We were looking for a place to relax after too many hikes through the Andes, as such a hotel with good swimming pool and garden was key.

Unfortunately this place didn't have any of those. All the rooms face a wall, and everyone walks in front of every room every time they want to go to the swimming pool / leaving the place, leaving no intimacy. The swimming pool area is really uncharming and don't invite you to stay.

The rooms were moderns with a big TV screen. However this place was not well maintained as the "new stuffs" look pretty dirty. We didn't have hot water when we tried to shower.

Breakfast was basic but juice was good. Staff unfriendly / manager friendly

We left after one night instead of 4 because of this.

If you look for a place to sleep, a bit more luxurious than usual this is place. If you want to stay in the hotel during the day to relax and enjoy the pool while reading, go somewhere else

We had a wonderful time in this little (only 7 rooms) hotel. The owners are very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean. All is still 4/5 months old! We had the best shower in weeks and a good breakfast! The place is perfect, 100 metres from the beach and 200 metres from the centre. At night it's really quiet. The swimmingpool is nice, clean and big enough. At the garden there were hammocks as well.
Only thing I miss were pillows at the sunbeds.

It has taken me several weeks to complete this review since I needed some time to cool off and I take these reviews seriously so wanted to be fair.

This review has more to do with a ''service'' that Christian offered us than with the hotel.

The hotel was decent, had nice furnishings in the rooms and was clean. The breakfasts were good with nice fresh juices and eggs. The biggest issues about the hotel was the sketchy road you need to take to get there and then that there is no shade in the yard to escape the sun so you basically need to hide in your room.

We were a group of 8. Three adults and 5 children.

After Mancora, we were planning on travelling north to the Ecuador border. Christian offered us a service to escort us to the Ecuador border on an entire day of activities and sight seeing that included going to a couple of nice beaches along the way as well as going on a boat excursion which included an alligator sanctuary. His price was VERY expensive at 800 sols in comparison to the regular bus companies that went to the border but we were nervous about the Peru/Ecuador border crossing hearing that it is not the most safe. He told us that he would take us for the entire day, would pay for all of our excursions and would get us through the immigration offices and to an Ecuador bus company on the other side so we could go further inland.

Five minutes before we were supposed to depart, our van arrived. Christian then approached me and told me that something had come up and that he was unable to join us for the day but that he had a driver that would look after us. He told us that this driver knew English and that he understood all of the excursions that he was to take us to. I was nervous about this sudden change in plans but Christian gave me his cell phone number and assured me that I could call him if we needed anything at all.

Immediately upon departing we realized that our driver did not know a word of English. He took us to the boat excursion but then told us that we needed to pay for it. We explained to him through some painful translations that we had already paid for the excursions and we told him we paid 800 sols. The driver almost lost his mind. He got really upset with us and told us that he only was paid 200 sols. We told him that we were sorry, but that he would need to work that out with Christian and that Christian would need to reimburse him for the boat excursion. He was so upset but reluctantly paid the entrance fee.

The tour ended up being a waste of time and money because the guides only spoke Spanish and Christian was not there to translate for us as promised. The driver spent the entire time talking to anyone who would listen that he was only paid 200 sols when we paid 800.

By about 3:00 we were very hungry and we asked the driver to stop so we could get some food. He refused to stop for us and pointed to his watch basically saying that he wanted to go home.

He took us to the border town but we painfully begged him to take us to the immigration office explaining that we needed our passports stamped with the proper exit and entry stamps. He told us that this wasn't necessary. I insisted that we needed to call Christian and asked to use his cell phone. The driver reluctantly gave me his cell phone but let me know that he didn't want me using it and that it was costing him money. I connected with Christian and let him know that the day was not going as planned and I told him that the driver seemed very upset with us but we had not done anything wrong. I told Christian that he needed to convince the driver to take us to the immigration office before we were dropped off at a bus station. Christian was nice on the phone and assured me that everything would be fine.

