I took a life-changing two hour golf lesson with head pro Kevyn Cunningham. He analyzed my swing, identified the problems and taught me how to fix them in clear language and demonstrations. Absolutely remarkable. I also used the excellent practice facilities and played a quick 9 holes a few days later. Kevyn also followed up to check on my progress! Highly recommend.

Half Moon is a special place... I don't think I can put into words the magic that is Half Moon. Serenity, Idyllic, Paradise all are fitting descriptions. It has the feel of being secluded, so if you want to feel calm private serenity... you can have it! But if you'd like to find some fun and activities, they have that that too. PROs: -Safe, Lush, beautiful, big property with activities/options to make anyone happy. -Impressive Covid Protocols to keep guests safe. (Many employees shared they were already vaccinated as well.) -Modern rooms in the Eclipse or traditional rooms in Founders Cove (also there are Villas and 2 other sections that were being renovated while we were there). -Expert, Wonderful Staff: Many have been with the resort a very long time. They are experienced, genuine, kind and happy to help make your vacation great. -Several great Restaurants (thought some are closed until November 2021 because of covid/low occupancy). -Excellent Wifi all over the resort. CONs -Food was a bit pricey, you can find/choose less expensive options, but if you are very cost sensitive, you might prepare yourself. -Drinks were not cheap ($10-14 USD) but they were strong and big, so it's like ordering a double. -If you are looking for the "all inclusive" experience, this might not be the right spot for you. -The resort is requiring Masks indoors (even if you are fully vaccinated) so if you are strongly Mask adverse, you might be frustrated. We are grateful for the covid protocols that have allowed the country to open safely to tourists. The masks are worth the trip and outdoors you have plenty of space to unmask. The new Eclipse part of the resort (where we entered), is beautiful! You enter the secure gate to lush landscaping and a thoughtful layout. The staff is exceptional at every turn. The Eclipse Great House is beautiful with fantastic views. There aren't any high rises at Half Moon, so when you look around, you see palm trees, beach, sky and lots of flowers. We choose to stay at Founders Cove Cottages, which we enjoyed very much. They have a more traditional style and are steps from a great beach. We love getting in the ocean, so this was a good fit for us. We spent a lot of time at the Eclipse Pool, too; it's large, beautiful, fun and has an awesome view of the ocean as well. Lovely pool side seating with cocktail service. I noticed many couples, groups of friends, and families. One family we spoke with said they believe the childcare at Half Moon is superior to other resorts in the Caribbean because the staff has many fun things planned with the kids. Their son (who was 3.5) loved going and the parents loved a little kid-free break. We were a couple traveling without our kids. I've noticed some resorts are either great for kids or great for adults, but Half Moon is one of the very few that does both well. There is so much space, I felt tranquility/fun without being overrun by little people. (Love kids, but sometimes you just want to relax in the quiet, right?!) We are planning to come back with our family because I'd feel safe having my tween/teen kids enjoying activities and I think my kids will LOVE IT. Food was delicious, but not inexpensive. We choose not to have the meal plan, but I might look at that more closely on our next trip. There are so many high-quality activities at Half Moon. Golf Course, equestrian center, tennis, and water sports (with included snorkeling/paddle boarding and Hobie Catamarans and snorkeling tours for a fee) can be organized at the resort. Snorkeling just a few minute boat-ride from Half Moon we saw Sting rays, sea urchins and lots of fish and coral. It's not the great barrier reef, but it was enjoyable! There are lots more activities; those were our favorites. Recommendations: -The Hotel will email you a couple weeks before your trip, you might ask the concierge about activities at the resort and sign up for some that interest you. We waited until we arrived to sign up, which also worked fine. You can Download the Resort App and see activities available too! -Jamaican Beach BBQ was excellent; sign up for that for sure! -We loved our food at the "upscale" restaurants on property: DelMonico and the Sugar Mill. You might ask about the dress code and be sure you've packed the right clothes for the upscale restaurants (I think for men it's pants and close-toed shoes.) -Bring a comfy Mask, because Jamaica is still very Masked, when we went. -Fantastic Spa! Sign up for a service and go early to sit in the relaxation room or the neat pool in the Spa. -In June, it rained for a bit each afternoon around 2pm. This was a great time to enjoy a late lunch and watch the rain, take a nap, or get a service at the Spa. That lush landscape needs the water, so we planned waterfront activities earlier in the day to beat the rain. It clears out by later afternoon/evening for beautiful sunsets. -We loved having a golf cart to toodle around the resort and explore. 400 acres is a lot of space! -Mosquitos love me... a lot. They only seemed to come out for about an hour at dusk. I brought some Off, but the kind staff also provided it during the witching hour at my request. I've been to some islands where the biting bugs ruined the vacation, that was NOT the case in Jamaica. They were annoying for a short time. But if you are a mosquito magnet (like me) you might want to have a repellent plan during that time. If you book at Half Moon, you won't regret it. We must mention some staff members who made our stay especially wonderful. We can't wait to visit you again, friends! Concierge: Wade, Reception: Kristen, Lifeguard: Conroy, Beach Bar: Rinnardo, Lesters Bar: Kevin, North Point: Tricia & Delicia, Haywards: Sherrian, Joy, Valet: Wayne & Ralston, Sugar Mill: Connor, Spa: Karlene S & Jennifer (my husband said best massage of his life). I'm also forgetting several AMAZING staff members. Next time, I'll remember to keep a list so I don't forget to highlight you. It was clear their goal was to make our vacation as special as possible. The great training from the management is clearly working! Keep up the great work!

Visited The Half Moon Resort again and stayed this time at the newly opened Eclipse. I am a physician and very concerned about Covid precautions even though I am fully vaccinated. First and foremost the staff was simply amazing! Covid precautions were over and above what I expected. The service impeccable and I visited all the restaurants, has room service, the spa and the gym. There is absolutely nothing but high marks for this luxury resort! I must say that the pristine cleanliness of the resort, lushness of the property and the staff from the time you enter “scream” luxury but also home and attn to detail. I’ve always loved Half Moon and even more so now adore the Eclipse! Will return soon and definitely worth every penny! Great value for the luxury and set ice and extremely safe!

10/10. What more can I say? Idyllic, charming, an oasis, cycle, walk, run...just all at one's leisure. Gardens are beautiful. Everything in one place...I am not sure if it is under new management, but keep up the good work Half Moon. Always happy to be a repeat customer.

Loved… Loved… Loved this resort! We stayed at Half Moon Eclipse. Staff was so friendly and everyone knew our names wherever we went. I have high standards when it comes to food and food prep… breakfast, lunch, dinner, and room service were all phenomenal. This resort offers lots of space, room for privacy, so many beach options, and amazing drinks. Rooms were large and luxurious. Everything was so clean and meticulous. We booked another week for later this year after our vacation was over. Worth every dime!
