An amazing place to stay when visiting the Zulu Battlefields. The hosts and staff are very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble . The rooms are spacious and well equipped with great views. The food is the best of home cooking and well presented. There are views from every location in the lodge and only wish we had more time there to enjoy them. The Zulu guide who came with us to the battle sites was very knowledgeable although sometimes a little hard to understand.
Superb. There is no way to convey just how fantastic this lodge is. As you rattle up and down the approach roads you have no idea that such stylish luxury and such a warm welcome awaits you. Ros and Shane are great hosts that have a passion and enthusiasm that's a rare find. The interior design is just stunning and the location fantastic - a real 'pinch-me' experience to stay here - super. Lovely pool area (weather was not conducive to a swim whilst we were there but it's in a great setting) Dalton the local Zulu battlefields guide is a gem and he's so keen to share his considerable knowledge. Can't fault it and was a highlight for me during our recent travels in S Africa.
This is THE place to stay in Isandlwana - not only has it got THE view of the battlefields - the lodge is also far superior in terms of view and comfort than its 2 competitors (I know cos we checked them out whilst we were there). Our guide, Ayander was FANTASTIC - his story telling was just captivating, we really enjoyed learning from a Zulu the back stories and battle tactics of both sides. Ros was a brilliant host - we felt really at home. Our room exceeded our expectation - we were in the Zulu kings room - which was in keeping with the lodges African aesthetic but come complete with USB charging plug (super impressed with this modernity) the view from our bed of the battlefield was breathtaking. Food was fab and plentiful - if anything too much food :) - wine was great.…
Beautifully sited and appointed lodge clinging to the rock face overlooking the Isandlwana battlefield in the heart of Zululand. Great hosts Roz and Shane with excellent cuisine and even better bar! Service overall splendid while battlefield visits with Dalton truly interesting and informative. Only downside is variable Wi-fi while swimming pool requires some T L C. Wish we’d stayed 3 as opposed to 2 nights.
