Great room! We enjoyed the "Bridal Suite" which is lovely. Dinner was served in our room - Covid safety still important to us although we are fully vaccinated. The staff were very friendly. We cannot comment on the other rooms as did not see them.

The place definitely needs a major upgrade. There was one white ball for 5 pool tables. And three cues. The place is not very secure it seemed like anybody could just walk in at night I felt so uncomfortable with a crowd I left my game of pool and went back to my room. They need to have gates up and up their security. Everything is very limited nothing like the description on the site I found very little for the kids to do. The pool was their only joy. The rooms are nothing like the pictures the bathrooms are really outdated not what you'd expect from a hotel. On the plus side the service is good the food is great but also limited the staff are amazing at keeping you happy with the little they have to work with. Always smiling. And the breakfast is amazing.

We managed to get away for a few days from 7-11 July 2020 during easing of lockdown levels , what a wonderful peaceful breakaway. From my very 1st call to Lorette , the Manageress , I knew we would have a great service experience , nothing was to much trouble. The rates given were very reasonable , we stayed in room 2 , on 1st floor and had an awesome view of the sea from our room , in fact you could see the sea from the bed .What is unique in St Helena Bay is that you experience sunrise & sunset in the same Bay , only 1 of 2 places in the world I believe this happens & what beautiful views from the room.

The breakfast was very good under the circumstances & Tim the chef made it with special care & on night 3 & 4 made a special arrangement to make us dinner & brought it to our room so we did not have to leave the room as it was rather chilly at night. Both meals were plentiful & tasty. Lorette also gave us some take away options that are delivered to the Hotel & even made special payment arrangements with the restaurant , going the extra mile indeed.

St Helena Bay Hotel is close to the village for any incidentals & other restaurants , ATM's also close by if needed , a little corner café right across the road from the Hotel.

There are a few beaches close by for walking & swimming . Shelley Point is within a 5min drive & has km's of beach. Vredenburg/Veldrif/Paternoster/Tieties Bay/Cape Culumbine/Hopefield are all within an hour of the Hotel , some great walking beaches/swimming others for site seeing or fishing.

The room was spacious with a mini fridge & has a huge bathroom with a massive shower.

We will certainly go back to this Hotel just based on the service we received from Lorette & Tim in particular as well as the location & the room views. There is also a pool on level 1 which has good views of the sea as well & perfect to view sunrise & enjoy a sundowner as well.

The breakfast was sub standard for the kind of money that was paid, R900. No tv channels for children. The advise given to go to places to eat was disappointing, the food did not taste fresh at all, we did inform the owner of restaurant though

The room was up to standard and met criteria of clean, neat and tidy. Had a tv with limited dstv channels. Big shower with toilet. Good view over the sea. The main hotel is very dated and needs updating. Loose carpets upgrade to laminated flooring or tiles on stairs and walkway.

If you are looking to take time off to relax in a quiet and peaceful location, then this is the place. The old-style hotel has lovely modern finishings. Our room was lovely and spacious for 3 people. The service was great, the people in St Helena are generally friendly which makes the experience better. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Worst hotel and customer service. We recently stayed in room 14 at the St Helena Bay hotel. Firstly, false advertising they advertise a swimming pool and only as you get there they tell you it is not working. Well we specifically booked at the St Helena Bay hotel because of their pool facilities. When you want to speak to a manger... Well they are all unavailable. The reception ladies will tell you to email the manager Lorette Diedericks and she will be of no assistance. We spoke to her about not receiving what we paid for, I e. we booked a hotel that offers a gorgeous swimming pool overlooking the ocean. She will tell you that the pool will still take months to be fixed and offer you a free night's stay once and only if it is fixed. Okay thank you for the gesture, but will you be paying for our petrol and time to get out there again? St Helena Bay hotel if you are at fault and not offering your clients what you advertise and what they paid for, should you not at least be giving them some form of compensation back? Oh yes, the manager Lorette Diedericks will also lie to you about all the swimming pool pictures being taken off all of their booking sites. Well only once we sent her the photos and link of the swimming pool being advertised did she bother to take the photos off.
Oh would you like working plugs in your room? Well according to St Helena Bay hotel that will be too much to ask for. The reception lady will send you to your room knowing that your plugs are broken and not even giving you any kind of warning that they are broken. You will then have to run up and down as well as wait for the electrician to finish his lunch (may I add for almost four hours) before your plugs even get looked at or fixed. You will then get told it is loadsheddings fault which is a reasonable excuse but loadshedding was only two and a half hours, but before we even arrived they knew about the problem and after loadshedding they will still make you wait for simple utilities to be fixed. If you would like any sort of hotel or holiday experience I highly suggest you do not book at St Helena Bay hotel. They do not even deserve one star.

Clean, neat rooms. Friendly efficient service, and good food at the restaurant. Nice views from the hotel rooms overlooking the sea, with the hotels position placed adequately in terms of surrounding shops and amenities.

When we arrived we found a dead mouse / rat in the room with a stench so bad we could not breathe. We asked for another room, and was given 2 rooms opposite each other in the garden court. Being a family of 5, we now had to share 2 rooms apart from each other. So we had to decide do we put the 3 children in a room on their own, or do we as parents split and divide the kids among the 2 rooms. What was meant to be a family stay became an isolated stay. (We did ask them to carry an extra bed into the one room so we can all be together, but they said no. We asked for a fridge as we booked self catering and had milk, and they said no)

Sorry for the delay. The two bedroom is an apartment, with both bedrooms en suite and large. It is very nice and has an equipped kitchen too. The area is pretty and is good for exploring.
