I’ve stayed in hostels around the world and can’t remember ever leaving a review, but Casa Verde was such a good experience- so clean, so comfortable, such a good energy- that I just had to. Thank you Carlos for being so warm and accommodating! I stayed in the mixed dorm and was so impressed with everything.
I can think of no way to improve upon this hostel. Everything was clean. Breakfast was good. The proprietor Carlos is a gem. It's his house and he lives on site so he makes sure things run smoothly. We were very happy with this hostel. This Karen could find nothing to complain about. Five stars!
Excellent staff and services at a very reasonable price. They have a wine bar and good food. The Owner Carlos speaks perfect English and is a wealth of information. He is awesome and laid back. The Hostel has an English speaking driver named Davis. He can take you anywhere you want to go and accompanies you to translate. Spent a week here and didn’t want to leave.
Carlos, the owner, is the hardest working hostal owner ever. I peppered him so many questions before ever leaving on my trip and he answered them all. When I actually stayed at Casa Verde I had more questions and, again, he had time in his busy schedule to help me out. He even took the time bring myself and some friends to his favourite breakfast stall at the market! The hostal itself is very nice. I stayed in a private room and enjoyed the room, pool, kitchen, rooftop patio, food and other travelers I was lucky enough to meet there. All in all it was a great experience. A big thank you to Carlos and his staff!
Not enough stars to rate this place. Carlos the owner has literally thought of everything. I stayed in the dorm and the beds are super comfortable with a luggage rack for your bag, fan above the bed, power outlets in the lockers and a nice long mirror in the ladies bathroom as well as super hot showers. The kitchen has all you need to cook up a great meal, lots of spices on hand however I must admit I didn’t use it much since the on-site restaurant serves mouth watering food and has a great wine selection. Try the lomo, you will not be disappointed by the quality and price. Carlos ensures all his guests are comfortable and have all the information they need. Fabulous place to stay im Santa Ana. Thank you Carlos and staff!
Clean hostel, and met fellow traveller there. There is restaurant but we did not eat there. Swimming pool available. Ten minutes walking distance to the main plaza. Carlos and staff are very welcoming. Ah, recommended that you reserve via their own website, more flexible term with better rate.
A little gem in the middle of elegant, yet somewhat adventurous Santa Ana. Owner Carlos runs this hostel/hotel with a lot of enthusiasm and can really help you out with trips or finding a bus to your next destination. The food and wine at his bar is great, and make sure he tells you where to get pupusas!
Courtyard homes are the norm for El Salvador. From the outside it is very unassuming but once inside the hostel is warm and friendly. Sad that Covid has decimated the tourist business here. The balconies would be great to hang out with other guests trading stories. Sad that we were the only guests that day. Rooms are clean and inviting. Make sure you ask for blanket, we were cold. We were able to bring our car into the garage for a very safe venue.
Loving our time here at Casa Verde in Santa Ana, El Salvador. Unfortunately we are here during the covid-19 pandemic. As many have said, Carlos is a very gracious host and has let us “quarantine” here while we figure out options to get back to Canada. The amenities and facilities at Casa Verde are above what any hostel has ever offered us. It really is more like a hotel here. Very clean, stocked fridges of beer and snacks, kitchen area with (quite literally) every appliance, and a nice well taken care of pool area. There is a movie area where you can watch Netflix, Firestick, and cable TV. Multiple tour options are available to be booked through the front desk, and it seems Carlos knows everyone in the local area. Casa verde is affordable, and should be a no-brainer for those looking for lodging here in Santa Ana! Thanks to Carlos and all Casa Verde staff for their warm and helpful vibes! …
We stayed at Casa Verde for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a spacious private room with private bathroom and it had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, there was a fan and A/C was available but extra. We didn't need it though, even with 36C outside during the day. There was also cable Tv and Netflix in the common area. The shared kitchen was amazing. It was large and had a full range of condiments to use in preparing your meals. There was also a pool which was very handy to combat the Santa Ana heat. The location of the hostel is also convenient as it is close to bus stations and a local market. Finally Carlos our host and his team were very friendly and helpful. Carlos helped us find accommodation at our next destination and even spoke to the next hotel to help us book it. This is definitely the place to stay when in Santa Ana.…
