We visited this establishment for a much needed excursion following busy festive period. On arrival at the proposed check in time, the rooms were nowhere ready. There was a R300 refundable fee that had to be paid in cash; no prior notice relating to that. Reception staff were relaxed; demonstrated no sense of urgency. Finally we were taken to the rooms, but linen had not yet been changed. As a self-catering unit, we expected basics to be there, but we practically had to beg for those. The unit requires a bit of maintenance; we reported and nothing happened. The heat was unbearable and the ceiling fans were not working properly. Apart from that, some of the staff members were quite helpful.

the house keeping manager is one rude lady and does not know anything about good service. she treated us like criminals while she was the one who failed to do her job-fridge was not working and place was dirty when we got there. I can deal with broken stove and all but her attitude stinks.il rather go to the bushes than to go there. she must b a manger at her own house as clearly she has a problem with people .

This place is not as displayed on the website. Parking area not up to standard. We were escorted by a cleaner to our room through dark, dirty corridors. Hard, unconfortable couches. Bathrooms not up to standard, no accesories eg: soap/toothbrush holders, demp smell, white towels have brown stains. Beds not comfortable. Tv remote not working. Not worth R1500.00 for 6 sleeper per night. Never to return.

Thank you for your review. We took great care in displaying our facilities correctly with the latest images of our property, and also advertising the correct facilities on offer. We are in the process of creating a new entrance to the main building which will offer more light and a more welcoming feel. Our apologies that our establishment did not meet your expectations.

I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, relaxing, safe place. What you don't see in the pictures is it is right on the main road in the heart of Bela Bela, no silence and endless people traffic from the streets coming to the hotel bar. The linen and towels in the room stank. We left a few hours after check in.trust all the google reviews for this place. It is dirty and unsecured.

Your feedback is noted Anushmj. We do clearly advertise our location of our property and we're sorry that this was not suitable to you. Our restaurant and bar is indeed open to the public. We'll happily replace towels and linen if guests feel that this is not up to standard.

The rooms and staff need a serious upgrade. The hotel should be closed down to upgrade the conditions of the rooms. The house rules not being followed and no receptions to assist. My kids were excited to get home and found the place as the most horrible place anyone can stay at considering the price of R2,875 per night . I'll not recommend the hotel to anyone.

I booked to stay for 2 nights. The disappointment began after I parked my car and was escorted by the guard to the reception. We went past the dark dingy corridors that was dirty. Finally at the reception at opened on to a busy road. We had booked 2 rooms. The air con in one room did not work, the flush in the other room did not stop flushing. The towels smelt bad and the bathrooms were dirty. We cut short our stay and returned the next morning. The night staff comprised of just one receptionist who was most keen on getting off duty and explaining how he could not help us sort things out.

I had the displeasure of visiting this terrible establised. My first dissapointment was location, the place is in the middle of town surroundd by taxis and a scarp yard. But that is the least of its problems. It is filthy, I dont think this place could pass a health inspectors check. As we walked in the corridors on the way to reception, there was a stench of cigarettes and old booze. Terrible. We eventually arrived to the hotel pool area which was decent, I had hoped. We were staying at the self catering cabanas. A turn of the key, dashed all my hopes, it was dark, dingy and dirty, the couch had so many stains on it that you could not sit in it without fear. The shower has grime build up and they provide very little equipment for a self catering apartment.

There was a drip from the roof right outside the balcony door, incessant and getting worse by the minute which no one came to fix.

This is not a place you enjoy, but something you survive. I survived it. But would not wish this experience on my worst enemy.

Thank you Shirley for your post. We are sorry that you did not enjoy our establishment and that your expectations were not met. Our self-catering units are equipped with the prescribed kitchenware. We will investigate your feedback regarding housekeeping. Our location is incorrectly listed in your review and we feel is also discriminating in tone when referring to the taxis, despite the Taxi rank being located in a different area of town. There is also no scrapyard as referred to in your mail. We are saddened that you did not offer us the opportunity to address your complaints while staying with us, as we strive to deliver the best customer service and experience for our guests.

My family and I stayed over in December and were extremely dissapointed on arrival, which then just got worse the longer we stayed there. It was not at all as what is advertised on the website. The place is filthy, falling apart and in desperate need on renovations (to which the manager admitted). What i can't understand is how they can still be charging people to stay there until the renovations are done?? Surely if it is that bad you should close the resort until renovations are finished??? Or at least be honest about the place and the facilities instead of false advertising! Lights, fridge, etc. not working. Hardly any TV reception. TV had a remote, but no batteries! Really?!? Bathroom had no door. Not child friendly at all (1 website we looked at before booking noted that there was kids play area, etc. which was not the case). Not suitable for anyone with children, no matter what age. Ours couldn't even run around the tiny area around the pool due to huge pieces of broken glass in the ground, steps everywhere and gaps in the patio for them to fall through! Instead we had them cooped up in this tiny, tiny unit which they call a cabanna which also has steep, narrow stairs! Even the balcony looked like it was about to fall off.

To top it off, the 2nd afternoon and evening there was invaded by other guests who took over the whole place with a huge party right outside our doors. We couldn't even open a window (nevermind door) due to the smoke and noise as well as drunken disorderly behaviour. our family of 10 adults and 2 kids sharing 2 units had to then squash into 1 TINY kitchen to eat dinner as we could not go outside onto the patio and our chairs and tables had also been taken by the party outside. I never slept that night between the noise and being boiling hot in our rooms because we couldn't open a door or window (there is no air-con).

The poor manager could not control them and eventually had to call in extra security just in case there was some violence (as the mood had shifted dramatically), but nothing was done to remove them from the premises, turn the loud music off or even return our chairs and tables. It eventually it got to the point where my family and I were afraid that would do something terrible out of anger and spite, which is very disturbing when you have small children around.

Manager said he would give us vouchers for weekends, etc at some of their better resorts in the group, but so far has not happened...

Will never set foot in the place again!!!

Nightmare stay!!
Rooms filthy, furniture broken and/or in serious need of cleaning or replacement.
Doors don't lock, fridge wasn't working.
Not at all what the website offers.
Not at all child friendly.
Some inconsiderate bozos took over the entire resort and public area on the second day of our 3 night stay making it extremely unpleasant for everyone else not part of their group. Noise levels were totally unpleasant.
Management tried to assist with the noise but without much success.
Fortunately management arranged for our group to move to another of their nearby resorts which was the total antithesis of Elephant Springs.
Management/owners - best you sit up and take note of what your customers are saying.
Visitors - Give this place a miss .. don't waste your time and money here!!

Dear guest, thank you for reviewing our property. Our apologies that you did not enjoy your stay at our establishment. We have introduced new house rules. We no longer allow any music being played at our establishment and no music systems are allowed whatsoever. Disruptive behaviour will be dealt with stronger that before. Police assistance will be acquired if guests refuse to obey our rules, and they will be requested to leave the premises. We take our guests' enjoyment of their stay very seriously. It is sorry to hear that the neighbouring guests did not heed our requests to quiet down and continued to disrupt your holiday. We are delighted however that we managed to relocate you and that you had a pleasant stay. Your points raised regarding maintenance and housekeeping are being investigated and addressed.
