Travellers' Choice
Embracing the stunning ridgeline of Uvita Mountain in Costa Rica’s famous Southern Pacific Region, Nature’s Edge offers an escape to paradise amid the cool vibe of a jungle oasis with endless vistas and chic accommodations in an intimate boutique resort. Designed for tranquility and relaxation, this adults-only retreat is minutes from Uvita and the famous Whales Tail National Park and is surrounded by the natural beauty of rivers and waterfalls, beaches and jungles. The local adventure playbook includes everything from ocean water sports, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding to nature hikes, horse-back and ATV rides, ziplining and mangrove river tours. Or spend the day at the resort relaxing at the pool, practicing yoga, or indulging in an in-room massage. We can arrange a massage therapist or even a private chef to provide a cooking demonstration. Come and unwind… Come and explore… all while experiencing breathtaking vistas of verdant mountains and a lush jungle canopy melding together with the captivating sights and sounds of Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife. Terraza de Alma The heart and soul of Nature’s Edge, Terraza de Alma is designed for guests to immerse themselves in mesmerizing views and ever-changing horizons. Meet, gather, read, swim, lounge and eat at this tranquil retreat featuring an expansive deck jutting out over the jungle. Take a dip in the shimmering salt-water pool or relax in a cushioned teak lounge chair. Chill out in the covered lounge or explore your master-chef desires in the fully furnished kitchen. Breakfast is served poolside in the terraza, every morning (extra fee); beverages, including alcoholic drinks and snacks are also available upon request at a nominal fee. Beer comes from a local brewery while the wine selection -- from Chile, Spain, and Argentina -- was hand-selected (well, pallet-selected) based on quality, flavor, and price. Our Casitas Inspired by the region’s abundant wildlife and jungle plant life, each casita was meticulously designed with its own distinctive vibe and vista. Our four casitas represent a playful marriage of posh comfort in an inspirational setting. Most furnishings are hand-crafted by a local builder (“mueblero”) using Costa Rica’s famous Teak and Guanacaste hardwood, which are moisture and bug resistant. Each well-appointed casita sleeps two, featuring a king-size bed with elegant linen and a private bathroom with open air shower. From the balcony, each casita offers its own unique and stunning vista. Whether you prefer jungle, mountains, cloud forest, or partial ocean views, we have a casita just for you. Enjoy the view from your oversized teak rocker with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. All rooms contain Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee, toaster oven, service ware, safe, and ceiling fans. Bathrooms feature top quality towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash plus hair dryer and retractable clothesline. One dedicated parking space is provided for each casita. Mariposa (butterfly) and Palmas (palms) are the upper-ridge casitas which have soothing partial ocean views peeking out over the jungle canopy. On a clear day you can see the Osa Peninsula, home of the magnificent Corcovado National Park. Aracari (small toucan) and Heliconia (exotic flower) are the lower-ridge casitas which offer a stunning view of the jungle canopy along with majestic views of mountains, cloud forests, and cattle pastures. This view offers ideal opportunities for watching birds, butterflies, and wildlife.

The most beautiful and amazing stay we've had in the world (we've been to many places). The view, facilities, breakfast, and owners are all incredible. Must stay place if visiting Costa Rica. The weather up there is pristine and the sounds of nature completely surround you.

It was great meeting you and hosting you both! We love when guests see our passion for our little paradise. So happy to see you explored the area and got to experience all there is to do here. Watching you both exercise outside at the pool overlooking the jungle made me want to do the same :-). Appreciate the conversations about strategy and your feedback. Safe travels around the world! We hope to see you both again!

See it to believe it. If you're looking to get away from the crazy and overcrowded big city and enjoy the peaceful setting of a small town with friendly people, this is a great choice. Small and cozy and just perfect. Enjoy the quiet sounds of nature. Cherish the solitude of being up in a mountain. Breathe the cool fresh air. Find your inner peace. Leave the electronic leash behind! The casitas (rooms) have a lovely view, and the owners have thought of little details for a comfortable stay. The location is 5 minutes from town for groceries, restaurants, the beach, and you also have other attractions nearby.

Joe and Keith have a phenomenal spot. The view from our room was amazing, it was like waking up in The Jungle Book. The guys are wonderful hosts and are very welcoming and outgoing. They always go the extra mile to find interesting little treats to spice up their breakfasts, from random fruits I didn't know existed to pastry's from a local bakery. Be warned though, Joe cooks breakfast like it's the only meal of the day :) They also have top tier recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

This was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. We received a wonderful hospitality during our 4 day visit in Uvita. The property has gorgeous grounds that are meticulously tended to by the gardener. Our bungalow was top notch and immaculate. Spacious enough for our needs, furnished with comfy bed, fabulous shower fridge and coffee maker. Keith & Joe went above and beyond to ensure our stay was heavenly. That included water and flat tire crisis.😁 They are a great team of individuals, passionate about their B&B venture. Their enthusiasm is truly contagious. Breakfasts were a work of art… healthy, nutritious and beautifully presented. My favorite part of a day was waking up to jungle sounds… with coffee cup in hand….soaking up the breathing views.😍 I know, I will come back for more. Some day..💕

Thank you so much for becoming part of the Nature's Edge Family. Come back anytime and let's hope this visit doesn't have the water and tire issues again. Our hearts are full of joy after reading this review!
