We loved our visit here. Stayed for 3 nights. First off this is not the Paris Hilton! So ppl complaining about amenities maybe didn’t understand the situation. You don’t get air conditioning room, service or carpeted floors. It is a very basic but comfortable and friendly place. From the moment we met the owner Pilar (at 3:30am btw),we felt as welcome as ever. Tony and Miguel were so helpful and pleasant.
These excellent ppl did everything they could to make us feel comfortable.
The beds were acceptable, the shower hot, the pool clean and warm. You can’t get better for the reasonable price we paid. It’s 100m from the beach, It is a short walk to all the best restaurants in town and shopping. We did not see one mosquito on any day. We highly recommend this place. Also if you were a surfer or a beginner Pilar is an instructor and will get you started at her school nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Laguna! 💯The Laguna is a kind of small but super cozy hotel in Mancora. They have elegant rooms with nice bathromms with warm!! Water. They offer really good wifi, a pool and a yoga area. The breakfast was included and was super jummy, including coffee, fresh juice, eggs and marmelade with bred. The location of the hotel is right next to the beach and next to the centre of mancora. My highlight were the surf lessons with Pilar, the surf instructor of the hotel. She made it so easy to chatch good waves and has a lot of experience to share.🤙🤙🤙 We stayed only 2 days at the Laguna in mancora but loved to stay longer if we didn't have to chatch our flight.

Best trip of my life. Pilar was an absolutely fantastic host. The location was incredible, with the beach right across the street and the surf break less than a quarter mile away.

Mancora is an awesome beach town with friendly locals, a nice break, and a fun night life. Laguna is the best place to stay!

We payed 100 Soles for a double room. For that money we got no toilet paper and key for our room. There are moscitos everywhere in the room, bathroom and outside. I couldn't sleep all night because of all the moscitos making noise and having to scratch me all the time. Moreover the planket smelled like piss. However the pool has comfortable warm water.

This is most likely on of the worst places we have ever stayed at. The owner was unfriendly and did not even answer our inquiry email. We still wanted to go there because of the good reviews, and got a room as the place was almost empty at this time.
The bungalow we got was very small, shabby, dirty, and full of mosquitos that came in through the holes in the wall and the rotten mosquito net in front of the window. The room was cheap but even for this price it was a really bad deal. It's close to the beach - but this are most of all the other hotels in Mancora, too....

We had a lovely time at this homey place. Arriving with no fixed schedule we ended up staying five weeks.

For us Máncora was definitely the best beach and surfing destination in Peru, much better than Huanchaco and Chicama. The ocean is much warmer in the far north, the beach is nicer and cleaner and there are a lot of very good restaurants in Máncora. And there is the wonderful Laguna Surf Camp!

The sandy grounds of the camp are very well maintained, with a lot of beautiful palm trees, loads of hammocks, a sheltered seating area and a small swimming pool in the middle.
There are a few double rooms/cabins, two dorm rooms and one bigger bungalow. In my opinion it's worth thinking about one of the cabins/double rooms (even for one person) instead of a dorm bed if you can afford it.
The double rooms/cabins are basic but have everything we needed: a double bed with a comfy mattress, good pillows and a mosquito net, bed tables, a shelf, many hooks to hang up towels etc., an adjacent private bathroom and a nice outdoor seating area in front of the hut. The water temperature of the shower was not adjustable but it was quite warm most of the time - heated by the sun. Talking of water, Máncora has a water problem from time to time but the owner of the surf camp does her best to provide water all the time by pumping water into an additional tank.
The whole service of the owner and her employees is very good. They keep everything in good conditions and clean. The rooms are cleaned daily very thoroughly and they put fresh linen on the bed once a week. They ask regularly if everything is ok and if you need something. Especially Pilar, the owner, is very caring. It's not always someone attending the reception but it's always someone around if you need something or have a question. The staff uses their time rather to improve or fix something instead of sitting around at the reception waiting for something to happen. The owner's dogs will give mouth if an unknown person enters the grounds and someone will show up shortly. Btw, the dogs are adorable and very cuddly, despite their size.

The camp is very close to the beach and the town centre as well as the surfing point are also not far. On the grounds is a small restaurant run by Pepe, a Belgian chef. He is very down-to-earth and prepares everything freshly when ordered. He offers a range of different breakfasts (I recommend the banana pancake) and burgers as well as pasta and more.

We felt very comfortable at the Laguna Surf Camp, enjoyed our time there very much and would love to go back!

We stayed here (two girls) for two weeks, expecting to only stay for a couple of days Laguna Surf Camp ended up being like a second home to us. Pilar and Hector were so generous and welcoming to us. They helped us in every way possible and were always up for a good chat! Laguna Surf Camp is a hidden gem of paradise from the main busy street of Mancora yet only a few steps away from the beach (I recommend to go and watch the sunset) We stayed in a dorm of 4 and were lucky enough to have the whole dorm to ourselves. They're constructed as cute beach hut/bungalow with comfy beds and an ensuite bathroom and It is also cleaned every day! Pilar offers fresh organic food for breakfast (her juices are amazing) and there are plenty of hammocks around to chill and relax. She also offers yoga and surf lessons and has an out door gym. We cannot express how much we felt like we were at home in this hostel, this place has such a good vibe and everyone who stays there always ends up staying longer! We will be returning!!

We loved our two night stay here. We arrived at about 6am and were given our room straight away which we were most grateful. The cabin was immaculately presented with all that was needed - comfy bed, mosquito net, bed side tables, chair, great shower (cold but hot water is not necessary). The pool and chill out area was perfect. Awesome upstairs restaurant with great views. Staff extremely friendly helpful. A stones throw from the beach. You can get laundry done next door.

Only issue was when we went to pay they did not have sufficient change. We raised payment at 8pm as we were leaving at 5am the next morning. We were told they would go out and get us change. Heard nothing so followed up at 930pm. Told then that no change was available. It was a nominal amount that we lost out on (10soles) but it was the principal of the matter that was frustrating. Suggest small amounts of change be held on site for these situations. This is the only reason we have given it a 3 and not a 4 out of 5.

Despite that it was a great stay and we highly recommend it as a place to stay in Mancora.

I had an amazing stay at Laguna surf camp. What was intended to be a 2-3 night stay turned into 8. I couldn't get enough. From surf lessons with Pilar, amazing breakfast from Pepe and yoga with Andrea, there could not be a better place or better people to spend your time in Mancora with! The placed has a very relaxed atmosphere with no shortage of hammocks to spend your day in next to the pool. It's also less than a two minute walk to the beach. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the vibe was exactly what I needed for my stay at the beach. Would absolutely return here time and time again (and hope to do so soon!!!) Hopefully my surf skills will continue to improve for those Mancora waves.

I stayed at Laguna for 10 days and loved the atmosphere - very chill, the people - Pilar, Andrea, Pepe and Toni, and the breakfast prepared by Pepe. The staff even went out of their way to help us to set up our BBQ at the camp. Thanks Pillar for teaching me how to surf - you are an inspiration.
