I love Brenton on Sea next to Knysna on the Cape’s Harden Route. I last visited in 1978 so very excited to return in 2022. I searched on line for a number of locations but was drawn to the Brenton-on-Sea Beach House both for its location and ambience. We weren’t disappointed. On our arrival we were shown into our magnificent en-suite bedroom which faced the garden and had a north easterly aspect. Our bedroom overlooked the stunning garden and swimming pool with a lovely veranda through double French Windows. Very tastefully furnished and decorated in pale shades of grey, white and lilac. Parking provided in front of the premises and free wifi. Our stay included breakfast which was sometimes challenging because of load shedding but Derrick Coetzer our host, provided us with a load shedding timetable which was very helpful. Breakfast was largely continental with cooked eggs on request. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom as well as a sink so very convenient for making your own beverages. Derrick even supplied fresh flowers in our bedroom. He is a host with great local knowledge and also an extremely talented photographer. Derrick made great suggestions for restaurants, things to do during our limited 3 night stay. Thanks to Derrick we really packed a lot in! Would definitely return to the Beach House again if the opportunity ever arises to visit this stunning area again. The beach is incredibly beautiful and a very peaceful stay surrounded by birds and wildlife.

Brenton beach house was neat and tidy. Derrick was awesome, hospitality was a 10. Will definitely go again to stay. What a great way to have started our honeymoon. Perfectly set away from the main roads, quiet and nesteled away in the trees seeing beautiful birds nesting in the trees. Nature at its best.

Brenton beach house was an experience of tranquility and kindness. The rooms are crisp white, clean and fresh. I loved the private entrances to each room. The wide verandas extending the living area embrace a paradise-like garden with tall palms, a swimming pool and the sound of birds. Although our rooms did not have a sea view (others have), this tranquil view of the semi inner court was lovely. Breakfast was served by the owner, Derrick, who not only bakes his own breads, prepares your eggs, but assists with a wealth of advice on places to visit. As host he is kind and generous, professional and goes to lengths to create a holiday that is remarkable. His exquisite photographs decorate the space and add to the appreciation of the beauty of an exceptional landscape.

Hi Derrick WOW…my wife & I have not stopped raving to our family & friends about our accommodation, your hospitality and the staff. You made us so welcome into your “home” that we felt at “home from home”. We wanted a quite, restful, peaceful 5 days, that’s what we got & felt when we sadly had to leave. Our view from “Honeymoon Suite” was remarkable…listening to the waves…….. Guest house is beautifully situated, short drive to main road, easy access to walk or drive to the stunning beach. Wow! My expectations were exceeded! The hospitality we received from Derrick was amazing, everyday we were treated with suggestions for things to do in and around Knysna especially since it was our first time visiting Knysna! The rooms were very spacious, and man what a view!! Staying in Brenton was the best decision I have made in a long time, the sunrises were beautiful, it got dark quite late so we took our son for bike rides every night. I felt safe in the area. Thank you for being so accommodating with regards to our little one as well!

We have been at this beautiful guesthouse 2nd time and enjoyed it again. It´s a very nice locaiton, quite good view from breakfast room onto the sea and a very nice host. Total guesthouse is in good condition and clean. Besides from that an perfect breakfast incl. omlette is served.