The driver got lost and had no idea where he was going. The office was not hard to find, he was just not prepared. Once we got to the immigration office, he was quickly out of his van talking to other cabbies again about how we paid 800 sols and how he was only paid 200 sols.

We got our proper passport clearances and then bought some ice cream cones from the store that was next door since we were all starving. We even bought an ice cream cone for our driver. When we got to the van the driver took his cone and folded his arms and refused to drive us to a bus station in town. I again asked him to use his phone to call Christian. This time his phone miraculously was out of order and so I could not make a call.

Our bags of luggage were then dumped out of the van on to the pavement and he drove away leaving us there while eating his ice cream cone. You can imagine our shock and disappointment.

My family has just finished travelling 5 months throughout South America and this was clearly the worst experience that we had of the entire trip. It was unsafe and irresponsible for Christian to do this to us and to make so much money off of our trust in him.

Although this review has less to do with the hotel, I do believe it is important to have hosts and managers that are honest and ethical. Do not trust the management at this hotel and certainly do not take him up on any of his ''services''.

Everything said about the property and owners is correct. It's all nice and new, great wifi and I got a lovely friendly greeting. Drawback sadly is the location which on my 2nd night here was so close to loud live music that it wasn't just the volume that kept me awake but the vibration from the bass. I chose the hotel because previous reviewers had said it was a quiet location and i wanted a few relaxing beach days. it was as far from this as you could possibly imagine. If you want to dance the small hours its perfect, if you want to sleep, it's not.

I can only go from my experience and maybe this doesn't happen every Saturday but if it does, it's a problem (if you're not out) and that's a real shame.

Very nice place far from the crowd and near the sea, 3 minutes walking from the center of Mancora. Nice, new and wide rooms. Garden, swimming pool, excellent breakfast. Very nice and friendly people. Wifi in the whole space, amacas waiting for you outside in the garden. A very good choice.

I must point out straight away that I am totally not the sort of person who would usually bother to write a review on Trip Advisor - I'm pretty lazy. But I just had to write a review of this hotel.

My step-sister and I booked a night here when we were visiting Mancora, we thought we'd stay here for one night and then find somewhere else - but we ended up staying for four nights (the whole time we were in Mancora)! As soon as we walked through the (very secure) gate onto the grounds we were met with smiles all round and introductions to the owner and his fiancée. Both were extremely friendly and chatty. The couple also have two dogs who are very friendly and incredibly cute.

At first we were slightly disappointed with the size of the pool but after a day we realised it's plenty big enough for the amount of rooms/bungalows they have. The hammocks are a brilliant idea for relaxing on in the afternoon.

The location of the place was really perfect. Only a two-minute walk to the beach and shops and restaurants but far away enough that you can get away from the party atmosphere of the place for a while! It's actually really quiet here at night.

The rooms are very clean and light, there's only a ceiling fan to keep it cool but it never seemed to get too hot. In the height of summer it might be a different story.

We had breakfast here twice - we had two eggs, some bread and jam, coffee and juice. It's not the most exciting breakfast (though the freshly made juice/smoothie was wonderful) but just enough for a good start to the day.

All in all I would definitely stay here again if ever I'm lucky enough to be back in Peru!

This place was amazing. Nice clean rooms, good pool, amazing breakfast (good breads, cereal and yoghurt, fruits, cheese, jam, dulce de leche, eggs of your choice, coffee, tea and fresh juice) and the best part is the staff. They are lovely. They helped us out with a really difficult situation and made us feel very at home.

This is a new hotel which is still being finished so it's not quite perfect but will be soon. I spent two weekends at Casa Villa and loved every moment I was there. Cristian and Pilar went out of their way to make my visits as comfortable as possible. Although only breakfast is included in the price, I ate other meals there too, cooked beautifully by the charming chef. I'd definitely stay there again if ever I go back to Mancora.
