Parking was in the basement and tight if you have a larger car. There are also two spots on the main level. I scratched the side of the car when I was exiting the property.
Anyways, the hotel and grounds are very nice and you could not have asked for a better view of the country side and with the best access to Pienza.
The room was great with all amenities and the breakfast was one of the best I have had.
Thank you again for your hard work at making this hotel a pleasant stay for guests.
What a little gem this hotel was. Located just across the street from old town, on a great piece of property with outstanding views of the land. Lovely outdoor tables to watch the sunset, eat your breakfast or just chill.
Room was comfortable, breakfast buffet good, staff excellent
We were, however, a little disappointed with the management/staff. They were not welcoming, friendly or accommodating, which was unlike the rest of our experience with the overly friendly Italians!
It started at check-in when the manager was irritated with us because of a miscommunication about a dinner reservation that was no fault of ours. They insisted that we pay their driver $250 because they did not receive our cancelation within 24 hours. We were very apologetic and paid without raising a fight, even though we thought that amount was unreasonable. Most upsetting was to arrive on our first visit to Tuscany with a demand for money rather than a warm welcome or greeting to enjoy our stay. It definitely sucked the joy out of our much anticipated arrival.
On our second (and last) day, we were not permitted to start breakfast even 5 minutes early. In fact, we were told not to touch any of the breakfast buffet until 7:30 a.m. We checked out at 7:15 a.m. and just wanted to have a small breakfast before getting on the road to catch our train in Florence. We just stood there and watched....and waited. The manager knew that we were on a tight schedule and was not friendly about letting us partake in the buffet, which was mostly breads and ready for the guests. We were a party of 8. We had 4 rooms for 2 nights, and we were only welcomed to one breakfast. Just not the experience we had hoped for, and we went out of our way to be polite and appreciative. In any event, we had a lovely farm to table experience at another restaurant and will stay elsewhere if were are ever so lucky to return to Pienza!
I loved my room and the breakfast. However, I won’t return as sleep was impossible there. There is no carpet anywhere, so all sounds carry. On first floor, very noisy all evening as guests go in or out the front door. All walls are paper thin. You can hear every movement, phone call, flush, etc of guests overhead. Nearby dogs barked nonstop all night. On first floor, you hear the staff setting up breakfast from 6am on. Lovely place, but impossible to sleep there.
They take the covid protocol very seriously and serve you at the breakfast buffet. The hotel has safe garage parking and my bike was inside. I liked it so much I stayed 4 nights after planning for only 2 nights.
The views, courtyard and small hotel bar are wonderful. Rooms and bed are very nice and bathroom was large.
I’ll be back next year with a friend!
The bathroom was quite nice with the best shower we had out of five hotels. They even had terrycloth slippers.
What made this ever so special was the 180-degree view of the Tuscan hillside outside our window. Just gorgeous. The town, too, is beautiful with many photo opportunities. The prettiest Tuscan scenery we saw was in and around Pienza.
Breakfast was good--lots of cakes along with meat, cheese, yogurt, cereals, etc. We ate outside on pretty mornings, and inside the breakfast room when it wasn't. I really liked the breakfast pastry with the almond paste filling.
They have a parking garage under the hotel, but it is small and difficult to maneuver. The proprietor brought our car up for us each time we wanted to go out. Don't let the deter you, as it is only a minor inconvenience. It was nice to have garage parking in Tuscany.
The people working at the hotel have limited English with the exception of the night clerk, but they tried hard to accommodate any request. Very charming people--even the housekeeper was friendly.
This was an excellent choice of lodging for the Pienza area. I would stay here again.
"East side rooms have best views but an additional amount of 30% was requested. No elevator to upper floor"Read full review
