The place is well situated and close to a decent shopping centre. There is. Ot much to do at the b&b itself besides for swimming and watching the very limited number of tv channels. The rooms were comfortable but the hot water really wasn't hot enough. The staff were friendly enough though. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms. Instead they use halogen bar heaters which works well enough but you cannot sleep with them on

Trip Advisor Review Ma Cachette Bed & Breakfast Total Stay: 14 days-15 nights Dates: Jan. 5th -19th 2007 Arrival: Upon arrival my girlfriend and I noticed that the heat was tremendous. Especially since we had just flew in from London to Johannesburg. We had a van chartered to Potchefstroom where we stayed. This was about an hour and a half drive. Hotel/ Bed and Breakfast: When we arrived to the Hotel the people and staff were extremely nice and helpful. They offered us the kitchen and pretty much full reign of the place. The rooms were nice two beds joined together, nice decor, clean bathroom, and the pool was nice as well. The only thing that could have made the hotel even better would be air conditioning. It was very hot but at least there was a good fan on the ceiling. Breakfast was always served fresh in the morning and the host even offered to cook us lunch and dinner. There was a grocery market near by as well as a nice fish restaurant and some café’s. Down the street was a grass track and a weight room that was eaisly comparable to a 24hr fitness. Tour/Safari: The Safari (Elgro River lodge) we went on was alright. There was no big game and if you ask the people at the hotel they will probably refer you to the same safari that we went on. There is only one that is close to the hotel and that is about a 30 minute drive away. The Safari did not have any big animals like Lions, elephants, or rhinoceros. The safari did have good tour guides and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the animals they did have on there land. The animals they did have were wart hogs, zebras, giraffes, deer, and a slew of other moose or deer like animals. Mall: The Mall was nothing to brag about. This is a small town and I would consider it a small college type town. Do to it having a major college actually in the town. The mall was decent and it did have a movie theater that was extremely cheap. Also the cost of living there was very low. Most things were pretty cheap overall. Overall Experience: Overall I really enjoyed my time there and I would go back and stay in the same hotel because the hospitality was great. Though if I went on safari I probably would try and go on the safari closer to Johannesburg. Good luck and have a safe trip I hope this review helps you on your vacations.
