The lodge is very peaceful and has beautiful views. We went horse riding on the mountain which was magnificent and my four year old daughter was brave enough to do the hours riding with us up the mountain. She had her own horse and not scared to ride alone. We also went for the game drive nearby which was also great I would definitely recommend Thandile Country Lodge

A great stop over for us. Clean. Rustic charm. Self catering with well equipped communal kitchen and relaxing lounge. Surrounded by lush bushveld and can walk among the zebras, horses and giraffe. Plenty of birds. Reasonably priced, with warm and welcoming hosts.

This guesthouse is a hidden gem, a short drive outside Bela Bela. The owners are incredibly friendly and treat you as if you're family. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the large house with its tall ceilings and thick walls transports you back in time, to period when life was far less complicated than it is today. Allowing guest to truly unwind and relax. There is an on-site restaurant with a balcony that overlooks two ponds, where zebras and horses casually roam by and drink to their heart's content. Definitely a place I will be visiting again with my family!

Getting to the place is a challenge cause of the gravel road. The place itself just needs a bit of a makeover. A big disadvantage is the pool area. It's far from premises ad kids can't swim there. It's a peaceful place

Thank for the feedback. The gravel road is only 4.5km long but unfortunately it is not well maintained by the Government which does affect anyone doing business in the area. The lodge building is 164 yrs old so maintenance is a constant challenge but staying in an historic building has a charm of its own. We take note of your comment re the pool area. We plan to build a swimming pool in front of the lodge in the near future. Regards
