I booked this hotel based on the comments of other travelers on Trip Advisor. I initially planned on staying only 3 nights, but ended up staying a week because I really enjoyed the warm hospitality of the owners Oscar and Benita.

They have really made their hotel a great place for visitors to relax and enjoy Las Pocitas Beach (one of the best beaches in all of Peru). The hotel location is superb, a few miles south of Mancora proper but close enough to walk to town via the beach. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, closet and bathroom are large and overhead fan keeps you cool on warm summer nights. There is a color tv in each room & hammock on each balcony / porch to relax in and watch the waves roll in toward shore. If you want to pay a little extra, they also have 4 air conditioned rooms right on the beach. Their is a really nice swimming pool that is cleaned every morning by Santos. Maria & Segundo cook wonderful meals in the hotels restaurant. Pilar and Jessica will take your bar orders with a smile. William maintains the grounds/garden which are colorful & lovely. The owners, Oscar & Benita, are very helpful and will go out of their way to accommodate any guest request. They took me in like family, showing me around Los Organos and further north down the coast to see green sea turtles at Nuru.

If you are looking for a relaxing, affordable beach hotel with warm hospitality then Puerto Palos is for you.

I finished my trip through Peru arriving at this hotel, everything was very good, it is a small hotel facing the sea, I think that for the price they can offer a little more, but everything else was correct, mancora is a very quiet place but also It has many bars in the center of the city

Perfectly situated outside of town, this quiet and peaceful hostel had such charm about it. The rooms ere clean and the all of the staff apart from the women who serves breakfast are very happy to help you with anything you need. There are hammocks outside every room and its got a lovely vibe about the whole place. Apart from there being AC in the Ocean Suites, they are definitely not worth double the normal suites and are a lot less private than the balcony rooms (we stayed in a balcony room, but this was our observation). The Wifi is generally non existent but this was very nice I thought. However what you pay for is the location and the breathtaking beach on Puerto Palos's doorstep. Its located at the best part of the beach as there are no rocks to prevent from swimming, and the beautifully crafted shade hut is a great touch. Its just the right amount away from town and getting a motocop is very fun and should only cost 5 soles. We had a fantastic stay, and I everyday I liked Puerto Palos more and more.

Saludos cordiales.

I can’t believe how expensive this place was!!!!! We stayed at many much nicer places in the area for cheaper. Also the rooms look old and dingy and there is no AC which makes the room suffocating at night time and any time during the day. There were flies and bugs EVERYWERE. You couldn’t even eat the breakfast in peace. We stayed at many places in the area and none had this problem. Very disappointed at the quality of the stay compared to price. If it was priced much lower then the quality of stay would have been acceptable.

Atentamente,

At only £50 a night the rooms were a good size and clean with a comfortable bed and good shower by South American standards. The food was tolerable at best but by no means did we eat there more than once. You can eat a lot better for the same or less virtually anywhere else. Our big complaints were the total lack of service with the only staff member seemingly present for the first four days more interested in babysitting the owners children or watching TV and not controlling the owners two dogs who ran rampant throughout the hotel, jumping on and licking furniture. One of the dogs had an open wound and if the owners are going to insist on letting their dogs run around the property freely they should consider cleaning up after the dogs so you don't have to watch for dog poo walking through the property, including the breakfast area. We also didn't appreciate the owners using the hotels pool to host their family and friends on the weekends where the pool became overrun with young children who weren't staying there and parents using all the common areas.
If you are happy to feel like you are intruding on someone's family home and are happy to always eat out then you will be happy here. From what we saw from other hotels we visited during our stay in Mancora there are better options available.

CONS: They don't take Credit or Debit cards like the other hotels ONLY CASH. Away from town 10 minutes and they don't help you out to get a Mototaxi like other hotels, you have to wait and is kinda dangerous outside at night. If you decide to stay and eat at the hotel they will serve you after 30, 35 minutes max. and overprice. About hotel staff, just a couple friendly people.
Our bedrooms are nice with great view (2nd floor)
But I would recommend to choose another hotel and close to town.

I did not like staying at this hostel. It is not a hotel, It is a hostel. The prices are not accurate in respect to the services. The staff is kind but unfortunately there are only two people all time, they try to do everything. There is no restaurant only a kitchen offering home-made dishes, all of them extremely expensive. Another complaint is that there are two dogs walking all around the dining room, the swimming pool area and the "lobby". I am a dog lover but these ones seem to be under some skin treatment. In my opinion, that is not healthy. Finally, they do not accept credit cards. When I go on vacation to a beach destiny, I do not like to carry too much cash.
In spite of the good location of the hostel, I would never come again. There are so many things to improve and for the price I paid, I definitively would fine something much better, there are so many offers and options in magic Mancora!

Lamentamos realmente no haber podido cubrir vuestras expectativas. Saludos cordiales.

We have been to this hotel at the beginning of March. We travelled as a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids of 6 and 8 years old.

This was our first time in Mancora and we were very suprised with the hotel quality, good service, very nice staff and owners!

There is about 15-20 rooms. Our room was in the middle of the hotel, on the first floor. We got 2 double bed and 2 simple beds. Perfect! The safe worked perfectly, and no issues with the huge bathroom! Warm water with good pressure in the shower, thank you!

The breakfast is included and consist of bread, jam, coffee and juice, this was enough for us! You can order yummy eggs, omelet, etc. you just need to pay a small extra for it. We used to eat in the hotel, the food was tasty, price OK (better to pay more and to get good quality than the opposite and getting sick...). The pool was great and well maintain, as well as the premises. About the beach, this is one of the places were do you have a few rocks, and sometimes you do not see them. The beach in front of the hotel is cleaned, there is this young man I saw cleaning around, doing the gardening, even removing the seat pillows when it was raining at midnight. He works hard!

The atmosphere is relax, cozy, and nice. People are talking to each other, and there is several types of people. Young or old couples, family, etc. The only thing is that if you are looking for a party place, this is not the place. Go to Mancora central :)

Thank you Puerto Palos for everything! I recommend this place and if we go back to Mancora, we will definitely come back!

I was there for 3 nights and four days. The service was excellent for numerous reasons. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up and drop off at the Piura airport. very professional and safe drivers. The food was amazing and so were the drinks. I would like to give a special thanks to Maria as she gladly helped us with any questions. Puerto Palos was very safe for several reasons. Theres a security checkpoint approx one mile on the way to the hotel that keeps "unwanted" people out. In addition, i intentially left money, jewelery and electronics out in the wide open in the room and the housekeepers didnt take anything. No need to stay at any other hotel there but this one. We saw 2 humpback whales approx 200 meters from the hotel which was amazing while we were relaxing at the pool area. Great sunset views. No need to worry about snakes and other critters as their friendy Cats keep them away. Every morning around 9 am, the horses will pass the hotel so you can go ride them. Very reasonable pricing. Thats a must if you stay there .

Excelent place, nice place to stay !! The only thing that can be upgraded is the airfan in the rooms. Sometimes it's to hot !! With air conditioner this place can be paradise !! Very good restaurant, in house !! Nice view. Most of the rooms don't have a front ocean view, will be a side ocean view !!
