If you are looking for a totally secluded spot, nestled deep in nature, look no further! Black Leopard Camp is exactly that and the camp FAR exceeded my expectations! As we were the only couple in the camp, we were upgraded to a unit with its own kitchen, which I was so grateful for - thank you Lynsey and Julius! The highlight of our stay was the outside bath overlooking the river, where we spent hours in the early evening, watching the bush babies come out to play in the trees above us, also having a braai with the sound of the river only a few metres away, baboons calling in the cliffs on the opposite side of the valley. Absolute bliss! The camp is equally suited for a romantic couples' break-away or a nature-break for families. It has to be mentioned though that the road leading to the camp is most definitely only suited for 4x4 vehicles. I do however think the challenging access road adds to the feeling of total seclusion and remoteness of this camp. I would also highly recommend booking this entire camp for a big friends' or family outing. The communal kitchen/braai/dining area really lends itself to a group booking.…
Beautifully tucked away in the mountains this was such a fantastic place to relax. We had good cell reception even though the wifi offered doesn’t exist so if you rely on that you will be disappointed. TV broken but didn’t bother us as we just relaxed , read and spent time at the pool. Gorgeous views. Definitely need a high clearance vehicle so 4x4 or 4x2 with diff lock. Julius is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. Staff Always ready to light a fire or lay the tables etc - real asset to the lodge
We cannot rave enough about the spot. The setting is just out of a book! The whole place needs maintenance. The large 4 bedroom unit had water issues for all 4 days (lack of hot water for most of the time). The leaking from the roof gutters which are non-existant was more than should be tolerated into the large lounge/enterainment area. The electicity was on and off during our stay, but was backed up by a generator. We salute the staff 12 out of 10 for crises management every single day with little or no support from management. The cleaning materials and tools were also seriosuly lacking. We do understand that the place is up for sale and that they have been hard hit by Covid-19, but, if you open your doors and take the money, then you need to at least provide the basics to your guests! We loved the freedom of the property without restrictions and our whole family would love to go back once these challanges are addressed. Well done to the staff ************…
What a stroke of luck it was to come across a website that recommended BLC. We were looking for a getaway in the bush that allowed pets, and there were few to choose from. BLC covered all our requirements. This is an amazing property with every amenity one can dream of, including spectacular views of the mountains. We cannot wait to visit again.
Amazing break away in the mountains to relax and unwind. Black leopard camp owners & Julius were awesome hosts Luxury tent was immaculate and offered amazing views from the deck. Road to the lodge can be done by a 4x2 with decent clearance otherwise there are other options to be collected from the bottom of the mountain. Fully equipped communal kitchen with refrigerators Awesome stay ⛰
