Enjoyed playing on the Peter Matkovich designed golf course. With a lot of kudus, wildebeest, impalas around and on the golf course some of the fairways were not in a perfect shape but on the other hand enjoyed the grazing wildlife while playing. Before sundown the greens are protected to avoid damage and were in an excellent condition. Caddiemaster and his team were very helpful in accommodating our tee times and mostly played our rounds in less than 4 hours. We stayed in a small and very comfortable villa (#4) with fridge, airco and wifi reception in good order. Only during the standard two hours electricity fall out the generator – that was close by our villa - was somewhat too noisy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was good with professional service and overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.

We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. I do agree to have the wild animals on the golf course while playing around are magical. Apologies for the generator noise, we are working hard at finding a solution for the constant power outages. Hope to welcome you back to Zebula in the future.

Fantastic quiet location where you can relax, enjoy watching the wild Game roam about the property.
Looks like a beautiful golf course, but we didn't have time to play. The food was excellent in the restaurant, including the breakfast buffet, Rooms were very large and well equipped.

We are glad to hear that you had time to relax and enjoy the wild animals roaming around. We hope that "next time" you will have a chance to play a round of golf on one of Limpopo's best golf courses. I will convey your comments about the restaurant to the team, they will be most pleased.

The game lodge was a beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained house with every amenity one could want. Every bedroom had its own bathroom and jacuzzi, and there are balconies and lounges on every floor. There is a barbecue outside, as well as an outdoor hot tub, perfect for stargazing. We didn't see any game from the house, but driving through the property there are impala and warthogs, etc. The service was great and we had a lovely time, especially at the Cheetah interaction. This exceeded all of our expectations in terms of comfort and relaxation.

Highly Recommended!

I am writing after my stay at Zebula Modern house 157. This was my experience the wknd of 20th March -22 March 2020.
Friday:
*When we got there, the main stove was not working
*Opted to the gas stove- The cylinder had no gas
*We called in maintenance , we were told he can only bring the gas in the morning. Like really how are we supposed to eat?
*We went and bought wood and came back cook and ate after midnight(not acceptable)
*All outside lights were not working and we called maintenance again, they couldn’t assist , they said it’s a major thing it needs in the morning

Saturday

• All guest toilet were blocked, we were told by maintenance that it’s a major thing it cannot be fixed, they suggested we lock the toilets the whole wknd
• The Gas cylinder promised on Friday was never delivered

I was not happy about our stay as I have highlighted above. We paid so much money to stay in a house that nothing was working.. Imagine a blocked toilet? How is that, smelly house and we were expected to stay for the whole wknd.

Please escalate this..

We currently staying in the two bedroom villa. Rooms are beautiful, however no view and quiet close to the other homes. Further to this only if you are staying in the "main house" do you get to experience the pleasure of the place. Do not book the cottages or villas as it is a waste of money. Other resorts will provide better accommodation, service and amenities for a better price. The "villa" also does not come with any movie channels and the room decoders are hidden so you cannot change the channel. If you do select to stay here, do an inventory checklist as there shortfalls and you maybe liable. We reported to housekeeping, yet no one has come to verify. The 2 sleeper also does not come with braai area and the food at the restaurant is not the greatest. Overall I really would not recommend this estate to anyone. Rather go to Drakesnburg......or take an extra hour and travel elsewhere

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Zebula Golf Estate and Spa. Our Villas are the ideal options for people wanting to make the most of their time at the resort and to participate and explore all there is to offer. Spending time on game drives, play a round of golf, or explore nature on foot, horseback, or QuadBike and afterward enjoy our hospitality at the CLub house. If agree that if you are a group just enjoying a catch-up with family or friends then the houses are a much better options

We planned a relaxing weekend with friends. We booked a house with a HEATED pool because we wanted to relax in it the whole day, do not like cold water. After phoning the morning to make sure the pool is heated, the pool was ice cold at arrival, the guest bathrooms light did not work. This is not what one expect of this kind of place where you pay a lot of money for quality. We phoned twice the Friday, and no one pitched. We phoned Saturday numerous times. The maintenance team could not get the heat pump working. This was very dissappointing for us as we could get a house with a cold swimming pool for much less. The house really needs some maintenance. To make matters worse, this morning there were no electricity or water and the backup generator also did not work. Very dissappointing, it was really not worth the money paid.

We apologise for the lack of a heated pool at your rented house. And that the lights did not work. We do represent a number of private houses on the estate and from time to time the owners of these private houses neglect to carry out maintenance or to notify us of this in time, resulting in the situation you experienced. Regarding the electricity and the water - we are in the Bushveld and at the mercy of Eskom and this can result in periods of no water to since all water work with pumps. Generators are a sensitive issue within a natural environment as some owners do not like the sound of generators to intrude.

We went to Zebula and checked into 74A at 14h00 on the 16/12/20. The cleaning ladies only finished cleaning at 16h30.
The rental run by Protea Hotels is so run down, it’s a real shame. The pool was full of algae, the braai was filthy, lights didn’t work, dishwasher was broken, furniture dirty, outside lights caked with grease from the braai just to mention a few problems. We eventually left a day early after there was no electricity or water. For the money paid it was really disappointing.

1. Don’t lie about private pools and Villas. State clearly that the room is a cottage and the pool is communal, but actually belongs to the main house. I booked a so-called villa and also only to be told when I was there that there's no private pool.

2. Maintain the rooms. Had to be moved 3 times on a 3 night stay. Aircon, Sliding doors, very little hot water to name a few.

3. Have the rooms actually ready at check-in time. I arrived at 15:00, and had to have my time wasted because there was no room that was ready.

4. Have decent loan clubs and also a bit more effort in maintaining the course, and simple things like signage to the next holes where not there. I accept that the fairways will be terrible be as of the animals, that is not an issue.

5. Ordered potbelly and ribs, and the food was not fresh. Certainly you can do better.

6. Bedding could barely fit the bed, and was aesthetically not pleasing.

7. Hot water in the BL 19 was quite limited. You could barely enjoy the shower. Fix the aircon in BL 10. Fix the sliding door in BL 13. Like I said, I had to move a lot in a short stay.

8. Have actual food and drinks menus in the rooms. It's ridiculous to expect guest to call reception and be read out what is in the menu. These are basic things for good hotels.

It was an Anniversary weekend, we truly enjoyed our time in this lodge it was very comfortable, clean well maintained, all the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the mountain bike riding as we had some very close encounters with giraffes, zebra, wildebeest and lots of bucks.
The only low point we found is there was no a la cadre option for breakfast and the buffet was a bit disappointing for what you pay R210 per person

We hosted a group of golfers and stayed at Zebula for 8 nights on half board basis. We played golf most days on the amazing Peter Matkovich designed golf course. Playing golf alongside the planes game. In one round we saw giraffes, meerkats, wilderbeasts, Impala, Kudu and Warthogs amazing. The accommodation and clubhouse was very comfortable and food excellent. Switch and his team really looked after us. I would not hesitate to return.
