Yes, that's right, this is not a guesthouse. We found the property very difficult to find and this would have been impossible if the owner had not come out into the road to meet us. The "guesthouse" is a converted apartment in a 1960s tower block and not a free-standing guesthouse that I usually stay in! The rooms are fine: very clean and fit for purpose. The key issue with our stay was that the people who lived next door decided to have a party on the Saturday night and the walls between the apartments are very thin indeed. To cut a long story short, I had to text the owner at 1120pm to tell him that the music and noise next door was unbearable. He advised I contact the local police until I texted him back and told him that it was his property and his job to contact the police! He then turned up at the property and pleaded (quite unsuccessfully) with his neighbour, to desist from the noise. The noise continued until 1am, stopped and then more noise started again at 3am until around 5am - it's the worst experience I think I have ever had in a "hotel". The following morning, we were presented with breakfast (and please remember that we paid around 80 Euros per room. Breakfast consisted of two croissants on paper towels (no plates) and a concentrated fruit juice in a bottle (no glass). We were asked if we wanted tea/coffee the water of which was then heated in the microwave and was thus cold. I then tackled the owner about compensation and he refused until I said that I would retain his keys for the apartment and go to the police. He very reluctantly refunded 70 euros and not the full amount for the room. I have no issue with people trying to make an honest buck, and despite the room being very clean etc, this is not a guesthouse and you would never find it on your own as it's behind a locked gate in a tower block. This is not described in the blurb. Apart from the horrendous noise from the neighbours, you should get more than a croissant and a cold cup of tea.
