I was very impressed with the hotel. The top sell is the location. It has an amazing view and if you get the sea front rooms you are looking directly onto the beach.

The staff were friendly and attentive, but not intrusive and the place was very clean.

My initial fear was the distance from town, but its easy and cheap to get motor taxis back and forth (5 soles) or you can walk along the beach.

The food was great and I was impressed with everything I ate there. My only suggestion would be that they could have a bigger variety of clearly marked veggi options. For example, they had lots of pastas options, but no veggi option. I'm sure they would have made me veggi pasta of asked, but it's generally just nicer to have in on the menu. They did have some veggi options and I was particularly impressed with the quinoa salad.

Great option if you want a place to chill but still be close to the town.

I stayed here for one night. The hotel is quite clean and very comfortable. We had a nice view onto the beach. The staff was very nice and the food at the restaurant was great!

The beach right in front of the hotel is not the greatest as it has multiple rocks which won't allow you to swim safely. However, you can walk down a couple of minutes down to find a cleared part of the beach with no rocks. People still bathe in the beach in front of the hotel, just not ideal for surfing or swimming.

The hotel was nice and the crew was great and helpful. I had a wonderful room with a beautiful terrace and a spacious bathroom. No luxuries, but very good linen and towels. Breakfast was OK, not great (coffee was not the best and it was rather cold), but outside from that, no complaints. I would go back, no doubt.

Since the arrival I felt weird vibe in this place. Nobody smiles neither greets, avoiding eye contacts and looking miserable. I was the only guest throughout my 4 night stay and there were only family members of the owner including LOTS of children so I felt like I was a unwanted (but paying) guest in an unknown family house. There’s nothing around there other than horse or dog poop smell and it takes 15 min to town by motor taxi or I walked 1 hour on the beach to a nearest restaurant.

After the first breakfast with a piece of bread and coffee, I told them it’s too simple. Then both the female owner and manager, who looked malicious, said that it’s called ‘continental breakfast’ and tried to teach me different types of breakfast around the world lol. I’m a travel writer, having traveled over 100 countries and stayed thousands of hotels but didn’t want to argue about it. The fact is that it’s a piece of bread.

On my last night, I swam in their swimming pool then my white bikini turned into blue immediately. Its' from one of the best swimwear brand in the USA and I swam in several dozens of pools with the same bikini, but it never happened to me. The staff saw what happened and felt sorry about it but the owner wasn't there.

Next morning I spoke to the manager but she didn’t even let me explain the situation but shouted, “It never happened before, so how can it happen with you? And I didn’t see you swimming in the pool so how can I trust what you say?” Obviously it never happened to me either, but it happened now. She was denying the situation and trying to teach me that it's my problem. I wanted to talk to the owner but she didn’t allow me then verbally assaulted me.

Then I talked to the owner, and he said “yes, she’s an ignorant old lady with poor education, I don’t like her either” (wow, how nice to talk about his own staff like that) then again denies the situation trying to teach me about fabrics and insisted that my bikini is of bad quality. Seriously all I wanted was sincere ‘oh sorry about that, let’s try to wash it with vinegar” kind of sympathy. At the end of the day, what happened now happened, but he kept this rude and arrogant “I’m right, you’re wrong” attitude which makes me upset.

I think the basic principal of customer service for such a trouble is accept-apologize-solve but all of them were continuously keeping DENY-BLAME-INSULT attitude. When I mentioned about their attitude, he said “then go to another hotel!”. Wow.

I’ve never seen such rude people in my life. Seriously, avoid at all cost!

Los Corales is a pretty hotel, located in "Las Pocitas" beach or also known as " Mancora chico". The hotel is nice to lay down and relax IF IT IS CLEAN....i found some couches DIRTY and I had to clean them myself...BAD MAINTENANCE.

The bedroom was nicely decorated and had a BEAUTIFUL view as others have written in their reviews, however we found ants in the night tables and in particularly in the toilette. It was so annoying, I couldnt seat to pee...it was very uncomfortable. I had to use MY OWN INSECT REPELLENT TO KILL ALL THE ANTS..and they would come back after some hours...so having to spend my OWN repellent was not nice.

On Saturday morning, they cut the coconut trees and made a mess in the pool. The guy cleaning the pool did not clean properly...you could see a lot of dust...who wants to swim in a DIRTY pool? Therefore, we were unable to use the pool, my mom was VERY dissapointed, also the hotel is in front of a ROCKY beach so you cant swim in the ocean either (as somebody already mentioned).
Honestly if it is so hot in Mancora, you need to get some water in your body but the staff is lazy and not helpful...we did not get to swim anywhere...it was bad.

