Me and my husband were one night in this 4 star hotel. One of the reasons we chose this hotel were the great ratings and connection to the therme Loipersdorf.
Unfortunately we decided to late that we want to spend a weekend there and had to take a room that was left - Tulpen Zimmer. Although the room itself was very clean, new and modern, it looked pretty dark, small and not very comfy. What i disliked the most were the windows. They are overlooking the parking lot, which per se would not be a problem but i had all the time the feeling everyone can see in our room ( although it was on 2nd floor), because i could see very clearly everybody coming in and out of the hotel, and these folks seemed very near!. Tip to the managment: get the curtains, it will make your guests much happier.
Second reason why we chose this hotel were many food recommendations. Indeed the breakfast did not leave any wish open..one could choose between many types of bread, eggs, vegetables, champagne, juice, very good coffee..bio honey, bio whatever you can think off...very nice, really all in..there the hotel gets my respect and the 4 stars.
The dinner however was somewhat dissapointing. Salad bar was the highlight, i guess there were 20 different salads, but the rest was..how to say..fatty, i dont know, i tried few main courses..some spare ribs, beef, chicken, but nothing really tasted nice. Yes, there were many sauces out there which probably had good taste, but i was not in the mood after i saw the food. I would suggest to the management to add some healthy low fat food ( like fish, vegetables, tofu.). There was also a cheese plate which is a plus, and that made me happy. Dessert on the other hand was poor. Kaiserschmarn and ice cream. 4 star hotel, 2 desserts?? Are you kidding me??
But what really got me astonished was that the stuff started to clean the dining room before 8.30 pm and prepare it for the breakfast! I mean we are talking about the 4 star hotel. You do not clean in front of your guests and take food away while people are still sitting, are you?? Here i do not mean cleaning the neighbour tables where people already left, but really food bar. At 8.30 they started to clean it and take the stuff out for breakfast..hillarious..of course we went to the room immediatelly, i mean they wanted to get rid of the guests and go to sleep i guess.
I have to be honest though, the service out of the dining room was pretty ok. Whatever we asked they made sure to arrange it.
Also very positive is that one can get the new towels & bathrobes on the reception without any problems. Also very nice were teh candys and granola bars that were waiting in the room upon arrival.
I know that my review is mixed, but thats how i felt. Mixed. Some stuff were great, other need improvement.
So final words..we would come here again, take bigger room on the sunny side, and hopefully management takes care of the dinner issues and service level in the restaurant in the meantime.

Situated in open countryside about 2kms from Loipersdorf this hotel is one of 7 or 8 clustered around the Loipersdorf Spa complex. It does not have its own pools and saunas but includes free and endless access to the adjacent spa.In some ways this is good because the spa is as impressive as any we've been to in this region of Austria (Burgenland and Styria) with numerous saunas, hot and cold water pools, wave pool etc. but it can be a bit crowded especially at the weekend. Never fear they have a solution, not cheap, but still very well done. This is in the form of "Mine Schaffelbad" an area next to the main spa containing yet more pools, massage jets and sauna of all types. Half of this at least is textile free as is the way here. This area seems more modern than the rest of the spa and is a lot quieter. With this hotel you can pre-book days when making the reservation, we did it for all 4 days but you don't need to. Is it worth the extra? Well the hotel and Loipersdorf Spa is not cheap and this is an extra cost but hey what price peace and quiet? I would do it again but maybe for 1 less days than the your stay, we didn't get the full benefit on arrival and departure days.
Room was OK, but not big (Zimmer "Lavendel") with a balcony overlooking the spa, everything was clean and beautifully presented as it is most Austria hotels in this class. Breakfasts and evening meals were included in our package and again were of a good standard. To sum up the hotel was excellent without being exceptional.
If it fits in our future plans I'm sure we shall return to Loipersdorf Spa and maybe to this hotel but as I said at the beginning there are several hotels to choose from, and would read their offerings before booking.

This place is brilliant! The hotel has high standard rooms, very spacious, comfortable and the many ways for wellness (with a special area for hotel guests only) are perfectly managed. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and besides large breakfast and dinner buffets, soup and salads are also served at noon. The inside and outside pools are amazing, plenty of space and sunbeds.
We really recommend it!

Large rooms, small bathroom, typical Austrian beds with terrible pillows and quilts. However the beds are comfortable.
Hotel staff are very friendly. The breakfast and dinner were really great, huge selection.

Nice hotel very well located as it is so close and connected to the spa. The room looked renovated and very comfortable as well as all the staff has been very supportive and extremely polite. It definitely a family friendly hotel or good also for couples. Food is good although the choice and availability can be sometime limited. In any case there is no danger to starve. It is recommended that the lunch buffet be increased with fruit and more choice of vegetables and have a wider choice of dessert. Price is good. Positive feedback.

This was our ‘treat’ night on a 6 night tour of Steiermark and Slovenia, the highest rated hotel of the tour and accordingly the most expensive.
The hotel and resort are easily located and there is good, safe parking available, connected to the hotel reception by underground passages. This is very convenient if one is already in ones Spa robe and then remembers that one has left something vital in the car!
The reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and I appreciated the chip which could be loaded with euros so that we could eat in the Spa without carrying cash or having to leave it around on sun beds etc.
We had booked a junior suite with an extra bed for myself and my two teenagers. We had a balcony and a very nice bathroom with an amazing rain shower. However, the bedroom was smaller than I had expected and we were glad of the extra balcony space. The beds were very comfortable. Whilst products were available in the bathroom we did not use them, preferring our own. We could not avoid using the toilet paper however and all I can say is it conjured up visions of infant school and Izal toilet paper – remember the scratchy stuff like tracing paper?! Not quite what I would expect at a 4* hotel but then it was probably incredibly biologically friendly and recycled to fit in with the hotels ethos! We had an air con control which we could not seem to over- ride from a central control…we should have queried this at reception but we didn’t – we slept with the balcony door open and no covers!
We appreciated the robes, swim bag and spa towels provided and set off for the Spa pools as soon as possible. If on an overnight stay you get Spa entrance for 2 whole days. We did not realise this when planning our itinerary so did not make full use of the second day’s entrance, which was a shame.
The Spa is connected by underground passages and lifts which was a good feature. It was clean and well maintained and the restaurant we ate in had a great choice of food cooked to order.
Being high season, fantastic weather and taking day guests, the Spa was very busy and at 11.30am we were far too late to bag three sun loungers outside by the pools but actually it was sooo hot that we were happy to relax inside out of the sun in between swimming and diving and sliding! Maybe loungers reserved for hotel guests only would be an idea – if difficult in practice.
Hotel guests have sole use of the Spa from 7am- 8.30am and this was a lovely quiet experience, well worth dragging the teens out of bed for before breakfast!
In the evening there was a live band in cafe which could be enjoyed from the balcony - if you are into country music! Otherwise 10.30pm would seem a long time a coming!
We enjoyed great food although the main course at supper was a bit mass produced-tasting, but nevertheless attractively presented. We had a choice of 3 mains offered to us at check in . The salad and dessert buffets were lovely. The breakfast buffet was superb - all you could wish for and more - so many organic products! Tea and Coffee were waitress service. We felt that the restaurant should have had air con and that the tables were rather squashed together....we were so close to our fellow diners that we felt we ought to converse with them and when my daughter dropped her napkin, the man at the next door table bent down and retrieved it for her, much to her dismay!
A lovely treat but not sure we could cope with more than a day or 2 of such a crowded Spa! Quite expensive for overall experience
