Detailed Reviews
Being well traveled globally, I am a connoisseur related to accommodation, service and gastronomic offerings. This quaint lodge, nestled on the bank of a river and under a canopy of large hardwood trees, does not lack any detail. My trip started with a great reception by the host lady who took me through the room and who pointed all amenities. The room does not lack ANY detail or luxury. What I found handy was the firelighters provided with a pre-packed stack of firewood and also the air humidifier - especially given these are thatch roof chalets, the humidifier definitely assists to maintain allergies. Another plus was the firm mattress. I have not slept that well in many months! The only negative about the room relates to the shower - the outlet does not drain well enough causing the water to pool and eventually running out to the bathroom floor. Admittedly, I did not report this but is a relatively quick fix. The hostess at the dining table was exceptional. Leah, thank you for your personal attention and friendly approach. The food was well prepared, tasty and value for money. I appreciated the breakfast included in the price. I've have numerous similar offerings in the past, globally, and many times the breakfast included is of poor quality, portion size and variety.
The setting is great and for those wanting to just kick your shoes out and relax this is a great weekend breakaway, amazingly close to Johannesburg and Pretoria. I definitely want to return and explore the farm with my bicycle. Overall, well done and thank you for exceeding my expectations.

We stayed in a family room and the rest of the family at the camping grounds 2 km from the Lodge. Both the camping ablutions and the rooms were kept clean the entire weekend. The staff was helpful and friendly. Hand sanitizers were available at the Camping ablutions as well as all public areas. We felt safe and welcome all the time. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

An easy drive from Jobhannesburg. The location is very peaceful and the bird watching excellent. There is not a lot of game, but it is nice for walking and a great getaway for a weekend. The food was well prepared and two meals a day is plenty although one can order lunch. Having only 8 units which are spaced far apart is also great.

Absolute disgrace and should be marketed as a hostel. Rooms are nice and comfortable and appear to be luxurious, but on closer inspection one notices that they are tired and the fact that we had no hot water was the icing on the cake. Staff are poorly trained and it clearly shows as they focus on convenience for themselves, rather on guests. An example of this is that the menu was changed to a buffet contrary to what is claimed and meals are served only for an hour and a half. So if you wanted to lie in, tough luck. The attitude of the manager and owner is also clearly carried over to the staff and I suggest you look elsewhere if you want luxury. If you looking for nice rooms, hostel food, cold water, poor service at an overpriced fee, then this is the place for you.

Excellent location and setting. However if you are hoping to do a little work or attend an urgent zoom meeting, this is not going to be possible. No cellphone signal and their wifi went down, cutting our trip short from a 3 night stay to a 1 night stay which was incredibly dissapointing and costly having paid for 3 nights when we did not get the benefit. Would be great for the restort to resolve this!

Looks like a very upmarket establishment from the pictures on the website. Prices confirm that it must be a nice venue. Service was terrible. Very unprofessional staff ( not fitting establishment’s look & prices) Food was cheap guesthouse quality at a ridiculous price per head. No guest amenities available. Would not recommend to friends and family

Zenzele is the perfect place to relax and rest. With its perfect location along the river and the tranquil atmosphere one cannot help but relax and recharge. There is also limited phone signal however the wifi worked perfectly.
The chalet was very well equip and comfortable with an outside shower and beautiful view of the bush from the bed. We were lucky to see a few buck wander through the camp and ample bird life around.
Our mountain bikes were a good way of getting around and seeing the full extent of the property including a family of curious giraffes.
Breakfast is delicious and can sustain you for the whole day. Dinners we had an option to enjoy outside our room with our own private outside fireplace. The meals are truly tasty and well prepared.
The staff and hostess were very friendly and helpful.
This is a gem and we would definitely visit again.

This was one of the Bush Camps with the best atmosphere we ever visited. The only downfall that spoiled the atmosphere was the Shebeen music that was going on for the whole weekend, very disturbing but over and above that as said, excellent. Then I would like to suggest that the tariff of R500.00 per night must at least cover for 6 people like all other Campsites it the norm. Then thereafter there can be a extra charge per person and per Car extra. I would like to receive feedback about this.

The booking site shows 2 types of rooms for a family of 4, I booked the one that stated an outdoor shower and private fire pit. When we got there however, we were in a standard room without these amenities. The room was clean, except that the curtains were stained and dirty.
Other than the mix up with the rooms, we had a pleasant stay. The location is beautiful. The splash pool on the deck helped cool us down, and was fun for the kids.

The price you pay for the old family room its not worth it. the old rooms and the new river front rooms is the same price, so please ask for the river front rooms. Very nice river front and nature experience.
Staff very help full and service is good.
Food was very well prepared and good spread and a lot to choose from. They can maybe extend the time for dinner.
