Mama Sirena Resort is a very nice and relaxed accommodation located in a quiet area near to the beach, but you can walk to the downtown of Máncora.
Our room was big, clean, bathroom with 24 Hours warm water, well decorated and the doublebed was realy comfortable.
The owners are from Holland and Peru! both are running the resort and doing a very good job giving the guest every thing they need and giving you the the feeling of beeing at home. When we stayed at Mama Sirena Resort in January this year it just had opened her doors so it gave some points of improvement like there was no wifi at that moment and the restaurant was not open yet, but the are working hard to get everything done. We had a great and pleasent time at Mama Sirena Resort.

Positives: friendly staff, attractive design, 50m from beach, nice pool, animal space with iguana, macaw and parrot. A 2 soles tuktuk ride from town or a 10min walk, meaning it was nice and quiet (discos get pretty noisy in the centre).

Negatives:

Pretty expensive, even after negotiating a big discount from the online price.

So very hot. The courtyard acts as a heat trap and blocks the sea breeze and somehow the rooms just get ever hotter, no matter how hard the little fan tried to blow. Perhaps a raised sloping roof would help, though this would limit the opportunity to expand upward. We also took the mattress protector off on our final night. It was plastic lined... Great for the mattress, not helpful for the sweating!

Mosquitos. Mancora has a massive resident mosquito population, but in most areas they are only a big problem for an hour after sunrise and sunset. At Mama Sirena, they are there all day. A warming courtyard with lots of shady corners, a well, no breeze... We spent the first night on a killing spree in our room, 20+ mossies in no time. We were still bitten, with gaps around the door frame not helping keep them out.

Breakfast was ok, though a little on the light side.

I'd recommend looking around a few places before you pay and make sure you've got a super-strength fan or a room that's open to the sea breeze. Semana Chakra looked decent and in a nice location, but appears to be super expensive. Look for something like it up the beach away from town and you'll do well.

It is a great place to enjoy mancora beach, sunlight, get tanned and party ... but there were some tips they can improve ... the breakfast is too basic and they change only one ingredient per day ... .... the room had not a full body mirror, my wife got crazzyy ..... the wifi signal in the rooms is poor and the cable channels had an horrible image (completely distorted) and there were just a few of them .... note: take care of mosquitoes, specially at night

The mind is poweful so we ignore these things and enjoyed the beach and the town.... great experience.... thanks Mancora ... thanks Mama Sirena

My wife and I decided to stay in Mancora for one month. We rented a room at Mama Sirena and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is similar to a Spanish Hacienda in whose walls you will find a variety of lush vegetation, swimming pool, and spacious courtyard. This hotel is owned by a man from Holland and his Peruvian wife. Both are very helpful and speak Spanish as well as English. My wife and I were made to feel most welcome at this hotel. We recommend Mama Sirena to anyone who wishes to visit Mancora.
