In the northe of Peru you will find beautifull Mancora.
I stayed at beach bungalow and enjoyed it a lot. Nice people, good food, beautiful beach. Don’t pay too much for the tuk tuk ! It’s just max 10 minutes from the busstop.

I had a great time at the Mancora Beach Bungalows. I stayed 3 nights. The rooms are lovely with a spectacular view. You will appreciate the private beach. However, it's a little bit far from the city. Depending what you are looking for, it could be the best option. If you are a surfer, stay in the middle of Mancora not in that part ! Mancora is about 3 hours bus from Tumbes.

We spent several days at Mancora Beach Bungalows with our children, ages 5 and 11. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. You can tell they have families staying there often. The in-house restaurant has friendly staff, and a good range of food. Try the fresh grouper with curry sauce! Our rooms were basic but were cleaned every day; our beds were made crisply, and they even carefully arranged our youngest daughters stuffed animal on her pillow. These little things count. Oh, and a super extra bonus if you visit between august and october: you will more than likely see humpback whales jumping out in the ocean right from your lounge chair by the pool!

I booked this hotel through booking.com in November 2016 to stay for 5 nights in April 2017 and in January 2017 they cancelled the booking without explanation. The hotel had taken full payment at the time of booking in November. It took me a further 6 weeks to get my money back from the credit card company. I advise not to book this hotel in advance. Highly unprofessional behaviour from the hotel.

You are referring to Mancora Beaches not our hotel Mancora Beach Bungalows. We have had many issues with them and have been in legal processes to try to fix these. Mancora Beach Bungalows, the real hotel, has been in operation for over 2 decades and you can see from the responses that we are not the same hotel. If you head over to Booking.com (their new platform for their scam) you can see the 2 separate profiles. We are truly sorry that you are experiencing these issues, but it has not been us. This is the real Mancora Beach Bungalows hotel's TripAdvisor page and we were not the ones who stiffed you.

So we made a reservation and they said they would charge 45$ on our credit card to hold the reservation. Then we realized they had charged us 355$ and when we complained and asked for explanations they said the owner had run away with the money and could not give us a refund :S
After much fight the visa company gave us the refund and at the end we ended up without money and without a hotel.

+ Clean and spacious rooms. Cool hammock on balcony on beach. Private pool.

- Terrible breakfast (bread and jam only!) Best to eat out. Distance from town is 15 minutes (7soles) in a taxi down a bumpy dirt track. Asked for late check out of a few hours but hotel wanted to charge 50% even though hotel was half empty. Staff were not exactly friendly. No wifi in bedrooms.

Overall, we had a nice stay here but as backpackers we thought this would be a treat and it's not worth the money they charge.

The perfect place to "get away from it all". There's no other way to describe Mancora Beaches than : it's a little paradise. The location is great, situated on the pacific, waving palm trees, fisherboats on the ocean, pelicans, cormorans and frigat-birds hunting for fish, romantic sunsets. The hotel breaths an atmosphere that makes you want to stay forever. The staff spoils you beyond repair: warm, friendly and with a pro-active service minded approach. Breakfast is a health boost of fresh fruit, smoothies, juice, etc, served with a smile. Our apartment spacious, clean and cosey. And last, but certainly not least: great music by the pool (the personal playlist form manager Michael). After a stay of only a week (I would have stayed a year, if only....) I felt reborn and ready to take on the hussle and bussle of work and city life. Thanks you Mancora Beaches!!

Our trip to Peru was a month long and we rarely saw the sun. We decided to take a trip to the beach during our last week. The concierge in our hotel in Lima recommended a place in Mancora, which we were told is the only beach in Peru with lots of sun.

Mancora is very warm, and the surf temperature was also amazingly warm for the Pacific. The town is very small and there are very few options with respect to food, hotels and shopping. I won't mention the hotel that was recommended, but we found it to be unacceptable and left an hour after checking in. One of the locals recommended a new hotel that they insisted was a step above, so we went to check it out and ended up at Mancora Beaches.

The owner of the hotel was on property, his name is Michael and he's an American. It's a very special place with all of the things that the other hotels seemed to be lacking like strong air conditioning, functional internet and a wide variety of food options. The place isn't big, but the services were as good and in some cases better than what we received at the JW Marriott in Lima.

The room service menu was great, but the chef prepared items for us that weren't on the menu. Everything was delicious.

We'll be back next year and will definitely stay here again.

Mark, What an amazing honor to compare our service to one of Marriotts, flagship hotels. It is our goal to be the best hotel in Peru - hands down - and this kind of feedback motivates us to work hard to get there. I'm glad you enjoyed our fiber optic Internet, special dishes prepared for you by our Chefs, and our new super powered air conditioners. It will be our pleasure to provide you with exceptional service again when you stay with us again next your. We await your next reservation! Safe travels, Michael P. Owner Mancora Beaches

Mancora beaches is one of the most amazing hotels I have been in! It has been a week in paradise for me. It is on a perfect location right at the beach which gives you a really relaxing feeling, specially when you are using the swimming Pool.

Besides how good the location is, there is also an excellent breakfast everymorning on which you can pick out your own food from a menu. You can even pick the location where you want the food to be deliverd at. Best hangover cure after a night of drinking!

The staff provides great service, they are always making sure you have every thing you need and more! They are super friendly and always smiling! Besides being very good at what they do, they are also perfect people to just have a chat with.

I want to give a special thanks to Michael (the hotel owner) for being such a great host and person!

Overall this is an excellent place to go to if you want to take some time off for vacation! I high recommend this for everybody.

Great hotel once... But not anymore. Superb location, fantastic beach. Friendly staff, nice food but... see the first picture upon arrival and the second a few days later: they started to modify their terrace and installed this green wall in front of our room for the rest of the stay, no information about this during the reservation process nor upon arrival. The construction workers would start their job at 7:30 am making the noise you can imagine...:(
