We loved staying at Los Olas. The staff is so friendly! The breakfast good! There is a great little long wave just outside the hotel if you or your family are wanting to surf. There is a great surf shop close by on the beach that will teach you. We watched the people learning to surf and everyone caught a wave. There are other places to surf close if you are more advanced. There is also really good kite surfing around the area as well. Don't rent a car. There is no place to park and it is so cheap to have a taxi take you where you need to go. The beaches are beautiful but dirty. There are a lot of dogs and horses that poop on the beach and the locals leave their trash. Los Olas is so clean and so peaceful that we loved just hanging out there and at their beach. We would recommend staying here!!

Very nice hotel in the center of Mancora.
Amazing view from the room and lovely atmosphere.
The hotel is directly on the beach and the sea.
Staff is helpful and kind.
There are lovely palms and hammocks in the outside.
Breakfast is okay, they could make more variety of it but despite that food was good.

What a great place on the beach itself, nice people and really good rooms. I recommend every one to go there, if you want a nice and relaxing holiday.

With two steps your on the beach and still it is in the middle of the city.

Group of 7 of us unfortunately had a terrible stay here in April 2011. Location about the only good thing for this Hotel. Everything was stolen from one of our rooms (clothes, electronics, wallet, camera, everything) and upon telling the staff this had happened they were completely unhelpful to the point of walking off, and the manager (male) was the most arrogant nasty unhelpful man i have ever met, he did not try to help us, infact he started shouting at us in a very odd defensive (guilty) manner and told us to leave and go elsewhere.

We suspect the staff were responsible for the robbery.

This is the worst hotel in the world and all the blame can be placed directly on the owner and his poor management skills. The service is pathetic, the rooms are not clean, the personnel in reception are rude all with the support and encouragement of the owner, who in fact, is the rudest of them all.
On the first day, whilst waiting for our room to be re-cleaned as the staff "forgot" to clean it before check in, we sat on the beach watching the waves and witnessed the owner the rocks at the homeless dogs who sat outside his hotel. On the public beach! My children were quite upset. Later that afternoon a surfer got into a verbal argument with him after he kept cutting in on surfers waves in his stand up paddle board. He was screaming about respect and "[--] gringos thinking they can surf" - all which could be heard from the his hotel, full of tourists. Other surfer's started yelling at the owner and he eventually came back in, swearing to himself like no one else, let alone children were around.
On the second day, my husband noticed some of our belongings missing. Money was taken from our travel wallet, as well as my SONY digital camera I asked the unfazed reception staff to call the owner, who after 45 minutes and 3 more requests, eventually came. After telling him our things had been stolen he became quite defensive and angry and he promptly informed you that you are free to leave. Without a refund. I did so anyway though and the rest of the trip was wonderful at the new hotel!!! I would rather pitch a tent on the beach than ever look at this hotel again. The worst of the worst - beware!

We loved our stay here, the location is very central to all the restaurants and stalls. The hotel is directly attached to the beach with sunbeds provided. The staff were great, especially Tatiana who was very helpful with everything, from recommendations to helping us book tours (especially with our lack of Spanish). The room itself is lovely with their own little balcony to relax on. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I would love to give this place 5 stars, its beautiful, in the perfect location, right on the beach, lovely grounds. My room had a huge balcony and it had hammocks and everything you'd expect. But my room was SO HOT I couldnt sleep. Outside was absolutley swarming with mosquitos so we couldn't open the doors but it was unbareable. You couldn't breathe, the air was thick and the fan in the corner did little but blow the hot air around. Sorry Las Olas, I'd love to say I'd come and stay again, it really is a lovely hotel but the heat was absolutley unbareable!

Once again, there's still no doubt in my mind that the best Hotel on Mancora's Point is definitelly LAS OLAS!!!
Co-proprietors Magali & Gustavo are by all means the finest hotelliers in the area and know exactly how to ensure all of their guests needs are complied with.
The feel of the hotel is a one of a kind, with it's very luscious and well kept tropical vegetation and shrubbery it is maintained immaculate 24/7. All staff is well trained in their respective areas and eager to go out of their way to help out on whatever is requested from them. Rooms are awesome, especially the ones overlooking the ocean, in spite of being so close to the shore, it does give a delighfull sense of privacy seldomly so well achieved and all so very clean...
What amazes me the most is that this is exactly what I want to expect and need everytime I want to get away from it all...My very own beachfront home away from home...

We stayed at Las Olas in the end of June of 2014 and had a wonderful time. We were in a third floor room looking out at the beach and it was like a dream. The staff were all kind and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect. We especially loved the easy access to the best surfing and kiteboarding in town, the point right in front of the hotel. We could easily walk 1/4 mile down the beach to enjoy happy hour at the tables set up by various restaurants in the sand, but we were far enough from the night club noise to be able to sleep peacefully. We will definitely stay here again if we are in Mancora.

Room Tip: I would stay in one of the beachfront rooms to enjoy the deck. I think they are worth the extra $.

The rooms are clean and beautiful. The location is amazing ! Right on the beach just far enough from the main street and the noise of the disco. Very central. Close to everything. No need for taxi. Can walk everywhere. Friendly staff. Right in front of the surf break. Best hotel I found so far in Peru !

Las veces que he ido a Mancora me he quedado en Las Olas. Es un sitio bonito, muy familiar, buena atención y queda cerca de todo porque esta dentro de la ciudad sin que esto sea una molestia. Te lo recomiendo
