Birthday celebration dinner was brilliant. The food was great and the service was excellent with a special mention to Jackie one of our two waitresses for the night. She went out of her way to make our night an experience to remember for a long time and even threw in her husband who drove us home. Thanks to Steve. All in all worth a second visit.

We had a two night stay in July 2021. The hotel was nice enough, staff friendly and efficient, lovely breakfast in dining room and prices reasonable. Our bedroom was disappointing and new furniture is needed to ensure this hotel retains its 4 star status. The ensuite bathroom is in urgent need of new decor. Shower curtains are no longer acceptable, particularly in our Covid world and should be replaced by screens asap. Also grouting in shower was disgusting.

We returned to the Old Manor for a bunkered golf break having stayed last October when there were some restrictions . it was great to enjoy the brilliant food with a nice glass of wine and all the meals we had were superb .The portions for dinner and breakfast are substantial and the front of house staff were all very friendly and helpful , This is a great place to stay and is handy for many of the top courses in the area and was very busy when we stayed

Made so very welcome by Tina. As I can't manage stairs we were given number 16, a beautiful, spotlessly clean & comfortable ground floor room with a balcony and spectacular views across the Firth of Forth. Beds were VERY comfy with pristine bedding. Spacious bathroom with nice toiletries & soft towels. All public areas are bright & fresh with good seating. Restaurant makes great use of the fantastic sea views and has tinted glass so a perfect place for dinner and breakfast. There are tables on the patio and with the unusually hot weather on the day we stayed we enjoyed a drink there. Waiting staff were very smart and attentive and the food was well presented and delicious with a good selection of choices. Servers were Susan and Cree, while we were having a drink later on Cree came over to chat on her way off shift. Breakfast was also delicious and we were served by Alex who is a charming young lady, she was assisted by a nice polite young man. We were checked out after or stay by Alistair the owner who is pleasantly amiable and happy to know we had a lovely stay. We are returning again in August and we highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Covid rules all adhered to perfectly.

I've stayed at this hotel on many occasions and always rated it highly however the standards have slipped post covid possibly due to owner trying to recoup lost businss. First of all there was a mix up with the rooms...having always stayed in room7 and was sure that we had booked same room but we didn't...asked receptionist if we could be moved and despite room not being occupied were refused. Normally reception staff very friendly but not this time... The room we had was still good but a very tiny balcony plus there were no toiletries except fir a 2cm × 2cm piece of brown soap which was of no use at all. There was tea and coffee but not even a tea biscuit in the room....disappointing to say the least. Main meal was ok it was steak with hand cut chips that looked like skinny fries not what was described and not very tasty....left most of them. The menu did not have a large choice with 2 main fish dishes and beefburger. The dessert was sticky toffee pudding served with very little toffee sauce so it was very dry...plus again limited choice. The main saving grace was the breakfast - it was outstanding with plenty of tea and toast alongside a great selection But what really makes this hotel special is the outstanding staff especially morning waiting staff they couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome and went out their way to ensure you were happy with the meal ...always attentive and very professional. In fact all staff were exceptional apart from main entrance/ reception....quite different to woman who used to mann that area and wonder why she has been replaced....as first meet with someone at front of house is very important ....after all you only get one chanceto make a good first impression and it has to be spot on for folk wanting to return. To be honest it saddens me to write this as have spent many times here in the past and loved it .....but a few issues need highlighted to bring it back to the high standard it used to achieve.
