We had chosen the brewery inn as our stand to explore the surrounding area. A good decision, because the hotel has everything you want as a guest. The very well-kept, Bavarian-style house offers not only tasteful rooms, but also excellent service and the much-talked about Bavarian quality of life. Free parking on the premises or in the surrounding streets. Check-in was professional, courteous and very friendly. Our suite was located in the annexe (manor house), in which we could also use a comfortably furnished large common room. We loved the tasteful and high-quality furnishings of our suite. Everything was right. Also the large bathroom with window convinced. Sufficient cupboard space available. Safe is not laptop suitable. Although located on the road and next to the church it was pleasantly quiet. Breakfast is served in the main house as in old times. No buffet grenade! The evening restaurant offers fine dining. In an annex there is a rustic restaurant with beer garden. Again, there are very good Bavarian food at reasonable prices.

Conclusion: We can recommend the hotel without restriction.

Always really good - Top hotel industry (especially attentive: In the historic wall with the beautiful rooms there is no air conditioning but on request at least an air conditioner), top kitchen performance (colorful tomatoes of old varieties, char as an appetizer, then the classic Wienerschnitzel "fluffy" as from the picture book and - for the lady - the golden trout with orange risotto "outstanding!"), top service (all highly motivated and fast and extremely gracious) and at the end the safe feeling that this beautiful place with its overall package simply stands out from the crowd. If the sky is still bright blue, then you also hurt that the restaurant is only open from Wednesday and in our case you unfortunately have to drive far to be able to stay here.

Let's start with the plus: I have rarely been served so attentively and courteously. I have been to the Aying Hotel 3-4 times and can only say the best. Friendly, polite, obviously well trained (not every 5-star hotel can boast that) and with a warm family atmosphere. Full marks, it couldn't be better.
Perhaps a few suggestions, dear hosts. If half the house is empty, then give the guest the renovated room, the one with the new wooden floor :-) And with the duvets, it's more IBIS than 5-star hotel. "There is no large blanket anywhere in the house," said the nice man at reception. A pain at 1.90m.
And in the restaurant, my suggestion would be to maybe go with the spirit of the times and put at least one vegetarian/vegan dish on the menu. The kitchen performance itself varies a bit. Sometimes the evening meal is very good, sometimes a bit "mixed"; given the standard and the price, you expect a bit more.
The breakfast is a hit. To be honest, my office is in Munich, and I drive out to Aying in the evening to stay overnight for two reasons: breakfast and everyone is so nice to my dog. Maybe I'd change bakers, but that's a small thing. The Brauereigasthof Aying earns my deep gratitude and loyalty above all for one thing: there is no breakfast buffet! You get what you want and it comes on a tray, with warmth. Your feet can stick out from under the blanket at night too. See you soon, greetings from Zurich.

Fantastic property! The breakfast each morning was delicious, staff was friendly, and the rooms were well decorated and spacious. A group of 8 of us stayed here during Oktoberfest. My group agreed we would stay there again. The front desk staff was friendly and they do speak English. Your room even comes with delicious beer from the Aying brewery. The hotel can arrange a tour at the brewery (a 5 minute walk) for you. They have an upscale restaurant at the location. It’s a 10 minute walk from the train (30 minute ride to Munich). The town is very safe & everyone we encountered was friendly. I highly recommend it!

An important thing to note is that there is no air conditioning or overhead fans in the room.

Dear guests, thank you so much for your great recommendation – it was a pleasure to read it! We are delighted to hear that your group had such a great time in Aying during Oktoberfest, and of course, that you would like to stay with us again – that’s the highest compliment we could receive. :) Regarding the air conditioning, thank you for mentioning it. We do offer mobile air conditioners or portable fans on request to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. We will gladly pass your kind words to our amazing staff, and we hope to welcome you back soon at our little Bavarian paradise. Kind regards, The Inselkammer Family & all staff members

I am only reviewing the food at the "Brauereigasthof Hotel Aying" (not the beer garden and the inn there): The prices are very high (e.g. Wiener Schnitzel made from veal with a side dish between 40 and 45 euros, depending on the side dish chosen, which has to be ordered and paid for separately), which is why we expected the dishes to be of exceptional quality. Yes, the dishes had the (unfortunately) usual "splashes of color" and artistic creations on the plate for this price range, but the taste... --- unfortunately mixed. Some were good (not very good) and some were even just mediocre (e.g. the schnitzel smelled of "deep fryer" fat (an absolute no-go). All in all: We missed the honest "good home cooking" of the past and will not go there again: The dishes are nowhere near good enough and completely overpriced. What a pity! The service was very nice, by the way, but everything took a very long time, even though there was not much going on.

Great as always!
I love the combination between Deutsche Bauhaus and Top Hotellerie.
Costs 250-300€ a night but is worth every cent at breakfast !
The library with the fireplace and the opportunity to tap into beer 24/7 is an experience.

We (3 adults) were here for lunch today. The restaurant offers fine cuisine and is worth every penny. Both the quality of the food and the service. The service was extremely friendly and diligent, the food and drinks were to the point at the table. We had homemade bread with homemade butter, game, plate meat and Viennese schnitzel from the veal as well as a holiday soup in advance. Everything was discovered that experienced chefs did manual work here. The restaurant is consistently recommended

I have visited this wonderful hotel 5 times and will keep coming back because it’s simply superb. It’s an absolutely classic Bavarian masterpiece. The setting is incredible. The hotel is plush and eat-off-the floor spotless as well as posh without a hint of ostentatiousness. This place is worth a stay here without going anywhere else!! The staff is considerate, caring, friendly and thoroughly professional. Definitely“bucket list“ worth it!! W. Rohrbach

Good hotel where we stayed overnight on the way to Austria. It is easy to drive to and is conveniently located close to the highway.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant also has good dishes, but this restaurant is not cheap.
Breakfast is still traditionally served at the table and this is therefore not a buffet (nice experience!).
All in all a nice hotel and we will definitely come back here again!

After a few years we returned and the impressions we had were confirmed. Compared to last time we didn't have a superior room but a classic one and the differences can be seen in terms of space but otherwise nothing has changed. Minibar with two beers (they produce it!!) and two water included in the room price. A la carte breakfast but it is well stocked and you can ask for what you want, the quality of the food is high. In the evening we had dinner in the brewery, fabulous beer and excellent food. Too bad the portions were too large, it's a shame to waste part of the food since I think few people manage to finish the dish.

Are the rooms quiet and well ventilated?
Answer from Alexander C
Munich, Germany13 contributions6 helpful votes
It's not on a busy road so apart from the church bell should be quiet. In high summer I'd give a different answer - there's a busy open air beer garden on the opposite side of the road.
