What a wonderful place. Perhaps a secret gem that more people should know about. Ali the owners is a wonderful kind person who loves animals and life, made us feel so welcome. Thanks The house was well catered and peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. The surrounding are nature at it best. The horses and the trail out ride was great my son Dylan enjoyed every minute. We will be back ,thanks for making us feel like family. This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy farm life or country life ,peacefully. Thanks Dave and Bella and Dylan

Alison is a great hostess. She catered to our every need and just fell short of changing the weather for us. My partner and I with our two Cocker spaniels were hosted by four tortoises in our pet friendly unit. Occasionally, Two Friesland Oxen would come and check up on us where we got to host them with some veggies. Speedy & Gonzalez (the two younger tortoises), moving around just enough to keep the doggos curious. With all the basic amenities, beautiful scenery and country lifestyle living, the guest farm is the perfect location for respite from the perverbial rat race. No distractions from police sirens, noisy neighbours or loud TVs, there was ample board games to play overlooking the most amazing mountain views.

We stayed at Lydenrust for 1 night on our trip to the dam. We had a lovely cabin which had everything we needed. It was cold at night, but a beautiful spot to be at peace with nature. Lots of adorable sheep, goats and horses and even a tortoise in the garden. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the stunning views.

Fantastic weekend break within easy reach of Johannesburg. The last part of the road has quite a few potholes but you just need to drive carefully...you don't need a 4x4. We stayed in Brumby House..extremely well equipped. Alison is a great hostess..a unique individual! She is phenomenal with all her animals, not only the horses, and almost every one of them has a story to share! The rides are fantastic and can be tailored to suit each persons level. Our whole family(even my husband who is not a rider), can't wait to get back. Most relaxing thing I have done all year. Thank you Alison!

Excellent, the service, rooms and farm is always fantastic. Alison is always willing to go out of her way to help her guests (including towing them out of mud and lending cups of sugar!). We go every year and are always pleased.

As a child, my father used to read Zane Grey books to us. They were all about the great American Frontiersmen and Indians and such. I allways tried to imagine what it would be like, sleeping in a Tipi. This was simply the real deal. The location is the perfect combination of safe and isolated. You really get the feeling that you are alone "Out There" with no soul around but nature and thre friendly sound of the little river a few2 meters from the tent. Everything was just perfect. From the moment we3 set foot at Lydenrust Guest Farm until the moment we left, we felt cared for and special. Thank you very much! We all want to see what the little hidden valey looks like in summer... See you again then!

We stayed at Lydenrust Guest farm for 4 days and it was amazing. I have (city) 3 kids which are extremely busy but I hardly saw them those 4 days! Alison and her staff are so amazing, helpful, patient and friendly. She taught my kids how to ride horse and feed the animals. I was also very pleased to see how much they love and treat their animals. The ocomadation was perfect with the most peaceful view of the mountains and small rivers. It was a great break away for the whole family.Just the place to relax and regain your thoughts. My kids did not want to leave and we will defiantly visit again!! Thank you so much Alison and staff.
