This place is PERFECT!!! In every which way. The best part is the parties at the end of the day you don’t have to leave the resort the Dj Dwight is the bomb he’ll mix the music different genres so everyone can dance to a song they know. Room service food is good and comes in very handy after a long day of swimming and dancing. Everyone is polite and will ask if you need anything. The different parties throughout the day. The workouts in the pool. I’ll definitely be coming back perfect vacation spot.

We visited Jewel Grande for a week with our 13 and 15 year old daughters and enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed in one of the Villas which was plenty of room for the 4 of us and the private plunge pool that we used daily. As other reviews have already mentioned, the service and people is what really pulls this place together. A few people who made our trip extra special: * Dwight, Delando, and Alicia with entertainment - they always bring a smile to your face and kept everyone busy and having fun with pool and beach games daily. Awesome people! * Garon & Mr. G - our villa butlers - anything we needed, they were on it. We had an issue getting the results from one of our covid tests, and it was really nice to just message them through WhatsApp and have it taken care of, so we could continue our vacation. * Chantelle & Suline - beach service - we rented a cabana each day because we're not exactly a family that tans real well. Anything we needed, drinks, lunch, daily packed cooler and their smiling faces were right there. * Gary - lobby bar - We loved visiting with Gary every night before and/or after dinners. He always had a special drink for our girls and kept the drinks flowing for me and my wife as well. Great guy! Favorite restaurants were Waves, Moonstone, and Pierside, but food was great everywhere. We'll miss everyone at Jewel Grande and look forward to visiting again soon.

A long review, but so many wonderful things to say! We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 nights at the Jewel Grande! We traveled with our 2 teens (ages 13 & 16). We originally booked an oceanview 2 bd unit, but upgraded to an oceanfront unit after our first night, as we wanted a full view of that beautiful Caribbean sea! Upgrading at the resort proved to be MUCH less costly than trying to do it thru Costco Travel! The upgrade was worth it! An incredible view & no street noise from the busy highway. Our room was beautiful & spacious. Very clean. Included a washer & dryer, which was great (though loads take a long time!). Butler service was prompt & friendly, though we used it minimally; mostly for morning coffee. (Lenroy Davis & Ronald Flether were awesome!) ACTIVITIES The staff at the Jewel Grande was what made our trip so much fun! Dwight & Delando in Entertainment work hard to help guests have fun & feel welcomed! There are daily games & activities, along with nightly shows & various entertainment, including dancing each evening after the main show. There is something for everyone! Our teens were never bored. In fact, they said it was their best vacation yet! It felt like adult summer camp, where you don’t want to leave because of all the fun and the great people you met! FOOD The food was good overall, but not the best we have had at an all-inclusive. The specialty restaurants were excellent however! We ate at each one but particularly enjoyed the steakhouse & the hibachi at the Pierside restaurant. Waves also had delicious food. The buffet for breakfast & lunch had lots of variety but was so-so in my opinion. During the day, we especially loved to order Jerk Chicken Wraps from the Fiery Pelican grill & jamaican patties (similar to a meat pie) from Crickets. The kids loved getting iced coffees & ice cream at the Sugar Cane shop. Servers were constantly combing the beach to bring you cool drinks on the sand! Sania in beach service always kept us well-hydrated. Lol! She is a very hard worker! The service throughout the resort was phenomenal! The staff work hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible! Make sure to bring lots of tip money. We learned that minimum wage in Jamaica is $60 a WEEK. These folks work hard & we enjoyed rewarding their efforts, though it never ever seemed expected! EXCURSIONS The package we booked thru Costco came with a credit for Chukka excursions, which we didn’t end up using. Instead, another guest recommended Dr. Fun Tours & we booked with him directly through his website (ochoriostoursjamaica.com) so that he didn’t have any additional fees taken out. TripAdvisor & 3rd party agencies charge the merchant up to 30% of their revenue when tours are booked through said 3rd party. Dr. Fun (Delton) was incredible! We were SO glad we booked with him! He was willing to negotiate our tour price (though we ended up choosing to pay him the full rate bc he was so awesome!) He drove clear across the island to transport us to/from Dunns River Falls & Blue Hole, providing cultural, historical & geographical overviews throughout. We were the only family on the tour that day, so we had his air conditioned van all to ourselves. He even stopped along the way to let us shop for souvenirs & bought us a tasty local treat called hellitop (sp?) to try. He is a hardworking, honorable family man, who was hit hard by Covid restrictions & is now trying to get back to normalcy. COVID & GENERAL SAFETY Jamaica as a whole was opening up increasingly at the time we traveled (early June). Don’t let the US Embassy reports scare you! We felt 100% safe in Jamaica & at the resort. The entire resort did a great job with regard to covid safety. We had to mask walking into/out of restaurants & when ordering at the buffets. We were encouraged to mask while indoors. Sometimes we did, sometimes we didn’t. But all the staff was extremely diligent to always be masked. Covid testing prior to departure was smooth, simple & results were provided via email within an hour or two. Prior to arrival, we got the free Covid Rapid ID tests at Walgreens & those were accepted by Jamaica for entry. Really, there seemed to be a lot of covid-related hype prior to travel, but once we were in Jamaica, it was really not a big deal. Overall, we rated it as an excellent place to vacation! And like so many other reviews, it was the staff & service that made Jewel Grande stand out!

