We had been wanting to go skiing, but had to cancel several weekends due to the weather which had been very windy lately. So when the weather was finally ideal, it coincided with the week that all the kids in Bavaria have off.

"Oh no!", we thought, when we realized it too late.

But we were pleasantly surprised to arrive at the hotel and not be bombarded by children. In fact, the pool was practically empty although the sunbeds were all taken and not a child in sight! Wonderful. After 5 minutes, 2 people left, so we had sunbeds we could use.

People were quiet and we had a lovely afternoon in the pool just after checking in.

Their restaurant was closed due to too many of their staff having gotten Covid. So we ate dinner elsewhere but breakfast the next day was superb. Everything was great except for the coffee, which was very bad, but I'm a coffee snob, so it might be OK to those of you who aren't. I then switched to tea and that was great! I adapt easily enough.

We also worked out in the fitness suite and it was really great. No one was there and there is a wide array of machines that you can use, plus disinfection spray to clean the machines afterwards.

The bed was comfortable and the room was fine. The balcony opened up to a nice view of the garden and the pool.

I would upgrade the TV as it only had local TV channels. It is 2022 and all hotels should really have Smart TVs where guests can enter their Netflix, Amazon Prime or Sky TV password and watch what they like.

Aside from that, it was a lovely stay and when we drove to the Sudelfeld Ski Resort the next day, we were surprised to only wait 15 minutes to be allowed down the hill to the parking lot. It was around 11am by the time we got on line and it wasn't long at all. The pistes weren't crowded and this was at it's peak!

The only negative was when the hotel emailed me about the room key because they apparently misplaced it. I informed them that we handed it in at checkout to the older blond lady at reception that morning and then paid the tourist tax.

How on earth would we have been able to check out without a key?

It was annoying to be contacted about this and it left a sour taste when I saw a missed call from the hotel the day after I had replied via email. Therefore, I took off a point for that.

Aside from this, everything was great and the young woman with the long blond hair at the reception who was there when we checked in was absolutely lovely. She kept apologizing for her English but she really did speak it well and we appreciated her help.

We did enjoy the hotel and would recommend it. Next time, I'll probably take a video of us checking out and handing in the key, though.

I only spent one night (only) at Alpenhof as it was nearby a conference venue and due to our tight schedule I did not have time for the spa, nor even the spacious balcony of my room. Breakfast was good with a very decent selection of sweet and savoury options and I would definitely stay there again when in the area. Personally, I prefer the "sleek designer look" rather than "Alpine style" but it felt authentic and fitted the environment.

Were now in this fabulous hotel for the 4th time and got stuck there.
Very dear and courteous hostess.
The hotel has the most beautiful and
cleanest spa and wellness area with
fantastic swimming pool, which we have visited for a long time.
We now regularly come out of Munich once a month from the
Alpenhof.

You come to a hotel that is supposed to be nice to relax a little, and then find a staff that is totally stressed and makes you feel like a burden. Our room had the windows facing the road, which was unfortunately very loud. And also, since we did not book „halb Pension“, apparently we are not welcome in the restaurant for dinner, because between 18:00 and 19:45 the ones that have booked it have priority.
What the f***k?!?
Unfortunately we did not enjoy it as much as we have hoped for.
I would NEVER recomend it. Ever.

Stayed here recently whilst attending a family wedding as part of a large party.
The rooms are comfortable and kept clean. The reception staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. In particular Martine who was helpful before I arrived at the hotel and during my stay and Thomas was cheerful and helpful.
The restaurant had a good menu and the wine and beer were good. We ate outside on the first night but also inside on a particularly rainy night. Another evening a barbecue was arranged and the food was very good.
In the bar and the restaurant Claudia was a star serving the drinks with a good sense of humour.
The breakfast was very good with a good choice.

here were not any coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms. here is a nice spa pool and sunbathing area.
My only criticism was that late at night the bar was understaffed although the barmn did a good job.
A nice friendly hotel in a beautiful setting minute walk away from The BOB train station at Osterhofen.

I loved this hotel. Traditional but contemporary rooms. The atmosphere is so pleasant and the rooms so comfy. For a romantic weekend it must be lovely.

We had dinner there with a couple of friends and I have to admit it was sublime. The food was EXCELLENT. It had been a long time I hadn't eaten and drank as well as there.

The cherry on top is that every one is simply lovely there, very nice and helpful.

I can only recommend this place.

We spent a couple of nights here with friends and enjoyed every minute of it: Nice rooms, excellent suites (try to upgrade if you can), nice spa & pool area. We also really enjoyed the food - breakfast as well as à la carte dinner. Make sure you try the large selection of spirits! Beautiful mountain scenery when you sit outside (pick the backyard during busy days because the street is right in front).
Looking forward to our next stay.

The hotel has all the right amenities but lacks spirit. The staff are distracted and unaware of customers. No water or wine offered with the meal and the half board menu was too restrictive.
On leaving the somewhat dull restaurant at the end of a meal the so called sommelier was laid across the food serving area, very inviting!
The hotel needs a wake up call. It could be so much better.
The accommodation is fine but top prices require top service to match.
Not a place to visit for more than one night.

We stayed at this hotel last night; we wish we could have stayed longer. It’s a beautiful hidden gem, near Wendelstein Mountain. Staff were efficient and welcoming; accommodating all our needs with a smile (including complementary late check out so we can indulge in their spa before we head to Munich airport for our long late night flight). Few types of rooms, we were in the Superior Room with a balcony. Reasonable priced with internet connection free of charge. Parking outside the hotel was free and secured. The restaurant is serving gourmet meals, small portions, pretty expensive! Breakfast cost 15 euro! The spa was of a good standard with nice size swimming pool and dry and wet saunas (only had to remind the receptionist to turn on the saunas; which meant half an hour wait till it was hot enough to enter).
Overall, it was great experience. Warmly recommended!

How would I get to the hotel from Munich Airport? Are there any transport links back into Munich? Thank you.
Bayrischzell
Hallo, thank you for your question, there are three possible ways: 1. the cheapest way is to take the S-Bahn S1 from the Airport to the munich train station (München Hauptbahnhof) this takes 45 Minutes, from the train station goes every hour a train to osterhofen - this is the BOB - Bayerische Oberlandbahn - it takes round about one hour, we would shuttle you from the osterhofen train station to our hotel. 2. you could take a taxi from the airport to the Hotel 3. we could organize a shuttle for you that picks you up at the airport and brings you to our hotel, please call us for an offer if you chose this way. I hope I could help you and you will visit us :-)
