The Palazzo Dogana is worth a visit, just because of its history and origin. The location has been converted into a mini hotel and has - with its own restaurant, large veranda and access to the beach - everything you need for a short stay. We were at a family event in the restaurant and were very spoiled with excellent local dishes that left nothing to be desired. .

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, using it as a base to visit Paestum. The hotel is situated right on the water at the marina and we were so comfortable here in our room, San Francesco, up in the roof space of the hotel. Our room was very clean and well appointed with modern fittings and had good wifi connection. Good quality linen and products were provided. Each morning we awoke to a beautiful view of the marina. All staff were pleasand and helpful and car parking was provided for 10 Euro for our stay. The Italian breakfast was plentiful and served in their restaurant overlooking the water. We had one meal at the restaurant and the fresh seafood was great.

Staff were lovely, rooms were spotless and tasteful, restaurant was great - it's a really great base for a week's holiday. My Mum can't go up and down steps and this was one of the few beach side hotels that was genuinely step free all the way down to the water. Unfortunately she fell ill at the second half of the holiday and the staff were great, cooking and bringing up special meals etc. Just a couple of points - we went in September and while it was lovely and warm (26C) the autumn storms had washed great piles of rotting seaweed into the bay so it wasn't ideal to swim. They did regularly rake the private beach though. Also - as I said the hotel was ideal for those with mobility difficulties - but the town itself is very steep and full of uneven roads and steps.

We used Palazzo Dogana as our base for a week to explore the entire area. And the perfect base it was. The hotel is centrally located on a small but nice beach. Francesco and Toni are the perfect hosts, and really go our of their way to make sure all is well for you. Wi Fi is great around the hotel and in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and beds comfy. Breakfast had a nice assortment and the coffee was free flowing!! All in all we had a great time here and definitely would return when we come back to Agropoli. Highly recommended!!
