Paul and Karen made everything about our 4 night stay outstanding. Pre arrival info was extremely useful, as was assistance with all sorts of things, inc booking of battlefields tour guide for two of our days and local info.. Great breakfasts and (pre arranged) evening meals were superb (this despite having to deal with a power outage due an electrical storm).
Great hosts, and lovely location.
Thoroughly recommended.

Sneezewood farm b and b near Dundee is a good location to explore the battle fields of the Anglo-zulu war. The room was clean and the large bed comfortable. The host gave us all the information about how to get to the battle fields of the anglo zulu war. He also told us about the local eateries. The breakfast was excellent and plenty of it.

A hidden little gem just outside Dundee. Family run, very clean with abundant hospitality. The rooms are varied in design and very comfortable - just like home really. Food was delicious and your hosts Paul and Karen could not do enough for us. Nothing was an issue for them and went beyond to make us comfortable and welcomed. As a group of 10, Sneezewood was a fabulous place for us to chat around a table with a good glass of wine and many belly laughs. Paul is always on hand to assist with activities, most important being trips to the Battlefields. Thank you so much Paul and Karen. What a pleasure staying in your beautiful home. We definitely recommend this lovely farm!

This was our fourth stop on our little road trip. This was a stop between Tembe Elephant Park and Drakensberg. From the moment we arrived, Paul made us feel like old friends. The accommodation is top notch. Good sized rooms. Extremely comfortable beds. Scenic views. Beautiful gardens and very peaceful. We had dinner here and the food was better than most restaurants that we had visited so far on the trip. Wine was great and very cheap. We would not hesitate in booking to come here again if we visit this area. Thanks Paul. Great establishment

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Sneezeweed it was great to stay on a farm and it was relaxing and peaceful. We stayed there on the recommendation of Anthony Coleman a fellow battlefield guide and his wife who live in Dundee and we are happy to recommend it to others.

Our stay was to enable us to visit Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana for the day while being guided by Tony who is an award winning guide for the Zulu wars and we had a great though very hot day doing that - the farm was a perfect base to achieve this visit.

Our room was fine and comfortable as it had air conditioning and it was great to sit on the veranda. Paul was an excellent and very knowledgeable host and we would like to thank him for his advice on a no of matters. By the way I sent a couple of emails of thanks Paul but for some reason they may have not got through.

In May 2011 we had the pleasure of spending 2 nights in this B&B during a visit to Dundee- being part of a trip to the Natal Battlefields area
( Dont be put off by the reference to " Wasbank Road" - whilst the farm is on this road just out of the town reference should really be made to Dundee as that is essentially where it is )

The location of the B&B is ideal- being in the countryside, yet just few minutes drive from town.

The owners ( Paul and Karen ) have gone to great lengths to ensure that all is perfect in the B&B and it shows with the exceptionally well appointed rooms and the outstanding meals prepared by Karen and served by Paul who , together, make the ideal host and hostess.

We felt at home and relaxed during our stay and did not want for anything . Excellent rooms, food and surroundings coupled with the peace and tranquillity of a farm made for an excellent stay.

There is also a gift and coffee shop on the property ( open Thursdays and Fridays ) where a wonderful selection of gifts are on sale.

In our opinion there is nowhere else we would stay in Dundee and hope to return someday.

We overnighted in the beautifully appointed self catering cottage . I could have stayed a week at least. It was so clean and fresh, comfortable and well equipped. We had requested breakfast which happened to be Valentine's Day. There was a special chocolate at each of our places! The food was lovely but the service was AMAZING. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly highly recommend this little piece of heaven.

We stayed here for 2 nights in order to explore the Batlefields area and were not disappointed. The farm is a great location and the owners Paul and Karen could not be more helpful. Our room was large, airy and comfortable, I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

This place is just awesome in every possible way. First of all, the food was beyond delicious. We had dinner and breakfast and would surely recommend to have both. Paul the owner was really attentive, was quick to help with every question and really went out of his way to make us feel at home. The farm is beautiful, the room is very clean and well decorated, really feels like a 5 star hotel.

Stayed in February this year. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and the food excellent. We stayed for dinner as well and that was superb as well. We toured the site of the Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift battlefields with Anthony Coleman (all arranged by our hosts) and that was excellent as well. Anthony gave a very good account of the event leading up to the conflict as well as describing the conflict itself.

I would very much recommend booking to stay at Sneezewood as a base from which to explore the battlefields as well as visiting the brilliant museum in Dundee.

Answer from Sneezewood
Dundee, South Africa
Hi there It would be no problem at all to assist with arrangements to visit the battlefields. The most popular day trip is to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift - both Anglo-Zulu battles. This is a full day tour. The guide would meet you at Sneezewood in the morning and then you can either travel in your vehicle or theirs to the sites before returning late afternoon. I will need to double-check the cost for the guide to travel with you but i know that for you all to go with the guide in their vehicle it is approximately R1,800 for the day. If you can give me a day or two to check on the rate for the guide to travel with you, I will get back to you soonest. The other very popular day trip is to Talana Museum (located at the Battle of Talana site, Anglo-Boer battle) and the Battle of Blood River (Boer-Zulu). There is a lot to see at the Museum which covers the History of Dundee town, coal mining and agriculture and of course, the battlefields. Blood River has a life size bronze ox wagon monument depicting how the wagons circled during the battle. There is a small but informative visitors centre making it possible to visit this site on your own. I hope this is helpful but if there is any other information you need or that I can help with, please let me know. I will be in-touch in the next few weeks with other useful information for your visit. Warm regards Karen
