Stayed for 3 weeks and could easily have stayed for another 3.

Had an absolutely gorgeous view of the Pacific ocean from our first floor room and balcony. The room itself was clean, with a good TV and over 30 movie channels for those lazy nights, most in English as well as Spanish.

Good range of food and breakfasts available, the service was very good and available all hours. Beers at all hours were available which came in handy once or twice.

The garden pool area is great in the mornings. We'd often go into Mancora (5 minute walk) in the afternoon for a change of scene after lunch to watch the surfers.

The hotel was quiet, and far enough away from the beach bars to not have to listen to their banging holiday sounds. Which was nice. Always got a good night sleep. It's always quite breezy in the evenings on the beach so mosquitos don't bother you. I got bit a few times in the town, but not staying by the beach or at the hotel.

The owner was very helpful and recommended the best restaurants / bars / beaches in town and more importantly, the ones to avoid. Went on a couple of tours and the owner was able to recommend the best value companies.

To sum up; great value, friendly, good service, close to the town, but not too close. Highly recommended.

This place is quiet and beautifull.
A lovelly spot. I feel it is a good value for the price.
Staff is very kind and they seem happy working here.
Special thanks to Jose who was able to here me and open the gate even when the whole town was without power and the doorbell didn't work...

Better practice your spanish before visiting Mancora.. not much English is spoken here. I find the vast majority of tourists are from Argetina.
Everyone says hello on the streets.

The map shows the wrong location.
Here is the good one on gmaps.

I stayed here for just over 2 weeks and loved it. The view of the pacific from the room and back of the hotel is truly stunning and it was lovely to sit out at the bar in the evening with a sun downer.

The room had a whirlpool bath and a shower, excellent TV stations, a mosquito net and a fan, plus a balcony.

The staff were lovely and were on-hand whenever they were needed, and the food menu is varied. The food I ate was all delicious for those nights I didn't want to eat in town.

The hotel itself is situated just far away enough from the town that you're not disturbed by the noise but close enough that you can walk to town or grab a 'moto taxi' for not very much money at all.

It is a lovely relaxing hotel, with not too many rooms in a stunning location. I would definitely stay there again.

We planned to spend 3 nights in Mancora, including Christmas, so we were looking for something a bit nicer than the usual backpacker's places. We chose Mancora Bay because it was next to the beach, had a swimming-pool, a restaurant and pretty good reviews.
We were very disappointed when nothing was as expected, so after the first night we moved to the hotel next door, that was really much better, for 28 soles more.

The first problem was with the swimming pool. When we arrived to Mancora Bay we noticed that it was not full; when we asked, the (not very talkative) lady that received us said that it had been cleaned and that the next day would be full and ready to use. However, the next day when we went for breakfast (at around 10h30), the pool was only half-full and there was no water going in. We asked again and we were told it was going to be full at 2pm, but we were given no further explanation.
The second problem was with the services provided. In the first night the restaurant was closed, so we had to go out for dinner. Since we had arrived to Mancora only a couple of hours ago and gone directly to the hotel, we wanted to ask for some restaurant tips, for directions and for a moto-taxi. However, there was nobody there to be found, so we ended up asking these questions to the people of the hotel next door, which was quite ridiculous.
The third problem was the internet. The hotel (and the rooms!) are advertised as having wi-fi but that is simply not true as we had no connection at all in the room. When we asked, we were told that the wi-fi is only in the common areas, like in the pool and in the (closed) restaurant.
Since the hotel was not that cheap, we could not ignore these problems - we were particularly worried with the swimming-pool because the beach in front of the hotel was of difficult access for me (as I was recovering from a hairline fracture), so we asked to speak with the owner during the first breakfast. We were told that she had been waiting for us during the morning ("morning" probably meant before 10h30, time that we went for breakfast), that now she was busy and that maybe later she could come. We were surprised with this defensive reply but we said we would then like to speak with her whenever possible. We finished breakfast and had showers and still no news. By this time we were getting convinced that the owner was avoiding speaking with us, probably because she knew we were not happy with the internet and the pool. We asked again and were again told she was busy, but this time we insisted and were finally told to wait 10 or 15 minutes, which we did.
So indeed after a few minutes the owner showed up to speak with us. She tried to be friendly, as we did, but she had a defensive attitude (which was not surprising since the staff must have told her that we were not at all happy). We exposed our problems and instead of acknowledging them, she tried to deny or minimize them. She said there was wi-fi, in the common areas, that the restaurant was going to be open that day and that he pool was going to be full very soon (and that the delay was due to lack of water in the whole town). We explained that since we had only 2 days in Mancora, it was a big problem to be in a hotel that after all had no pool nor internet and that in those conditions the price we had been offered was far too high, but she disagreed with us and said the price was already very low and finally she said bluntly that if we were not happy nobody obliged us to stay in the hotel. And so we left, with the impression that the owner knew very well that she was offering a very poor service.

