel was fully booked and ran out of towels which was really poor management as they should have allowed for this. Restaurant availability is really poor after covid.

The Rooms: Rooms are very dated, dusty and not worth R2000 per night at all. Tiles in the bathroom were broken, towels were hard and did not smell clean. The toilet made a weird noise every couple of minutes. The bed was the furthest thing from comfortable and the pillows felt as if they were just filled with air. The service: A lot can be done to improve on service. We asked the front desk for wine glasses but we were told to go and fetch it ourselves at the bar upstairs. Only one restaurant was operating but the service was terrible. No kiddies menu meant that the kids were forced to order adult portions. No drinks menu either yet the waitress was annoyed because she had to repeat the offering to us a few times. The waiting time for the food was ridiculously long and the food wasnt great either. Breakfast was served at the same restaurant but was really nothing to write home about. We were even asked to pay for coffee which should have been included. I have stayed at the hotel before and I can definitely say that the standard has dropped by A LOT. I understand that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted this industry but I have stayed at establishments over this time and this was by far the worst experience and I am really annoyed that it costed that much.

After a week of little sleep, exhaustion we thought of just visiting Caledon Spa and drove all the way from the Cape, we booked our tickets and only to experience the Steam room not working, no beverages at the reception to purchase, filthy shower, the sun loungers full of Mudd and positioned next to the jacuzzi in the sand and clay water, only to realize my friend experienced the same about the sun loungers a week before that and mentioned she asked can't they 1. Clean the loungers 2. Move it out of the Mudd. The Sauna room watering system were also faulty or not properly working and we barely had any privacy as there were more then 4 people in the Sauna. We had a terrible experience and will not reccomend the facility. Brentino Hannes 0780233991
