This was our second visit to Silver Cloud. On our first visit we stayed in one of the homes and on our second visit, we stayed in the chalets at the main lodge. The nice thing about Silver Cloud is the close proximity to JHB and PTA, you find yourself in the middle of BEAUTIFUL bushveld with lovely accommodation, much needed air-conditioning and a relaxing environment. However. This is now our second visit, and similar to the first time, we've found that the management, specifically Andre and his female colleague are not friendly to the guests. Ex.How hard is it to greet a guest back in the morning, instead of having your eyes glued to your phone and giving a grunt like sound back. There is somewhat of a irritated mood towards guests. This made us feel unwelcome ,and discouraged to spend time at the main lodge, restaurant/bar. Drop the attitude, and focus a bit on your paying customers.
For such a beautiful venue, its truly a shame that it must be let down by miserable people in charge of guest relations. Luckily there are MANY other lodges to take our friens and family in future. Goodbye Silver Cloud. Good luck future guests.

The lodge, facilities, back of house staff and food was amazing! Babsie & Andre have been the rudest, most inhospitable, unfriendly management staff I have ever dealt with. Babsie did not even get out of her chair and stand up to greet us on arrival. Main area a mess. Rubble in front of chalet 10. Conference room filthy. Guests been stuck at gate 20 minutes, no-one was answering their phones.
Woken up with loud gospel music playing at the main lodge at 7h30. We were not informed that lunch would not be available on Saturday afternoon. No staff were helping to set up table for reception dinner and when I asked where the staff are and why they not assisting I got a defensive reply of ‘what are they supposed to do’.Staff sit around main areas, some playing pool. Guests had to wait to play pool, when asking if they could play they got an answer ‘you can when we finished’. Management did they show their faces during the reception once to check how everything was going or check. My brother in law made coffee in his chalet and then came to the main building to greet fellow guests but forgot to put sugar in his coffee. When he asked if he could get some he was told that he would be charged for a teaspoon of sugar. Later I had another friend who has a toddler and made her tea but unfortunately the milk they bought went sour. She went to the main lodge and asked for a bit of milk in the bottle for tea and was also told no, she had to pay for it. They then had to pay for 1 litre. There was no tea or coffee served with breakfast and when one of my guests asked if there would be available, was replied with ‘you paying for a R55 bfast’. We did not expect this to be included and we would have been more than happy to pay for coffee or tea but the reaction from the staff is totally unacceptable. There was no water most of the weekend at Zebra house We would be disappointed for other guests to have the misfortune of this experience.

The chalets were beautiful but did not meet our expectations, we expecting that the chalet will have a little bit of privacy Thank you to management for offering a second chalet as complimentary due to their vehicle not being available for us to do a game drive. Please note that there are lots of bugs, mosquitos and spiders on the wall. The lodge management should consider to put in some Multi-Insect Killer sprays
The chalets had bid of small inside especially the carpets and the bathroom
I have been in communication with Gerhard Telephonically , we arrived late and made arrangements with the him to arrive late , Please note that the lodge closes their gate 22H00 and guest have to make arrangement for late arrivals.
Overall , I found the lodge management to be very unfriendly, They did not bother to come and great us , to check us during breakfast and to check whether their guest happy. we bought a daddy s deal voucher and our overall experience was okay and not the best at all
please be aware Their food menu doesn't have variety, their about 1:30 minutes from Bela Bela , they have a very exhausting gravel road to get to their lodge .
I will never return to the lodge overall service is poor.

Beautiful place in the pictures all perfect oh NO, the real place is in shambles!
1 .Arrived at 7 pm almost dark , no one at the gate to open and receive us, 20 minutes later poor Amen ( his name ) comes
2. Guess what , there's load shedding as it is everywhere in SA, but guess what No provision made for guests, no single light to at least find our way to the bathroom, no alternative power so we go to sleep. Amen comes in the morning at 5am , he forgot to put up the main switch , that's why we slept in the dark , slit my wrists!
3. The water does not pump because there's no electricity so we can't shower after 3 hours.
4. Stove is broken , there's plenty cutlery and crockery I must say
5. Place has not been cleaned at all to welcome guest, spider webs around showers and roof.
It's a 1/10 rating what a horrible place. Spacious for 15 guests and more , pretty but 0 maintenance, no reception for us to go and complain. The owner didn't bother to call and check on us , the only time is spoke to her was trying to get in on arrival. Apparently she lives in Centurion. !
Do not be fooled by the pictures of this place

Although it was a distance to drive from Pretoria and the last 20+km was not the best gravel road, the venue is amazing. Situated in the bush with 5-Star amenities, excellent and friendly staff, wow what an experience! We were assigned a lodge, you feel secluded and out in the bush. Our lodge had 2 large bedrooms with 2 bathrooms a huge living area and kitchen with an outside pool. Well and tasteful furnished and clean.

The staff working there was amazing and really delivers when it comes to customer satisfaction. They pre-arrange at what time our outside fire needs to be lit and collected us every morning to take us to the main lodge for breakfast - and the breakfast was truly awesome with a fine-dining feel to it.

We are looking forward to our next stay as this is the perfect place for a weekend break-away! Highly recommended!

-Chalets only have 1 toilet/shower for 6 people
- only 2 beds and the rest 4 beds are Bunk Beds
- Owners dont care about customer service, quite unprofessional. zero passion for hospitality
- Game driver was also not knowledgeable, zero interest in showing us around or telling us more about the animals
-only facility for leisure if a pool which isnt well maintained either
-kitchen is slow in bringing out food.

Was pleasantly surprised, the self catering accomadation is well maintained and clean . Thank you André and Babsie for your warm hospitality and the game drive early Saturday morning! We enjoyed a bushveld breakfast and hot coffee to round the game drive off. Would defnitely recommend!

Stunning venue in the bush, very quite and relaxing. Nice big open spaces in the main area. Great that there is a restaurant so that if you don't feel like cooking you can have a meal on the deck. Great option for a wedding. The self catering rooms are well equipped and the housekeeping service does an excellent job.

Close to Johannesburg, this lovely lodge just outside Bela Bela is ideal for short or long breaks. We visited for a family celebration and stayed in the main lodge, whilst other members stayed in a privately owned home. The rooms are very clean, and well equipped with much appreciated air conditioners. The is a lovely pool at the main reception and a private braai on our private patio overlooking the bush. The lodge supplies the most delicious meat pack for you to braai on your own and they even supplied the salads. The only drawback of this lodge is the road leading to it which dirt road for +- 20kms and it is heavily corrugated with potholes.