To be fair, I must also add that the room was quite nice, with one double bed, 2 bunk beds and a large window/door to the balcony. It was simple, but nicely decorated. The only problem was that there were no mosquito nets on the windows so there was no way to keep the mosquitos out. Also, the mosquito net of the bed could not be properly closed so it was useless. The pool area was also nice, with some palm trees and pool chairs.

We would therefore not recommend this hotel at all. While we understand that some hotels may offer less services during low season, this must be told in advance. Besides, nothing excuses the reluctance of the owner in speaking with us and her defensive reaction. There are many other hotels in Mancora!

Dear clients, We regret you have all this disapointments towards our services and premises, we would like to point out that you arrive at the hotel without a reservation and you both look at the hotel its rooms swimmingpool and premises The swimmingpool was half full because we did maintenance to it, being true that when you ask about when was going to be the pool full at its level , we told you it was going to be full by the morning because in the town in Mancora the water that provides the whole town comes in only since late afternoon till early mornings ( we have a big reservoir that we fill in those hours to provide 24 hours water , for bathrooms and Kitchen to our customers , but not to fill a swimmingpool because it will finish it all ) Unfortunately that night didnt come in any water at all and was imposible to fill the swimmingpool at its level, fact that it happen the following day early in the afternoon, a bit earlier than normal because of the inconvienience of the previuos day. Regarding the lack of intermet wifi, there is internet wifi in the whole hotel and its rooms , some with better reception in their terrace than in the bed, we did offer at the time of complain to chamge them to a room with better reception in the bed ,but the clients didnt want to change rooms. Also we have at reception desk a lot of information about where to eat in town and we have , always a member of our staff (24 hours) that can be ask, we know there was a language barrier and our staff did its best at that time of the night. At day time (till 6pm we have english and spanish speaking staff. We apologise and regret that ,that particular night our restaurant services close early at night, due to an emergency of our staff, but we did have snacks and drinks servicies, that we offer but not Menu services that our clients expect it. We are emphatetic regarding the incoviniences and unpleasure moments that the injurie of the client can cause , and understand that this things make see things worst and lack of pacience. Our staff did everything to try to accommodate them in the best way regarding their and our circumstances. We hope they still have a great holiday in Mancora anyway and enjoy themselves in our lovely town. Best wishes Ursula Vargas

Brilliant accommodation right on the beach, lovely glass fronted rooms with doors that opened straight onto the beach. A perfect place to stay to relax on the beach and watch the pelicans!
Breakfast was served outside and was really good.
We were slightly off season and it was great value for money.

I stayed in Mancora Bay Hotel for almost 2 weeks over christmas and new year with my partner, and I found it to be blissful: the perfect spot if you want to be near enough to the bars/restaurants/nightlife that you can get there in a 'moto' taxi in less than 5 mins, but far enough that you don't have to hear it! I found the hotel to be peaceful and relaxing, with attentive and helpful but discreet service from the staff. The pool and bar area were gorgeous, the food was really good and best of all the hotel backs out onto the beach, which I took long walks and runs down in either direction, and on one occasion rode a horse! All in all, stylish, super-friendly, brilliantly located and excellent value for money.

It's on the beach, with a full sea view so it can't be bad.
You'll be satisfied for sure.

The hotel itself is very basic, with large but very simple rooms and basic amenities.
Service is more than basic. :)

It's just great to relax by the beach getting in and out from the room to the beach so it's worthy.

I moved here from another B&B in Mancora. This place is well located (on the beach, just a 5 minute walk into the main town) and the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, but I think it's overpriced. Breakfast was poor and there was no running hot water.

Hi we are from Vermont, U.S. My family and I spent 3 beautiful days at Mancora bay.
This hotel has a beautiful view, is located so close to the beach. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The service was great, all the staff very friendly and always on top of our needs. There is a fire pit (they provide us with wood) a pool, bar area, an outside bed! Wow! we just had a terrific time in this hotel. Highly recommended! We Can't wait to go back!
