The surrounding was not pleasing but the chalets was perfect beyond our expectations.Things that they need to improve are change of beddings, colour of the towel to white and provide some tea stuff. As for swimming pool excellent , braai area superb they are in good condition

This is an average resort to visit for a weekend. I cannot think one would like to go there for much longer.

Chalets are well furnished and adequately equipped with all the utensils one would expect.

Camping area is dusty with very little grass but each stand offers an electricity point and a private bath and shower room.

There is a cold swimming pool which is kept clean and neat, as well as an indoor warm swimming pool which is also kept clean.

Apart from swimming and mini-golf, there is really nothing else to do but rest.

The front desk staff member, Frans, is quite friendly and competent.

Nice break away for a weekend.

We stayed at the Camping Resort El Rancho Grandé on a long public holiday weekend with two small children and stayed in a big chalet (no. 8) sleeping 4-6 persons. Everything was very clean and tidy and cleaning staff came every day to clean kitchen, toilets, floors, grill and to do the beds even though the chalets are self-catering facilities. If you want to, you can though get breakfast, lunch and supper if you let the reception know in advance. We had breakfast included and we always had nice continental breakfast including eggs, bacon, tomato and toast.
The location offers an outdoor unheated pool, a heated indoor pool (though the heating didn't work every day so the pool cooled down but still was ok to swim in even though it was autumn already), mini-golf, ample kiddie biking trails, playground with jungle gym and swings and sometimes they even blew up a jumping castle.
El Rancho Grandé is about 3km out of the centre of Bela-Bela. The close proximity to shops makes it easy to enjoy self prepared food or to sit around the fire and grill sth. But it is lovely far enough out of town to feel like in the bush and wake to the sound of bush birds. One day even ostriches crossed on the other side of the fence!

All in all a good value for price and highly recommendable for families with kids to spend some days and explore Bela-Bela and around or to just relax at the pool and have them biking on the premises all day long with other kids.

The only thing that could be improved was a door handle that fell off, the pool heating to be working in autumn/winter and to have longer opening hours for the tuck shop on weekends. (However the shops in town are open also on weekends but it could save a trip and rather get a beer from the tuck shop and then go back and enjoy the fire!)
