Our host, Elizabeth, and supporting staff ensured we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Meals prepared to perfection with home grown vegetables. Deserts were always a tasty surprise. Our accommodation was comfortable and clean. Chez Nous was our base for visits to the Battlefields. Elizabeth, an accredited tour guide, did a fantastic job in providing appropriate information and visits in a very difficult Covid restricted environment. All in all a memorable experience which we would like to repeat in less constraining times.

A very pleasant stay with Elizabeth and team at Chez Nous in Dundee. Lovely room, great meals, supported by their organically grown fruit and veg. The French themed dinner was a bonus, thoroughly enjoyed.

Comfy room. NO aircon si wouldn't like to stay in the height of summer!! It will not be pleasant. Breakfast is great. Good homemade fare with a large variety should you be fussy. Oh, don't forget to take your own shampoo with as they don't have any complementary issues.

Thank you for your review. We have opted for the more conservation option of ceiling insulation in all our rooms instead of the power hungry air conditioner and Dundee is much cooler than Durban. Air conditioner are also a health Hazard especially during Covid19. Regarding the shampoo: before Covid we had refillable shampoo bottles which are forbidden at this moment. We our strict green policy , we have always bee n against through away plastic containers for shampoo and other goods. Indeed our breakfast menu has a large variety to choose from and mostly made here. Thank you for staying at Chez NOus

We almost stayed more than 8 weeks at Chez Nous and that was an amazing experience. Elizabeth is a great host. She arranged everything flawlessly for us. She has a warm heart and we were pleased to meet her every minute in Dundee. Besides, we had the opportunity to visit Talana museum in her guidance and enjoyed an unforgettable lunch at the game reserve nearby. Nikki and Mandela were also always around. They assisted us anytime we needed; Nikki even reported the weather for our flight to airfield very early in the morning. We collected many memories and we still miss our dogs Bella and Bruno. Yes, we miss Biscuit, too :) So a little bit about the facility; trust me, you won't be disappointed. There are plenty of room options and we had stayed at Mauritian and Egyptian rooms for 3 weeks. These rooms are side by side and in the middle of whole plot. . Mauritian is a minimalist room with a fully-equipped kitchen. Everything is properly organized. It feels cozy and relaxed. Especially, I miss our dinners on the patio. Egyptian is a little bit wider than Mauritan but has no kitchen. So, both of these rooms are great for especially single travellers. They are surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. Then we were upgraded to Spa and Cycad executive rooms. These two rooms are at the main facility and Spa room has a fully private lawn. I really miss every morning I woke up there. The bed is facing over the lawn and the garden is decorated with trees which have bird nests. It's perfect for sunbathing and long Sunday breakfasts. Besides, Spa room provides a very large bathroom which is convenient for disabled guests, as well. Cycad is another large room with an easy access and very close to breakfast room. It also has a semi-piravate lawn with a beautiful stone table and chairs. Whole garden area is professionally designed and very-well maintained. Rooms were very well-cleaned and tidied up everyday. As being a very messy person, I was fascinated by the ability of the ladies. I'd never had that much a tidy room and wardrobe in my entire life.Probably I'll never have unless I've the chance to stay at Chez Nous again. The breakfast was a perfect start for everyday. There was variety of options and we'd the chance to try them all. No disappointments. And if you're lucky enough, maybe you can taste delicious croissants of Madame Durham. They also prepare dinners on demand and I think it's one of the best options in Dundee. Honestly, this place can even serve as a restaurant. The hardest part of our stay was saying goodbye to our home and I hope someday I can stay at this beautiful place again with all these beautiful people. Thank you very much. Pour les gens français: vous aller avoir votre drapeau en Afrique du Sud. Vous voulez autre chose? Donc, et La Marsellaise :) Sie lieben Deutschen, auch :)

1. Rooms were allocated using age... So I arrived first but got a smaller room because she ask who is the oldest 2. She said dinner is not included in our booking but when I check on the voucher dinner was included. She said can't help us., suddenly offered to buy us Nandos. We told her not buy Nandos but give us R180, she refused and still buys Nandos. I believe we should have give a choice what to eat and not forced to eat Nandos. 3. The time we came back from the depot Nandos was bought (1/2 chicken and small chips R95, salad R27 and 2 soft drinks R18 Total cost R158. 4.She was shouting "go to your room the food is ready"... "go to your room the food is ready" and doesn't listened what we were trying to say

Response from CHEZNOUSDUNDEE, Owner at Chez Nous Bed and Breakfast

This booking was extremely difficult from the start: We only got their vouchers at 19H00 which included a dinner for R180.00 They did not understand the difference between a hotel 5 Star and a B&B. Their attitude and rudeness to me and my staff did not help either. They wanted their money for their meals which is illegal and fraud according to their travel vouchers. So the solution of the best take away in town the Nandos was in my view very generous and good which cost R178.00 per person with their allocation of R180.00 which I fetched and delivered into their rooms on a tray. I hope in the years a head they will learn to be grateful and adapt to circumstances. I certainly would NOT like to accommodate this group again at Chez NOus B&B

Wholesome breakfasts and great warm hospitality. Elizabeth the owner and manager goes the extra mile in every way. Even though we were away from home for work we didn’t feel homesick at all. Great French inspired experience. Highly recommended for both work or family getaways. Marcus Naidoo
