We arrived at a ridiculous time in the early morning and Jessy kindly let us in and checked us in. The hostel is small but feels very homely. The location is okay, it's close to the beach but it's in a quiet area so it can feel scary at night especially as the road outside isn't well lit. We stayed in a room which shared a bathroom with another room which wasn't a problem. Jessy is lovely, she's a brilliant host and is always cheerful. If you like dogs, there is a resident dog called Luna and she's pretty lovely too. Overall a good stay!

The accomodation La Casa de Jessy is very good for the price. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are nice with ensuite bathroom, TV, WIFI in the room and own little terraces with hammocks for everybody. Breakfast is good and the whole place is pretty quiet to relax. The shower wasn't warm at all but that wasn't that big of a problem because outsides it was warm enough. The only thing is that we didn't meet jessy at all and the girl who works there doesn't know a lot, not even where to buy groceries so she isn't a good source for information.
What we didn't really like is the town of Mancora itself. The beach is not nice because there are dead birds and drugged people trying to sell stuff tomyou everywhere. There are also vendors everywhere trying to sell everything to you. The beach is why you come there and it's not relxing at all. The town itself isn't beautiful at all neither. So if you still want to go to mancora, stay at jessy beacause it's good value for money.

We (a couple in our 30s) stayed at Jessy's place for almost 2 weeks in July-August 2014, and it was everything we could want in Mancora - quiet, extremely friendly, nice rooms, nice courtyard area, immaculately clean, and an easy walk to the restaurants and bustle of the central beach. Because it's a 10 minute walk down the beach, North of town, there is no noise from nightclubs or anything. There is breakfast included - varying each day - and if you want you can use the kitchen for a minimal fee of US$1 per day. Jessy herself is also extremely attentive and helpful - often going out of her way to be supportive to guests. For my birthday - which happened while we were there - she even baked me a cake! :) So, it felt like home.

Only 2 downsides: 1) no hot water (though it's hot out anyway), and 2) because the place is removed from town you have to be careful walking there very late at night (after 9 or 10pm). Still, ubiquitous moto-taxis that can bring you to Jessy's from the center for about US $1.

I stayed at La casa de jessy for 5 nights in December.
It's a 5-10minute walk to the main town and beach, very peaceful overnight and the rooms are comfortable and spacious - good nights sleep every night.
Helpful that each room has a refrigerator.
No running hot water is not a problem when the outside temperature is above 25, but not ideal when it's cooler.
Comfortable hammocks to chill out in. The internet was patchy at best.
When I arrived I asked for a kitesurfing recommendation - I was just told roughly where I could find some, but no actual recommendation.
They only take card payment with Visa, despite me booking through a third party with MasterCard. Sadly when I was there the card machine didn't like my visa and I had to get cash from an ATM which charged about 10% in fees. Not ideal.

We tried 4 different hotels in Mancora and la casa de Jessy was just fantastic :
LOCATION
Nearly on the beach (you can hear the waves from your bed) and only 5 minutes walking from the center, perfect if you want to stay away from the noisy bars and just chill out by the ocean !
ROOMS
Quiet and peaceful, you sleep in charming bungalows, nicely decorated and perfectly oriented (stay fresh by day and warm at night).
SERVICE
Well managed by a Peruvian-German couple. They are very friendly and happy to tell you the good stories and advice about Mancora. Even the night keeper (Charli) was very helpful.
FACILITIES
Free and excellent breakfast, free WIFI, free water, well kept garden, hamoc, fully furnished kitchen and BBQ are available.
CONCLUSION
We definitly recommand this place in Mancora.

We stayed a long time at Jessy's casa. We enjoyed the proximity of the sea and of the center. The market is not so far and we could use the kitchen. The place is very safe and cosy, well held by Jessy. We recommand it!

We booked 3 nights here and ended up spending 10! Jesse and Teresa are very helpful and friendly. They had breakfast for us every day, did our laundry and cleaned our room on a regular basis. There is no hot water, but after a day on the beach, a cool shower is nice. The outdoor shower can be a bit warmer with better water flow than the one in the room. We were here over a National holiday and I think it was one of the quietest places in Mancora. A short walk to town or the beach or a 2 sole motto ride will get you anywhere you need. I would stay here again with my family.

We arrived at am with the nightbus from Equador and we were just given our room and could sleep a little, the administration was done after we rested. Jessy(the owner) could speak quite good english and breakfeast was included. The beach is also just a 5 minute walk away. She gave us really good advise for dinner(e.g. la mosca en la sopa) and there was even a fridge in our room. There were also a lot of roofed hammocks and a outdoor shower to wash our feet when we came back from the beach(there was of course a perfectly fine shower in our room as well)
They washed our stuff here and she organized a surfing teacher for us and gave us tips how to best visitthe sights around town(swimming with turtles etc.)
In the end we could even stay in our room 'til evening because our bus left at night and weren't charged any aditional fees.
All in all I would really recomend a stay here!!

Casa de Jessy is little out of town but within a 5 minute walk of the tourist shops and the centre. It is very close to the beach, in a 2 minute walk. Jessy is very friendly, she helps with organizing buses and told us which companies can be better avoided. She let us stay in the room before the check-in time since we arrived in the dark at 5:00am. The rooms are clean, we had a shared bathroom which we shared with only 1 other room. The common area are full with hammocks where you can relax and enjoy the quietness.

Jessica was an excellent host. We arrived at 5am in the morning and left 4 days later at 3:30am and she was up to greet us/ and take us to the bus stop! Over and above the call of duty! She even called us a taxi for when we got off our bus in Piura! Her place is a little oasis with palm trees, flowers, hammocks and a lovely outdoor shower. Kenny and I were surfing most days and loved to come back and relax. The rooms were good and the fridge was handy to have. We used her kitchen a few times which was great when we didn't want to eat out. We had lots of lovely conversations with Jessica and will always remember our stay in Mancora!
