Stayed here in October for 6 nights, wasn’t suppose to but the transfer dropped me off here in error. Long story short, because they owned my actual booked accommodation, I was allowed me to stay here instead. Turned out to be a great move! Lovely place, so quiet yet beautiful. Lovely apartment and staff (including the very helpful Michael - thank you all). It is a slightly steep walk back up as others have mentioned but only a 6 - 7 minute walk, I managed it each night as a 53 year old after a few beers and food so it was actually beneficial in a way. It felt totally safe even after dark. I loved my stay here, very close to the bars and restaurants and the main beach which is gorgeous. My transfers error proved rewarding for me. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

We’re leaving today after spending 10 nights here. This is definitely the best apartment we’ve stayed at since we started holidaying on Kefalonia, 4 years ago. Our room (no.4) was spacious with a well equipped kitchen complete with small oven, table and chairs and tv, and a lovely little balcony with a partial sea view (very pretty). The bed was very comfy, which in our experience is a rarity here!! The shower was small as they always are, but it was wall mounted and there was a plentiful supply of hot water from morning to evening. You just get used to the lack of space, and we were given clean towels every day. Toiletries were left in the bathroom for us too. The staff are very friendly and relaxed but with a great attitude to guests. Nothing was a problem! We were plagued by mosquitoes when we first arrived, (quite rare to have so many but they had hatched as a result of standing water due to the very recent hurricane, and much of the island was suffering). The staff here went out of their way to provide us with plug in repellents and cream, and cleaned our room every day just to make sure. The problem went after a few days and by then we’d been to the chemist for more cream. Next time we’ll be more prepared! The swimming pool here is ace, very clean and plenty of space around the pool. Also showers and WC’s nearby. And it was great to have an alternative option to the beach. The Pool bar was an added bonus although we didn’t use it much. We spent most of our beach days at Makris Gialos which is a steady walk downhill from the apartments. It’s a really lovely beach, very popular and great fun. Not off the beaten track if you like to be completely on your own (which we have done before several times in other areas). But this time we loved meeting people and soaking up the holiday fun. We used Blue Paradise sun beds which were free if you bought a drink or two or three, the owner is very charismatic and loves a chuckle. Argostoli is approximately a 40 min walk away and €6 in a taxi. There are buses but they’d stopped for the season. There are several supermarkets in Lassi and plenty of restaurants. We ate at Tzogias 3 times - a family friendly traditional restaurant, generous portions and free cheesecake if you’ve got room for it. The rest of the time we cooked at home. The hill. There is nowhere on Kefalonia without a hill! It’s not that bad, but it is steep in places. We’re definitely much fitter now than when we arrived. And if you struggle, try walking backwards! A big thanks to everyone at Sunset Paradise. We will be back.

We arrived a day late due to the hurricane to find no power, no water and bits of a tree in the pool! We were allocated a different room to the one booked for one night as ours wasn't ready. To be fair a tree had fallen on the apartment next to ours and that needed to be removed. Loads of people turned up and set about the trees with chainsaws and it was long before most were made safe. There was one car that was completely trapped by a tree and and the fire brigade had to deal with that. Due to the lack of power, Michael had given all rooms some nightlights but no lighters! Luckily we had seen this coming and got our own. Our proper apartment was nice, good aircon but the shower was small. It was a shame that none of the events highlighted in the visitor book in the room happened and equally dissapointing that the pool side bar shut at 5.30 and there was nothing further to do. The hill is steep. In the heat of the day, it's a slog! Overall, the problems that the weather caused cannot be held against Sunset Paradise and they dealt with them swiftly, it's just a shame that the evening events didn't happen. Michael and all the staff were very friendly and good to chat to, it was clean and tidy and remarkable value.

This was our second time staying after staying 2 years previously. The hotel is your typical basic Greek hotel, the staff are lovely and very helpful. The views are gorgeous, which is due to the location and a bit of a hill. I'm not the fittest but could manage it daily, and it helps to burn the holiday calories. There are taxi's for about €7 for anyone it is too much for. Will be back again in the future.

We had a wondering stay here... when booking we were simply looking for somewhere to sleep as we had a lot of adventures planned and ate out everyday. We hired a car and toured the whole island in during our week’s stay. Sunset is basic but quaint and traditional, and for a great cost if holidaying on a budget. We booked a studio and paid for the aircon when we arrived, they claimed we wouldn’t need it that time of year, but my partner is hot blooded! Only one unit was working, but it circulated enough cold air for the two of us. We requested a kettle on arrival but two days later we still didn’t have one. We don’t like to cause fuss and only wanted it for our morning coffee so just boiled water in a pan in the end. We stayed at the end of October and the season had finished several weeks earlier so just bare in mind most of Lassi is closed... the streets were quiet, only 4/5 restaurants were open and not many were staying at the resort. It was perfect for us to escape the hustle and bustle at home, but may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The worst thing about the studio apartment was the bathroom. It was very outdated and the shower was way too small for us - it’s about the right size for a skinny teen! But we put up with it, after all we felt like we got a bargain! There were lots of mosquitos around and tiny flies... that’s just Greece, it’s humid. It is annoying and upsetting for anyone with a bug phobia (like me!). We took a plug in repellent and applied bug spray religiously, but are glad to report we came off fine :) The pool is gorgeous, we recommend the cocktails, and with the sunset it really does feel like you are in paradise. Overall we had a delightful stay and would recommend for budget travellers.
