Friendly hosts. Room ok but the mould in the shower is of concern. Toilet seat broken and needs replacing. Could not open windows so room is stuffy. Breakfast is only served at 9 am onwards. I suggest that if you are travelling that you seek alternate accommodation.

The owner is super friendly and a very trustworthy person. We were there just for a night but he made us feel like we are part of the family. The place looks amazing, pity we had to leave before breakfast time. I'm definitely coming back 1 night was not enough

The owners are extremely racist. We had so called load shedding& were told that it’s expensive to switch the generator on.
He speaks down to people & insults his employees in front of visitors. We were limited on noise & were treated like school kids in assembly. I would never go back to that awful place & would never recommend it for anyone
The dog is extremely annoying, goes where the guests are & the noise from the peacocks right through the night was torturous.

As a busy person, i never get the chance to spend quality time with my family... as a break-away we decided, after careful advise sue-anne spiller, a travel agent from michelle's travels in boksburg, to book in for a weekend at mon repos guest farm in bela bela.... boy oh boy, were we surprised!!!

the place was immaculate and the attention to detail was overwhelming. we were greeted by the owner freek on arrival at the gate. he then proceeded to guide us down the winding bush road on his quadbike and instantaneously you could see the excitement on my children's faces!!

we were met by farm manager, antoinette, who checked us in speedily and whisked us away to our room. the theme of our suite was as african and bushveld as you can get...grandeur of the highest class!!! the bathroom made you actually wanted to sleep in there....real classy!! afterwards i was invited to join the owner and some guests at the lapa for some fire under the african sky!! the tranquility of the open space was just magnificent...

the next morning a buffet of breakfast was served which could put a lot of the 'so called' top hotels to shame. freek and his wife natalie, made sure that every single guest was comfortable.

we spend the rest of the day basking in the sun and swimming in their sparkling pool and jacuzzi... Antoinette and her partner who manages the place, saw to our every need.
i salute her and the owners for an unforgettable weekend... P.S the car wash as stated by the previous comment is as true as BOB!!! our amazement at this free service was of pure astonishment!!

Antoinette, we the Campbell family, would like to thank you for everything that you have done.. George and the other staff members, thanks to you too!!

SEE YOU SOON!!

We spent a weekend at the Mon Repos, which was recommended to us by the lady in the tourist office in Bela Bela. After some difficulties finding the place we were pleasantly surprised. The garden, the building, the rooms, simply everything looked immaculate and it was clear that there is a lot of attention to detail. The people were very friendly and helpful. They offered us a brai (barbaque) in the evening, gave us a lot of tips of where to go and what to see in the area, even our car was clean the next morning. The rooms are super spacious and beautiful. Again, a lot of attention to detail.
There is also a conference facility, a swimming pool, and I could imagine that a wedding at this place makes an unforgetable event.

We enjoyed our stay at Mon Repos even though we expected to stay in a self-catering. We also prefer staying in town rather than on a farm or on the outskirts. However the reception that we received was excellent. The staff, especially Jackie, was amazing.

The management of the resourt is accomodating, friendly and runs the resourt in a professional manner. However, the self catering units need attention, especially in the cutlerly and kitchen equipment category.

Do not consider Mon Repos Guest Farm if you're looking for a quiet place to escape the hussle and noise of the city. Although the place has nice attributes, you will leave with the overriding memory of a peacock screaming through the night. The proximity of the bar to some of the rooms is also less than desirable. Even if you've defied the insurmountable odds of sleeping in these trying circumstances, don't despair: the staff's crisp early-morning exchanges will ensure that you don't miss your usual sunrise-coffee... which you'll have to enjoy without milk.

This little gem of a place is just 6 minutes out of Bela Bela (Warmbaths) on the road to Modimolle (Nylstroom). We found it to be immaculately kept and tastefully furnished and decorated. As it was a mid week break away, we had the place to ourselves and our host, Harald, went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The evening meal was superb and it is obvious that he takes great delight in serving meals of a very high standard. Most surprising of all was the very affordable prices. It really was 5 star treatment and luxury at 3 star prices. The gardens are beautifully kept and home to Peacocks, Geese, Chickens and various buck. The staff were exceptionally friendly and even sung happy birthday to our 85 year old mother who accompanied us. This is definitely a place to return to in the future.