Also when we asked for activities they told us STARTING DEC 26 and the hotel DID NOT OFFER ANY INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT TO DO IN MANCORA. The lady said you have to go to mancora town!!!! To go to Mancora town is 5 soles in moto taxi, so to go and come back it is 10 soles and the road is COMPLETELY UNPAVED full of dust and also uphill so the moto taxi could literally flip over any moment and plus the ride was VERY uncomfortable and it took like 20 minutes just to get to the town. Vichayito beach is even farther away from Mancora.
Why is it important to have easy access to the town? To buy souvenirs, jewelry, to get meals. The meals at the hotel are expensive and BAD. You also need to go to Mancora town to catch a van to Piura.
There was no music at night so the hotel was boring...we DID HAD CABLE TV so we were able to put music in our bedroom!!!!

Summary in one sentence: This hotel has a good price, pretty too specially for pictures but they need to hire BETTER STAFF.

Suggestions:

First, maintenace MUST be early in the morning so visitors can enjoy the pool, the couches, everything clean when they wake up. They need to clean PROPERLY TOO.

Second, they must also make sure there are no insects in the bedroom so guests can have a nice stay.

Third, the staff need to be more helpful and if possible make arrangements for guests in the activities...this will make the stay of guests more enjoyable...rather than the guests have to travel thru an unpaved road for a long time and try to seek information from strangers or unknown companies. All those hotels could join efforts and pave that road!!

Fourth, staff need to be more polite and enthusiastic...show a smile who knows...this can make a difference. Put music during the day and at night. My mom told me a lady requested that bc the ppl at the hotel had no initiative...the owner or whatever has to put more effort in how to make the stay of guests more pleasant...little things that dont cost money but are just appropriate.

THE BOTTOM LINE: I would not recommend this hotel, there are other hotels with better staff and also closer to Mancora town, we saw like 20 hotels before we got to this one. We thought we should have picked maybe Sausalito beach...it was closer.

It would be cool if somebody could make a map of the location of the hotels...honestly that can be very helpful. During my stay, I was always busy and I had limited time so I did not get to do it...I would strongly recommend somebody to do it...this will help travellers.

Finally I recommed, read all the reviews of travellers and choose according to what you are looking for. If you can lay down in the beach day and night and dont mind ants in the toilette and in your stuff + dirty couches and pool...then I guess you will be okay in Los Corales.

If you see hotels of 5 stars in trip advisor give it a shot for sure, even if it is expensive it might be worth it!!! You can always stay one night in one place to be safe.
Also you might find blogs of hotels or of trips...that can also help.

Good luck!

Service and cleanliness are very inadequate. Dirty, noisy, poor facilities, poor maintenance...
Employees are slow, overworked and tired and not service-oriented at all, their typical responses are "We don't know, we are not from here but from Organos (which is a nearby town)."
Management is uncourteous and unfriendly. Do not take criticism well and when told that the accommodations were uncomfortable, they responded "Well, tomorrow you"ll sleep better in your own bed."

I relocated from a place nearby after coming here for breakfast a couple of times. Best move ever! Food, staff, view, room, all lovely. An oasis between the ocean and the desert. The grounds are especially well kept. My compliments to the gardener. I would return.

This small hotel is located directly on the ocean front, around 3 kmaway from the center. The road is dusty and disturbing while riding with the tuctuc. As you enter the place you feel as if you're in heaven. Our room had an incredible ocean view. Very relaxing atmosphere..
Except one guy, whom we could have seen only once, there's no one speaking english. Unfortunately it's also not so possible to communicate with body language. The breakfast, so called "continental" is very basic: eggs, tea, jam, butter and bread. We asked for some cheese, for which they charged as we checked out. The food was ok, but expensive when compared with the prices outside.
It's not possible to swim at the ocean, due to the huge rocks and the waves. During the day time it's very enjoyable to watch the waves hitting on the rocks, however at the night time it's horrifying to hear these voices.
This hotel is ideal for relaxing, walking along the oceanside, watching the sunset and the stars at night. Mancora is not a dream destination but if you ever pass by, you can enjoy the peace at this small hotel.

Mancora itself is not a pretty sight and after a long drive out of mugs bumpy road we arrived at a large fence. Here behind you step right into a small beautiful paradise. Very friendly staff, delicious food and top location by the beach.

This place was really super, at a very quiet spot of the coastline of Mancora, far enough from the noise of the town, but, just a 10 minute mototaxi ride from the center. We had an upper level room with a nice balcony looking over the ocean, so it was magnificent! This is the only place around the coast who provide nice beach-chairs for chilling out at the oceanside. So the whole athmosphere was really nice, and it's a highly recommended place! The only problem I had, that the restaurant has a bit bad value-for money. It may be a problem, since you can't always go into the town to eat something, because on foot it's too far. But sometimes even with the mototaxi ride calculated in the price we chose to eat in town instead to eat in the hotel. But it's a minor issue, the whole place is really nice!