Let me begin by saying this - don't walk, run, to Jewel Grande! I apologize for this lengthy review. Before our stay even began, we were overwhelmed by the quality of service provided by Shanique when organizing our private dinner and photoshoot. We hit a snafu and were comped some spa day passes and a room upgrade (including 2 butlers) upon check in. To reiterate, this was before our trip even began! Our butlers, Garon and Gashado were available to us whenever we needed them. We communicated via Whatsapp and every morning, we were sent the menu of daily activities before we were even awake. The first day we had fish tacos and habanero mango wings to hold us over before dinner - both were delicious. At night, we had our private dinner which was served by Stewart. He is a lovely, polite and accommodating gentleman who left us wanting for nothing. The food was spectacular! We had crab cakes, Caesar salad, steak and shrimp, chicken and shrimp, chocolate cake and I requested a fruit plate after being stuffed. Like other reviews have stated, the steaks are cooked PERFECTLY. The second day we had our photoshoot by Stephen which yielded some gorgeous beachside shots to mark our time there. He made us feel comfortable and had great ideas for photos - please book with him, you will not be disappointed. After the shoot, we went over to the Jamaican street party where we were served curry mutton, oxtail, escovitch fish, steamed fish, jerk chicken, festival, rice and peas among other island fare down to the Caribbean fruit cake and gizzada for dessert. All of this while a Jamaican band sang lovers rock in the background - we were in heaven. Our final day was a beach day. Garon and Gashado arranged our breakfast on the balcony, they stocked our fridge with coconuts, we went to the spa for a bit and enjoyed the privacy of the salt room and mineral pool, we hung out in a palapa while they brought our lunch over (more steam fish and escovitch fish - I highly recommend this), we went on a sailboat ride and then got ready for dinner. We dined at the hibachi restaurant and it was delicious. Even better than in the states because they used more seasoning and less salt - the spicy hibachi sauce was to die for, please request this. The meats were all prepared perfectly and the rice was amazing. Had we known, we would've eaten here multiple times. Gashado was able to fulfill our order of something which wasn't on the menu and had it delivered to the room before we even got back. We enjoyed nightly entertainment and the after parties. There was something for everyone here. We did see a few (well behaved) children but this is such a romantic resort. We would go look at the stars every night after dinner and take it all in. The service and hospitality were unmatched. We were casually walking out after our Covid test (pain free and easy!), when the GM called us by name and asked if we liked our upgrades. We were taken aback. Staff was constantly checking in and making sure we were taken care of. My only (personal) gripe was that some of the outdoor dining staff were wearing long sleeve and it was clearly uncomfortable. Tip to management, it would be great if they were also allowed to wear short sleeve like other staff for comfort. I cannot stress how amazing the hospitality, service and food were. We are planning to return later in the year and we look forward to seeing everyone again.

I have to say , I’ve been to many resorts in other countries but Jamaica has been the best , thanks to this resort and more importantly two staff members part of the entertainment team who stood out the most , Dwight (Mr President) and Delando ! These two have made the trip for my friends and I absolutely unforgettable ! There’s two types of people at work , people who just do their job and people who do what they love and these two have definitely showed they love what they do !
