The staff was not informative enough in terms of the times that the activities take place. Ended almost missing the lion feeding on Sunday. At least an alternative plan was made for us to partake on the lion feeding. There was water and electricity issues on Saturday which was only resolved on Sunday when it was time for us to leave. The rooms are nice just that their are television inside the rooms. Of which some of the guests I believe would appreciate to have television in their rooms. Not to view TV on a conference room

Friendly staff, good facilities and an enjoyable experience. Nice log fire for cold evenings and swimming pool for hot days. We requested special food (as dinner was included), and they did their best to assist.

Beautiful place, fantastic rooms and main building. Good food and a lion safari.
Yes, if you want to experience something beautiful, this is a special place.
Beautiful rooms and you feel like you are in 'safari times', but in nice and luxurious.
Highly recommended!
You can sit anywhere in different places, there is a swimming pool, gym, and a view of a watering hole. Wasn't busy during our visit.

Extremely quite location - except some lion roaring during the night:-)) Staff is extraordinarily friendly and service minding. Interesting game drive through lion sanctuary. Go there - even when the last 15 km on D180 are a bit bumpy

Disappointed with the food and the service.
Lunch was a disaster. Schnitzel from a box and chips that were under cooked.
Then we were messed around regarding the game drive. The times kept changing based on what other guests wanted, so we left after our first night. we will never return. i am still waiting for a call from one of the directors.

If precious memories are made from great experiences, I now have gained more memories. From the moment I arrived Craig, Anna, Richard and the other staff went out of their way to ensure my weekend was relaxing and enjoyable. I thank Craig a for a great "bush-drive"! (private joke). Anna's culinary skills made each meal a pleasure and no request was too great or small for Richard to carry out with dedication and enthusiasm.

I definitely will be back.

Schrikkloof Private Nature Reserve is a lovely, quaint and homely place that is full of loving hosts. Richard, Anna and Craig all ensured that the family was taken cared of. My elderly mum couldn't manage all the steep stairs and they were very accommodating to assist her.

From the welcome drinks and hot towels on arrival, to the friendly staff and incredible individuals who care for the very special animals on the property. This special spot not only renewed my energy but gave me hope in mankind with the incredible work they are doing with the rescued lions (and donkeys). Thank you to all involved for making our stay such a memorable one.

Everything about this place was amazing. From the room to the food and the amazing hospitality shown by all the staff. Even though the lodge was fully booked, we barely saw anyone else except for meal times and then everyone was nicely social distanced so you kept your sense of privacy.
This place is an absolute gem.

Poor service from start to finish. Avoid this place as its absolutely not worth the price you pay. Very sad decline: we were there 18 months earlier when it was under previous management and at that time, it was exceptional! Now the food is very ordinary and poorly presented. Green salad, sliced bread and a scrap of stew. Staff lack experience, training and initiative. Bread served but no butter. Cake with no cake forks. Bowls without serving spoons. Also not enough to feed our party. Possibly the grocery bill is also supplying the staff.
